  1. I own a dell xps 9560, which has one thunderbolt port. I've been searching around the internet to see what version of the USB 3.1 specification the port supports. Since USB c and thunderbolt share the same connector, I want to know if there are separate chipsets on the port for thunderbolt controlling (up to the 40 gbps speed) and one for usb (say in this case, it's a usb 3.1 gen 1 chipset). does anyone know if this is the case, or if all thunderbolt ports support the latest usb spec (usb 3.1 gen 2)?
  2. Thank you for your reply. I have let the computer run while in sleep with the fans on for a half hour, so I highly doubt that any components would need that long to cool off. There is not any special motherboard software unfortunately, and I've checked the windows power settings. I do not have any USB devices plugged in. I have completely reinstalled windows from a USB drive since posting this, and the problem persists, So there really isn't anything for the Anti-virus stuff to scan. What specifically am I looking for in task scheduler or event viewer? Also I do not know if this helps, but when I set the computer to enter hibernation, at least on battery, the fans do not spin.
  3. It seems that my issues with this computer are never ending. I posted a few months ago with issues, and in the end I sent the laptop in for repairs and they replaced the motherboard, only to receive the computer back and have issues with the fans. Whenever the computer enters sleep mode, the fans immediately spin up, probably to 100%. I have updated the BIOS and any other recommended updates by the computer, and the problem persists. In addition, if I put the computer to sleep while it is plugged in, the fans will also spin at full speed. Specs: Dell Inspiron Gaming 7567 Core i5 7300HQ GTX 1050 TI
  4. Now I feel kind of dumb having not thought of that myself. Thank you for your post and I will try as soon as I get home from school and will update the thread then
  5. I have previously sent my laptop in to Dell for warranty support about 2 months ago, and recently the problem has returned. They claimed over the phone that it is a "windows" issue. I disagree, because I cannot even get into the system BIOS at all. I push the power button, the boot logo comes up, and nothing will happen. I've tried leaving it on for hours on end, and still nothing. I followed the recommendation on one of the pinned threads to reset the CMOS by removing the battery and coin battery, and it did not resolve the issue. The main question I have is: am I crazy to think that this is not a windows related issue but something with the BIOS etc? System Specs: Dell Inspiron Gaming 7000 (2017 Model) Windows 10 256GB M.2 SSD 8GB Ram NVidia GTX 1050 (TI? I can't remember) No additional hardware has been added to the system. Everything is at stock from factory (minus the M.2 SSD they replaced at Dell Support) All help is greatly appreciated.
  6. I believe the dramatic uptick in sponsored content is due to the holiday shopping system. Don't quote me but I feel like one of the posts in FP mentions that. My guess would be that the amount of sponsored content will go down after the holiday season is over. It's such a lucrative time for companies that they are willing and wanting to look for every possible avenue to way to boost revenue, and getting a sponsored piece of content by a channel with such a large audience can really make such a big difference. Though there has been a lot, I do feel that they still are very selective as to the companies that they will work with because they are demonstrating a desire to maintain a high level of quality in their videos with all of the set upgrades and such.
  7. I love how much the LMG staff listen to the community, especially those who are a part of the paid FP community. I'm sure that all of the energy is being devoted to actually launching a proper FP website right now, but based off of how much Linus himself preaches about Plex I would be super excited to see this feature implemented. Truly worth my very limited college budget to pay for FP.
  8. If I were to win this, it would chew up much of my budget to get this and the other higher-end enthusiast components (ddr4 and the more expensive board and socket), meaning my build would have to be done incrementally, but it would be enough to convince me to go big or go home for sure! And to everyone else, may the odds be ever in your favor.
  9. I actually found LTT when my dad was searching for a gaming mouse for work because he needed a quality mouse. I was doing some google searching and stumbled across his video review of the logitech proteus core mouse. That led me to watching probably about 30 videos (no joke) in a single sitting, and I've been subscribed ever since. It's been just under 7 months now because i found the video not long after it launched. Though I haven't been active on the forums (thanks school) it's been a great community and knowingthat there is other tech lovers out there who want to be apart of a friendly community is awesome.
  10. Interestingly, for whatever reason my favorite part is the accent lighting to go along with that awesome case. Flare is the first thing my non techy friends notice first and if I can get them sucked in by the flare factor maybe I can get them in interested in computers after that
  11. Dang I wish I would've discovered LMG sooner than a couple months ago. College has sucked all my time up and I haven't been able to really participate in the forums. But congratulations to the group on 1 million subscribers and I love every video that comes out. I watch them on a daily basis. I hope to become more active in this community in the near future. Good luck to all and again congratulations
  12. With Laptops, most people judge a book by its cover. I love the look of it, and a red backlit keyboard is my favorite color. Probably my favorite part of the review though is the battery life and how Linus describes it. Three hours on battery with that kind of consumption is quite impressive in my opinion, much better than my current laptop.
  13. I totally agree with Linus in saying that pushing the envelope is something that needs to happen more often. The smartphone market has become quite stale in my opinion. Though it isn't truly revolutionary, the high density display is still a wow factor to anyone who understands hearse numbers. The LG G3, to me personally, outclasses the GS5 and is up there with the One M8
