  1. Thanks for the heads up. Ours are screened correctly but I'll keep an eye out for that in the future. Honestly I find soldering a bit relaxing as well and this is significantly better than the vast amount surface mount stuff we'll be starting soon. Thanks, I'll look into it. I'm also trying to see if any OEM's would be interested in sponsorship via system donations but I haven't seen much online. May make a few phone calls next week.
  2. So we don't have the kind of budget where we can afford to spend $800 on new computers or GPUs. Going to reach out to Nvidia and see if we can get a contribution but I'm not too hopeful. Essentially all of our finances are going into our new car and new computers would be extremely nice but are not essential. Cool, I'll update with some before an after pictures or tomorrow Friday. The temperature of the iron is really dependent on the type of solder used. On the Dell boards it was lead free so we needed a pretty hot iron at about 480 C. More importantly was the tip used so you could melt the solder quickly and poke the lead out before heating up the board and surrounding components too much.
  3. So I am on a university solar car team and some of our old (2007) workstations have finally begun dying from the capacitor plague. Specs: Intel Core 2 Extreme Nvidia Quadro FX3500 (256 Mb of onboard memory) 4GB DDR2 Custom Dell stuff ... As you can imagine it is difficult to do 3D rendering and Inventor work during the best of times on these ancient rigs and once they start sporadically shutting down every 20 minutes or so it is near impossible to get anything done. Does anyone have any advice for this in terms of what to watch out for? I've already pulled most of the caps and am waiting on a Digi-Key order before I finish the rest of them. Is anyone interested in me logging the experience? I'm considering making a video since there are not may good ones out there showcasing this relatively cheap repair.
  4. Now if this could be implemented in EV packs without compromising the overall capacity and weight by a noticeable amount it could be very useful, assuming it could feasibly work with cylindrical cells.
  5. As far as I recall, the Model 3 was never going to get unlimited Supercharger use unless you purchased a premium upgrade package (thousands more than the base).
  6. Is anyone familiar with programming nucleo 32s? Working on a project at school and am struggling to find a good IDE for these dev boards. Planning to implements them as nodes in a CAN network.
  7. What are the items called that he used to put the standoffs into the table. I can't seem to find them anywhere.
  8. Can you post your mod load order? Also if Skyrim runs over 60fps the physics breaks so try enabling v-sync or an fps cap. This is what we have to thank for random flying mammoths.
  9. It didn't help that he assaulted the police when they first attempted to take him into custody.
  10. Some kid got arrested for doing that a few weeks ago.
  11. Media gets free samples: http://www.znaps.net/#press-kit Maybe good for a handy tech under a hundred episode?
  12. The CPU that you have selected is not overclockable.
  13. I like the option to add wireless charging to the phone and the fact that I can switch batteries in an out.
