Hey guys, I will probably be grabbing an Intel i7 4790k in the near future and I need a motherboard recommendation for it. Mainly I am looking for: - good overclocking - CrossFire/SLI support (in case I do it in the future) - not confusing software!! from videos it looks like MSI's software is very confusing as to what each program does, AI Suite looks like the best in this regard - black and red colour scheme - not a big deal, but one legacy PCI for my Xonar DG would be nice Also if anyone happens to know: I have a Corsair H70 cooler which came with LGA 1155 mounting brackets, but no 1150. Will it fit on 1150? Thanks in advance!

Favourite thing is definitely the build quality! Thanks for doing this Linus and HTC!

I am doing as such at the moment. Will mine more afterwards though, it won't hurt. -

Yeah, just started as well. Been mining for about 5 hours, got me 4k dogecoin, which i calculated to be about $5.50. Anyone know how/when we should sell? -
Is this still worth doing? Running a 7950

It's not the components that make a build good or bad, it's the asthetics, practicality, and original touches :D

So my sennheiser cx300s broke last night, and I'm looking for something to replace them. Going to be using them a lot in public, so they must look good. Braided cable is preferred. For sound, a perfectly flat sound is good as I can just eq it. I mostly listen to edm. Price range should be under $100. Thanks

They sound quite bad compared to a proper headphone such as the SR-850 (which btw is half the price) but are REALLY comfortable. Don't even bother with it's mic, its quiet and sounds mediocre. Compared to other gaming headsets however, they sound really good.

I would definitely go for some Samson SR-850. I'm using them right now, they're absolutely phenomenal for the price ($40). Sound sooo good, it's crazy.

Possibly dead video card due to monitor overclocking?
losinator501 replied to losinator501's topic in Troubleshooting
I feel that it may be corrupt drivers, although I don't see how that explains the clicking. I'll do a fresh install and see how it does. If it's still broke, as good a reason as any to upgrade ;) -

That's the thing though, how would overclocking the monitor get to the board lol it has no correlation -
Possibly dead video card due to monitor overclocking?
losinator501 replied to losinator501's topic in Troubleshooting
Not exactly. It'd be a pain, it's full of dust and crap cabling. I don't think it's the card as the exact same thing happens on integrated graphics. At some point in the bsod viewer it said something about Rt64win7.sys and on another BSOD AtihdW76.sys. RT64 looks to be a LAN driver, and Atihd a audio over HDMI driver. I tried uninstalling the AMD drivers, but no luck. Still the exact same thing. 640x480 bootup does not help. I cannot install the AMD drivers anymore because it won't let me from safe mode. Don't have much experience with safe mode, not sure if that's supposed to happen. -

Possibly dead video card due to monitor overclocking?
losinator501 replied to losinator501's topic in Troubleshooting
At the moment, I am running off integrated video. I have removed my graphics card. exact same problems occur. Occasionally I can get into the os normally, but it still locks up and bsods with the same error. Still a click when it bsods and boots -
Possibly dead video card due to monitor overclocking?
losinator501 replied to losinator501's topic in Troubleshooting
I have a 6870, it's in my signature. sorry, forgot that signatures can be disabled. How would I revert to the stock settings? I cant use that program since it can't find a display (in safe mode, so that might be the problem) I'll try the bluescreen viewer. -
Possibly dead video card due to monitor overclocking?
losinator501 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So today I decided I wanted to overclock my monitor a slight bit to see if it would make a difference. I went from 60Hz to 65Hz using this thing: http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU It asked for a reboot afterwards, so I did. When I booted up, the resolution was tiny (640x480) and BSODed a few seconds after hitting the welcome screen. Something clicks (presumably video card) every time it BSODs and boots up. I tried to boot into safe mode, and that worked. However, I don't know what to do from here. Any help? -
Lol instead of pouring more money into dual 780s, I'd stick with your Titan and get a better phone/camera.

Pre - sleeved Cables - Rubbish or real alternative?
losinator501 replied to Homicidium's topic in Power Supplies
It's definitely cheaper doing it yourself. That being said, I've used NZXT's and BitFenix's presleeved cables. NZXT's are a plastic braid, I don't like them. My system is currently outfitted with all BitFenix, none of them have quality control issues except for one of my video card connectors where the snap-in thing broke off.
