  1. hmm ok so it happened again after a few hours of playing after I reset the bios. Currently trying the card in another PCI slot and tomorrow im going to test it in my buddies system
  2. ok I got a new power strip because my old one wasnt looking so good anymore and I also have reset my bios. Everything is good now so far. Usually it would happen within the first few minutes of a game but after about an hour its all good. I will report back if something else happens
  3. hmm well I plugged it into the wall instead of that power strip and I went for about 15 minutes with no crash so im gonna guess that it was just the power strip for now until it happens again
  4. hmm it only seems to happen to me while I am in games. It always happens within the first few minutes of a game it seems too. I have never had it happen when I am just browsing the internet or anything more casual. I will try resetting the bios when I get some more free time though. Would plugging the pc directly into the wall instead of a power strip be better though? I have also been meaning to get a battery backup but I just havent yet
  5. curious, what psu were you using in that system? Evga guy told me it could be that my psu isnt delivering good consistent power
  6. I called EVGA and they told me to try it in another system which makes sense, but he also told me it could be the psu. Ive got a cx750m, I know its on the lower end for corsair but youd think it should be good enough to run my pc right?
  7. I have already done that, I even used DDU and completely reinstalled them all
  8. I am reposting this here because I didnt get any replies on r/techsupport, this is really giving my some trouble and I dont know what to do Operating System Windows 10 Computer Specs (PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, Motherboard) corsair cx750m, EVGA GTX 970SC, 4790k, 16GBDDR3, z87-g45 Speccy Link N/A Description of problem Randomly while I am playing games (it happens in lots of games, fortnite, bf4, dayz, gta5 ect.) my computer screens will go black and I cannot interact with my computer. I can still hear audio for a bit though. I have to hold the power button down to shut off, reset doesnt fix it. My monitors day no signal or signal lost When this issue began While ago but it is happening more often Recurring issue Yes Date of purchase gpu was bought in summer of 2015 Under Warranty Yes Cause/Steps to recreate the issue All I gotta do is load up a game, play a few minutes and it happens What I've tried so far to resolve the issue I have updated my drivers and bios. I have used DDU and done a clean install of nvidia drivers. Temps are fine, they hang around 70c on the gpu. Nothing in my system is currently overclocked. Nothing shows up in event viewer that is giving me a hint as to what the problem is.
  9. the laptop I have now is similar. something like a 6200u 8gigs of ram and a 250gb ssd, but its 15 inches which is kind of big to carry around and its all plastic. Do you have anything else you would chose over it that is similarly specd and similar price?
  10. Yeah, lesson learned on my part. Im shipping it off for rma, and then im going to give it to my sister and ill buy a new one. UX330UA maybe? Thoughts on this machine?
  11. battery hasnt been used a ton because I havent really used the laptop because it is so annoying when it shuts down
  12. Have an acer e5 575g 53vg with a bad battery. Laptop randomly shuts off, it isnt over heating or anything. Any reputable places I can buy a replacement battery? Ive heard horror stories about acers RMA so thats my last option.
  13. All of the critical errors from the random shut downs are the same. Some posts ive read about online think it is a battery issue, and some think it is the battery connection sitting on the socket poorly.
