looking at your signature i assume you already have a display and peripherals. for under 900 CAD all brand new this is the best you can get.

keep in mind the most expensive one is more expensive for a touch screen, so its even cheaper if you got it without that ( I would). and if you have the money already set aside, the money you'd save would go a long way upgrading your desktop PC (significant improvements!).

That's also true. And I don't think I would pick the touchscreen either - too annoying. My desktop could also use a hefty upgrade too (new GPU and more ram for sure)

The top configuration is half of my budget... So I guess if I went that way I would be saving a lot of money (hmmm)...

Well other than a second display, I don't know what you could get.
Maybe the BENQ XL2422Z or something (that 1080p 144Hz one) if you actually get 144fps or something..

You're probably are better off just saving our money and waiting for when the 970's are cheaper or something (and you can get a 970 + new CPU or something..)

Here's what I put together for you: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/LB4MMpIt's got an SSD to put your OS on for a much faster experience, a GPU that performs nearly the same with more VRAM, and an 8-core CPU that you can overclock. You can also stick with the enthoo pro if you like that but I put the define R4 on there because it's just so quiet.
    Good luck and happy building!

Guys a lot of you are missing the point of why people get into youtube. Most people who create youtube videos don't do it to get rich or make money, they do it for fun. If you're only in it for the money you'll never get far. I myself have a channel (link attached as proof: https://www.youtube.com/user/Alan3345) and while it's not big and won't lead to anything I still have a small community of people subbed to me and it feels great when people like a video or leave some feedback. Also in the past year I've actually made about €150 from my videos. Now that's nothing, but it's still €150 for doing something I love, ie a hobby. That's what youtube is to the majority of people that do it, for fun.

reposting my fanfiction from this thread

Linus approached Slick. Slick's unkempt facial hair had a hint of yellow from his lunch of chicken soup.
    "h-hey Slick"
Linus was nervous. He hadn't approached a boy like this since he was left by his wife because of a similar interaction
"do you need help with that heatsink? your strong hands don't seem to... fit"
    he bit his lip
"I'd love help" said slick as he looked into Linus's beady eyes
"but first, we need to discharge you of and static"
Slick took Linus's head into his hands and their lips met
Linus took Slick's heatsink and applied the proper thermal paste
His heatsink felt warm against Linus's LGA1150 bracket. he new he wanted it
