[FALSE ALARM] GTX 980 Ti 5.5GB VRAMgate Reloaded?! WTF

Unlike the 970, there are people who are getting max speed for the whole VRAM. This tells me the test is either invalid or for some people their cards are doing some other thing in the background, making it slow down. Only way I'd see to run this 100% legit would be to use iGPU to run the monitor off of so that the card is 100% idle. Regardless, the results seem all other the place.

    Fallout 4 is official

I am very excited for this. I personally enjoyed NV (especially its DLC) far more than 3. Yes the desert was more empty than 3's mostly city based environment but the story is WAY better, the science DLC (name escapes me) was amazing as well.

    Can 600w handle 2 way sli 980?

It might work, but it's not worth the risk. If you insist on doing it then limit their power to at most 80-90% as they consume up to 300W as shown above. It's absolutely not worth risking blowing the PSU, potentially killing multiple components.

Reference 980 ti or non reference?

I have an MSI 980 but temps should be similar with Ti. Obviously it depends a lot on ambient temperature, fan RPM and so on. Anyway, I have a fractal design case, name escapes me but I took out all the drive cages in front (only the 5.5 bays left on the very top), 2 intakes, one out the top and out the back, all 140mm. I air cool the CPU, it gets a bit hot under 100% (actually hits 100 in prime95 extreme test), but under gaming it's around 70 or so. Anyway, with the fans around 300 RPM ambient case temperature is 27-28C with the room at 22 or so. Under load it goes up to 32-34 at times. I haven't used a reference cooler for a while, only one I have is the GTX 260 and case temps aren't that much lower IIRC. This tells me most of the heat is from the CPU. Honestly I'll get an MSI 980 Ti since the thing is dead silent even under 100% load (temps are also low, 65-70 in games).

    Nvidia GTX 980 Ti

No point in following up the reference video IMO, I'd rather see a 3rd party card review with proper cooling to see OC results.
  6. Check windows event viewer, reinstall drivers (with DDU).
  7. I'm not that surprised, it feels like Apple is prioritizing release deadlines over polish and performance. iOS used to be stable as well, look at it now. They keep insisting on bringing a lot of new features every year and that's really costing them when it comes to performance.

GTA V and new AMD Drivers?

PCIe 2 won't bottleneck you at all, let alone with a 970. Linus did a test a while back and I think anything over 3.0 4x (2.0 8x) was exactly the same. 3.0 4x is what you'll get with 3 way SLI on a Z97 board.

    Asus PB278Q Good for Gaming?

I think total input lag is around 15-20ms, it feels like a relatively quick IPS panel. If you're coming from 60Hz you probably won't notice much difference (if any) in terms of responsiveness. 1440p is a lot better than 1080p in terms of space available and clarity.

    1440p or 144hz?

I personally can't use 1080p anymore, it's pixelated and there's not enough space. Keep in mind 60Hz is gonna look quite slow next to a 144Hz panel (I have this setup) but it's so much clearer and way bigger.
  11. I like the blur, but I dislike Aero. I think Windows 10 looks awesome with the (almost) invisible window borders and flat bars, I don't like the curved glass-like theme of Vista/7. It looked fancy when it came out I admit. This is just preference for the most part, it's very similar to depth of field in games.
  12. I hate monitors where the screen is deep inside the bezel, it just looks bad in my opinion. It looks so much more modern with the screen flat with the rest of the bezel, bonus points if the bezels are also thin.

Black Ops 3 Teaser Trailer Teaser 2

That is SOOOOO EDGY!!! What an original opinion you have there.
  14. Nvidia had 70% of shipments in Q4 2014, that's not the same as 70% market share. Steam says its 50% nvidia, 20% AMD and the rest is Intel. That's as close as you get to actual market share numbers.
  15. Just because I don't care that much about colors doesn't mean I don't take pride in a PC. Maybe you're one of those people who have only a glass side panel with custom solid pipes water loops, in that case get the 970 if all you care about is looks. I prefer a silent computer, I don't use glass panels so I basically never see the insides. Why are you even asking this question if looks is so important to you? It just seems like you asked a question you already know the answer to.
