The Macbook of now is the Macbook Air of back then. It made little sense for normal people. Now look at the air, the cheapest point of entry to the Apple ecosystem and a pretty good entry to boot, a laptop that basically kicked every other PC maker in the ass on how to make a good, small laptop. 
 
Its Apple first gen, every gen. Don't buy into it unless you really know what you want and are getting into. Otherwise wait for the vastly improved 2nd gen, when shits been ironed out and things make a little more sense.

AMD old CEO Roy Read is much to blame for AMD current state. Under Roy Reed AMD purchased Seamicro and wasted 350 mil, instead of investing the money in GPU and CPU designs. It cost about 100 mil in R&D per cpu or gpu. Roy Reed wasted 3 generations of R&D on buying Seamicro. This is one of the reasons he resigned.   

Well I don't really like AMD, but if they die, everyone that uses a computer will take a massive hit.
 
Both Nvidia and Intel would have a monopoly on Gpus and Cpus respectively, causes prices to skyrocket, support and drivers, etc. would not be well done.
 
There would be no one to challenge them. They would set the prices to their liking. If you don't like those prices, theres absolutly nothing you could do.

A flagship gpu that was released in September 2014 is beating a flagship gpu that was released in September 2013, by about 10% give or take.

It's not fair to compare 970 OC vs 980. What would be fair is both OC or both stock. If you'd OC the 980 the difference would be there since it is a better card after all.

I'm no video card engineer but why not have larger fans instead of so much free space? It looks like the card is artificially enlarged, I had an XFX 280 that did the same thing, way taller and longer than it had to be.

If there was carboss.com they would probably determine a cars performance by how many wheels it has. 

That doesn't make sense, 970 is twice as fast as a 960 whereas 980 is slightly better than a 970.. Price wise I agree but the performance gap isn't large enough to say 970 is mid and 980 is high.

IMO Samsung improved a lot lately when it comes to phone bloatware, but this has nothing to do with open source. Samsung also don't lock their bootloaders (at least in Europe) so that's basically as open as it gets. AMD could definitely benefit from Samsung's money but I feel like they'll use AMD to make more stuff for portable devices (laptops, tablets and phones) since that's way more profitable than making expensive and fast graphics cards. When it comes to CPUs, I don't know if AMD can match Intel anymore, it would be nice if they do but I'm not so sure.

Bloatware is what the user of the device wants it to be.
 
If you use OneDrive/Note/Skype, then it's not bloatware to you.

Not worth it considering you can get SLI 980's or a 295x2 for significantly less and get better performance, at the cost of multi-GPU issues and higher power consumption.

Rockstar are so bad with deadlines I don't know why they bother. Should've just left it at Spring 2015 until like a week before release, I can't count how many times they've delayed heists and other things. I don't mind the delay, but it's getting a bit dumb at this point.
