I watched that video yesterday and he nicely explained why it is a BS. He basically bought a $60k (used for $6k) spectrometer machine which uses the same technology as the "molecular scanner" and through the experiment he showed that even precision lab equipment can't scan eg. orange. He might be smuggish person, but in most of the cases he is right.
 
Also, my way of thinking is if something on the promo video looks way too good to be true, it is 99.9% fake.

And just to add, if you have concrete wall with armatures (iron) between AP and end device you can observe a massive signal degradation

For microphone input you don't use DAC. You use ADC.
 
Typo? Dynamic microphone can be cardioid as well. Did you meant condenser instead of cardioid?
 
No wonder you have hiss. As mentioned before, even the cheapest USB audio device would give you much better results.

Welcome to the future of cars; it happened to computers and it's going to happen to vehicles. And the same people that shit on Apple for their devices being hard to repair will be right there defending the fact that Tesla's vehicles are hard to repair.

Here are the problems I have when folks resort to estimating hardware costs...
1) yes 299 may be what the pieces cost separately
2) Someone has to assemble those parts... they need to be paid
3) Someone designed those parts, they need to be paid
4) Someone performed QC and testing on those parts, they also need to be paid
5) There are costs of R&D and marketing to take into account along with "overhead" such as paying for building, and "Geniuses"
6) They need to appease the shareholder gods with ritual theft =P

I find it even more disrespectful you're trying to publicly humiliate/ shame him and illicit some form of reaction from us as the community. It's his, he can do what he wants with it- trying to provocate the community into troubling him is... I don't know- kinda immature?

I would agree with this. It is much cheaper to produce the same hardware for both cases than having special hardware for each case. 
 
Eg. when iPhone 7 was released, Japanese ones had a special hardware which had Felica (NFC) support. At that time they required a special chipset for it. Current 8 and X have Felica support regardless of the country (my assumption is that it is integrated in the main NFC chipset now). Felica is Sony NFC protocol widely used in Japan and most notable usage is in the public transportation. Japan is a huge market for Apple and they don't want to loose a share in it.
This whole story was to serve as an argument for my claim. It is much cheaper to have a single hardware platform than multiple ones.

It belongs to them, they can chuck it in a landfill, strip it for parts or use it as a coffee table if that's what they choose to do with it. "Deserving or cherishing it is irrelevent.
 
You also don't know why they're selling it anyway, maybe he needs the cash more than a PC for a myriad of different reasons.
