Niksa got a reaction from ShearMe in Surround sound headphones for your guitar!
This product is practice guitar “amp” first. That whole idea of virtual sound scape is something that guitar players usually do. Sitting straight in front of the real amp is not by any means the place anyone wants to be. It is normal that guitar players move around to find a sweet spot and this is exactly what this product tries to replicate and it does this thing well.

During my university years I would be super excited to have this product, but right now I don’t have much use of it.

Bought $400 ski pants brand new for $40. Those are new old stock and this model is discontinued for years. I was using my alpine climbing hard shell pants until now so finally no more show entering my leggings because of the lack of integrated gaiters. Now I finally have a right tool for the job.

Niksa got a reaction from BenjiBoy in Could you destroy a microphone by being too loud?
@NedFlanders has the most relevant and correct information regarding this topic's long posts.
tl;dr YES, high sound pressure can break the microphone capsule and the claim from unnamed user that you will break preamp and ADC before capsule is ridiculous and wrong.

To go into details we need to understand the sound pressure level (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_pressure) and understand that eg. producing 120dB at the source is not the same as hearing that same source from 3m. Second thing is max SPL which tells what is the maximum SPL of the microphone before going to distortion. It is a good guideline to tell you is the microphone capable handling loud sources (more about max SPL here https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/maximum-spl-sound-pressure-level/). For most of the people here, their "beloved" Yeti has max SPL of 120dB. On the other hand AKG D112 is an absolute beast with 160dB of max SPL (200dB of sound pressure can kill a human instantly).

Niksa got a reaction from RoseLuck462 in Domo Arigato Mr Roboto - Amazon rolls out machines that pack orders and replace jobs
Packing order is something than anyone with functioning body can do. It is quite repetitive job and there are NO special skills needed for this work. All those kinds of jobs WILL be replaced by robots. As I said before, repetitive and no extra skills required equals (relatively) easy to develop robots to replace humans. What now, should we kept carriage drivers back in the days because cars have replaced them? Some jobs are dying and there is no point of keeping them just for the sake of having those jobs.

My point is, specialize in something that robots can't do. There are many factories which are highly automated, but they still require human labor for some specific tasks. Aim for those kinds of jobs.

P.S. my whole thought is a general one. I don't know (nor care) about any particular companies, their business practices in this thought.

Also, the Youtuber which starts with p is IMHO only relevant for his fan base and no one else.

Niksa got a reaction from Alexandru Costache in BIAS FX vs BIAS FX 2 - is the new version better? And which other similar programs are you using and why?
I would go with version 2 just because of the added rack gear emulations like Dyno-my-piano chorus etc. and guitar matching (playing with whatever and sound like you are using Gibson, Fender etc.).
Personally I am using Fortin Nameless and Waves PRS pack. They are not feature rich as BIAS-FX, but they sound killer.

In Japan you can order stuff from Amazon to the convenience store instead to your home address and even pay for the package upon delivery in there. And you are able to that for years now. Also, no extra charge for those services.

I know a similar story about one guy who managed to find a serious vulnerability of the web banking site of his bank at the time just by accident. By just editing URL he managed to see other people's transactions without knowing to whom those accounts belong. Being a nice guy he sent a mail to the bank with the description of the issue just to receive a month later legal threat from the bank's legal team that, paraphrasing, "it is not vulnerability on it's own because no one discovered it before. So, since he discovered it, he made that vulnerability a real vulnerability so he should fix it". What I know is that he just replied them with some links about web security and definition of the word "vulnerability" and that on the following day he closed his banking account at that bank.

I get that he has people relying on him now and with the way YouTube crap works he pretty much has to pull all that shit to stay ahead of the game but it's a huge turn off for me.

Niksa got a reaction from Tarun10 in is my new new Microphone a good one or....?
None of those devices are amps. They don't amplify anything. All of them are audio interfaces. You connect passive output devices to amps like headphones and speakers.
Back to the topic, from 3 which you listed I would go with Steinberg (Yamaha). They are known to have decent hardware and they also produce industry standard DAW software.
All of them have DACs inside. Basically DAC is electronic circuit which translates zeroes and ones which come from your PC in this case via USB to the analog signal which can be later amplified and sent to speakers or headphones. Basically, all PCs have DACs inside and the connector where you connect your speakers or headphones is a DAC output (analog signal).

There is no audio interface in the world which will do noise canceling. There are some software solutions, but I can't guarantee for any of those. Also, for that application you are looking completely wrong type of microphone. You should stay away from large diaphragm condensers (Yeti, AT2020, AT2035, even super expensive Neumann U87 would be a bad choice in a noisy situation) and go with dynamic microphones. Shure SM58 is a standard and it is not that expensive, but for the best results I would go with Shure SM7B or Electro Voice RE20. Rode Procaster is also a nice choice.

Niksa got a reaction from KnightSirius in USB or XLR
Not necessarily. XLR is a standard for connecting microphones to the mixer, soundboard etc. It has nothing to do with quality. Also XLR microphones are much more flexible than USB. Quality wise eg AT2020 is THE SAME regardless the connector. The only difference is that USB version has internal microphone preamp and ADC. Cheap microphones will not benefit that much from higher end preamps and there will be little to none improvement for just streaming purposes especially without having adequately acoustically treated room (read studio).

Second thing, Scarlet 2i2 HAS phantom power and the author DOESN'T need it because he wants to use DYNAMIC microphone.

Finally person who did a homework regarding microphones
I would only recommend to look at SM58 instead as well. It has the same capsule as SM57 and it is more optimized for vocals (and indestructible). SM57 is also a nice choice nonetheless, so I think that setup wise you are good to go with either of them. Some people may suggest windscreen, but it will mostly get in a way with SM57/58 without adding much benefit.

Not necessarily. You can use onboard sound card, but studio monitors should be used with something that has balanced outputs for the best results.

Also, studio monitors have really flat response which may not be the best for gaming.
