Just outside of Toronto Canada in a brand new house (5 yrs), We had a nasty ice storm last December, and were without power for 5 days after a transformer blew.. I figured there may have been a surge that damaged the first PSU now I have everything plugged into a UPS now

About 6 months ago, the original PSU from my computer died (Ultra 750W somethingorother). I replaced it with a Corsair CX750M, great, problem solved.. or not For the past month or two I have been having issues with my computer randomly crashing, no BSOD, just cut to black Last week it got worse, it would crash, and then not turn back on for a while. I finally opened it up last night and did a paperclip test on the PSU and got nothing, then I tapped the PSU and it turned on. It would stay on for a bit, and then crash again. So basically the PSU is dead, Corsair should replace it that is not the problem The issue I have is that to me, two dead power supplies in 6 months points to an underlying problem, I just have no idea what it could be... PC specs Intel Core i7 940 EVGA X58 SLI LE 12 Gb DDR3 RAM (Corsair XMS3) EVGA GTX 550Ti Corsair CX740m 750W power supply
