  1. Well, if that guy is indeed pedo he deserves to be behind the bars. Regarding the youtube channel, IMHO his videos are awful. First of all the interesting part where he is baiting all those guys is missing. All that he does is recording and screaming “you are pervert, you’re sick” etc. I would not be surprised if someone shoots him. Although he is doing a service to the public, his videos are such that he feels like bad guy, not those pervs.
  2. I started playing guitar 20ish years ago and I am still quite rubbish in playing it. Since I graduated my interest got quite low. I have spent tons of money in guitar equipment which is now sitting down on the other side of the planet. I found great 7 string guitar for the bargain price and that is the only instrument that I am playing from time to time by using PC as an “amp”.
  3. I remember those. I have built couple systems with that MBO when I was in high school. I had part time job at small PC store and local distributor gave a huge discount on those boards so we sold them to some customers. Didn’t have any fancy speakers or headphones back then, but I don’t remember it being noisy. I don’t remember being blown away by the sound, but I remember that I wanted it just because it had a tube xD
  4. Don’t forget about audiophile SATA cables if you are not using M.2. https://jcat.eu/audiophile-sata-cable/ Anyhow, both are scams and still most of audiophiles will invest into fancy expensive cables instead where it matters the most- room acoustics.
  5. Technics was shut down, but it was resurrected again some time ago. Here where I live Pioneer and Technics are still quite common.
  6. I would still go with manual transmission license just because it allows you to drive both transmission types of cars. I was in the similar situation several years ago when I was taking a new license in the another country. Although there 95+ percent of cars have automatic transmission I took manual transmission license just because it is more versatile.
  7. I know for sure that software like Nero burning rom can make hybrid CDs. I used it 20+ years ago to do so. Also I remember back in time that Iron Maiden albums had multimedia portion on the CD so when you would insert the CD in the computer you could play some videos on it.
  8. I am fluent in 3 vastly different languages. I still have to hear or read any remotely funny pun in any of those languages.
  9. As long as Linux people are considering terminal as only way to go to do anything on the Linux it will NEVER become mainstream OS. I am working with Linux on daily basis, it is my job. For servers nothing beats terminal. However when I am at home and I turn off my brain I just want to have my OS as plug and play as possible. I can imagine how user vulgaris is feeling when trying to make something just a bit more on the advanced side on the Linux - confused and deterred. The first post says that GUI based package manager and settings on Linux suck. Yes, they do suck, but the issue is WHY they suck? Why are they not improved? Personally I am accustomed to the terminal, but unexpected people are not. Imagine if you had to dig through registry and cmd/Powershell to set anything on Windows. LTT is not channel for IT pros. It is channel for everyday Joes with the interest in IT and the last thing computer users like that will say “I want to learn Linux terminal because it looks cool”. They will ask “can I play games on Linux” and if the experience of installing game and setting the OS for gaming requires steep learning curve it will never be accepted by the wide audience.
  10. Those bad boys. Wanted some softer shoes for the change
  11. Firstly, I would like to know why people are recommending Yeti, mediocre microphone even for what is intended (voiceovers) as the jack of all trades? Personally I would stay away from them, especially for this kind of a setup. Since it is a indoor recording I would not go with shotgun. Sometimes reflection from the walls can interfere with shotgun’s interference tube and cause weird artifacts in the sound. Also, decent shotguns will be more expensive than decent small diaphragm condenser. Speaking of small diaphragm condensers, key words would be super cardioid or even better hyper cardioid. What is means is that cardioid is directional, super cardioid even more while hyper cardioid is the most directional that you can get. However, you would need some sort of audio interface or audio recorder to connect it. Some budget friendly options are Samson C02, LyxPro SDPC-2 which are around 100 USD for a pair or if you want something that is the best bang for the buck then Oktava MK-012 with hyper cardioid capsule (some stores sell it as a movie set) is a way to go and it will set you back 200ish USD. If you don’t want to buy extra interface or audio recorder then I agree with suggestion regarding the Rode Videomic pro. In that case you are skipping the step in editing where you have to sync audio to video.
  12. That “trend” of forcefully putting one’s head into a cake is idiotic and unless the person who’s face is going into the cake did not fully agree to that action before, the perpetrators should not be surprised if they receive fist in their face afterwards.
  13. I remember finding that album on the vinyl when I was a kid among my father’s collection. Truly beautiful record and late Chris Rainbow had such great and emotional performance there.
  14. Got this thingie mostly to watch movies and surfing the internet from my bed
  15. Answer to the question - yes. Comparison with the banks - quite stupid. Social media platforms are more like bars or pubs. If you don’t behave, prepare to be kicked out even if you are their best customer.
  16. TBH when I saw the first trailer I was a bit disappointed. However, seeing the movie in the cinema the other day removed the initial disappointment. IMHO cinematography is the top notch. Being a fan of the series and everything surrounding it I've noticed some details that gave homage to Jodorowsky and Lynch. I would say that costumes have some inspiration from the Lynch movie which IMHO had great costumes and the new Dune also has great costumes. Looking forward to see Navigators and the emperor in the sequel. Speaking of the costumes, the mini series had super awful ones where Sardaukars there looked like f-ing bards. Just awful. Next, the scene of Giedi Prime palace reminded me so much to the Giger's concept art that he made for Jodorowsky. Last, but not the least vehicles look exceptionally good. The only downside for me is that the movie ends up with cliffhanger, but with great box office results so far I think that it is just matter of day when the second part will be green lit (hopefully the third part as well which would cover Dune Messiah). Dune is a special sci-fi series. It is more about philosophy than the action and descriptions like other sci-fi classics. That being said it is not easy to put the material like Dune to the silver screen. Regarding the Lynch's version I watched it when I was kid for the first time and I could not understand anything. However, watching it later after being familiar with the Dune lore a bit better I could not say that the movie was bad, more like misunderstood because it is difficult to put so much things into a single movie. EDIT: I forgot to add another homage to Jodorowski. In the first trailer there is a version of the Pink Floyd song Eclipse. Jodorowsky had a deal with Pink Floyd to make soundtrack for his version of the movie which was never filmed. Being fan of the DUne and Pink Floyd I could immediately figure that bit out :)
  17. Personally I dislike multiplayer in general. Not my thing at all because I want to play games how I want, when I want and if I want to stop in the middle of the game I can do it. The last time I played Call of duty game it had single player campaign. I know that people are generally not buying CoD for single player only, but what happens in that case? Is that anti cheat system still installed and required for playing? Also on the topic of spying from the data in the memory. Everyone is like if China gets your data it is the end of the world. For me it is inexcusable to steal personal data and I don’t give a flying fuck if the perpetrators are Chinese, US, Zimbabwean, they should be all treated the same as pieces of shit.
  18. When you get in that age that you start to accumulate tools
  19. A new pair of Arc’teryx shorts. A bit pricey, but they are stylish, easy to climb with them and I don’t have to empty pockets while wearing harness.
  20. I believe from the tone and the context of my post one could extrapolate the fact that I was not speaking about tribal tattoos like what Maori people have, but about westerners.
  21. Although I am pretty open minded towards tattoos here are two examples which never looks good - neck tattoos. Small tattoos on side of the neck are fine, fully tattooed neck doesn’t look nice. It always looks way too much. - face tattoos. I don’t think that any explanation is necessary. Also how the f*** something that looks like as if toddler was trying to draw with sharpie on someone’s sleeping face is considered cool, good looking or anything positive? It looks like shit, period.
  22. I’ve decided to step up my climbing game so I ordered hangboard to increase my finger strength.
