  1. You need the legacy driver, google it because I've never installed it before and have no idea how to honestly.
  2. Use the drivers that show up under "Additional Drivers" as posted above, keep in mind the upcoming 16.04 release next week will no longer support AMDs proprietary drivers and you will have to use the open source one.
  3. Fired it up and It is very well designed, a bit too OSX for my tastes though so I'll keep looking for now.
  4. I don't think Tesla will sacrifice the drag co-efficient for looks. Musk has stated that the design of the car was unfinished and to expect changes on twitter as well. Id expect an optional more sporty bumper set when ordering.
  5. I saw your other post about Trenta and I was interested. I wished they had more screenshots on their website. As for Chalet I used it on a live usb for while It was clean and I loved the idea of a out of the box conkey intertwined into the distribution. I'll fire it up in a virtual box later and check it out.
  6. Would prefer a Ubuntu base, Deepin actually would have been my choice if they had continued using a Ubuntu base. I'm willing to branch out but not on my primary computer for now.
  7. I just make it more to my taste, I try not to go overboard. If i had to stay vanilla I would only use Unity and Pantheon.
  8. Since Ubuntu 15.04 released I have been using Ubuntu Gnome on both my laptop and desktop. I like it a lot but I still want to branch out and try a lot of desktops. So when 16.04 releases next week I want to pick something different. I have been leaning on KDE or XFCE. With me already playing around with XFCE in virtual box. I will be customizing the desktop that is picked to my liking and I'll use it for the summer/fall of this year. So I thought I would make it more interesting by asking what you guys think I should try next. I have experience in Pantheon but I never stick around, and I have used Unity for years. I'm willing to go Mint if it is voted but I have had bad experiences in the past with it. If you vote... What kind of theme/icon pack do you really like? I'm curious about what options there are. Feel free to reccomend other Ubuntu based distributions, I won't go outside of Ubuntu for now though. I need something that I'm familiar with for my school work. Here is a screenshot of what I have done on my Xubuntu VBox so far.
  9. Yeah, theres a lot of great ones. This was one of my favorites.
  10. I don't mean it in that way. Living in a rural area means not many people buy Tesla's. There is only one Tesla owner in about 40 miles that I know of, and I have only seen that car twice in 5 years.
  11. Looks good, I wonder if I'll ever see the face lift on the road.
  12. http://www.amazon.com/Panda-Ultra-150Mbps-Wireless-Adapter/dp/B00762YNMG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00
  13. Until Tesla hits mass production they are an engineering sinkhole, all their money goes into development of the technology and ramping up production.
  14. So nobody can help me with this issue?
  15. You need at least dual core intel cpu capable of high clocks, so a i3, while an i5 is reccomended. You also need a dedicated graphics card that is better than intergraded intel graphics (the stronger it is, the more improvements you can do to the visuals.) A 750ti is perfect. So if you need a monitor and periferals with this build its nigh impossible. I'll mess around on pcpartpicker though and find out. Here is the Dolphin benchmark spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkEUvobPn_DcdEo2aEhhdUpnU01tYUtNM3ZVX2d6SkE&usp=sharing
  16. Agreed, Elementary is the perfect OS for those who want to use Linux caually, and only casually. Grandmothers, children, or those who just want to try something new can all get behind how easy it is to use Elementary.
  17. LXDE is a fantastic desktop, it had few bugs and is lightweight. Go for it!.
  18. So the WiFi in my college dorm is unusable, the signal is unbearable and there is no way for me to boost it since the college requires you to install certificates in order to login. So I have been using a USB WiFi stick that I bought specifically to tether my Ethernet connection into my dorm room, giving internet to all my devices. This works fine and dandy on Ubuntu, I log in and connect to the "hidden network" that is the hotspot (i set it up beforehand with kde connection editor) and I can use it no issue. However, on Windows I have to use a program like mHotspot in order to crate the connection, and then I have to manually bridge the connection in the connection settings. This would be fine as well if it was not for the fact that this connection is completely unreliable. It cuts in and out and my Wii U cannot detect it period. Does anyone know a way to get a reliable tethered connection on Windows? mHotspot, Virtual Router, and the CMD process all do not work, even with the work arounds. (mHotspot works the best but I noted my issues earlier). I have the latest drivers and everything, I just have no idea what's causing this. I'm using a Panda Wireless Low-Range USB 2.4Ghz stick. I get a signal only in my room and the signal is strong, I can provide screenshots off of a wifi analyzing app if needed. Tl/Dr: Tethering WiFi on my usb WiFi stick works perfect on Ubuntu but is sketchy and unreliable on Windows, any solutions?
  19. Tesla used to boast heavily that the low center of gravity was great on snow/ice even with rear wheel drive, and then they got 4 wheel drive on the S and it pretty much became a beast. Id expect the 3 to be great for its size, but there's no real way to know till the reviews start...
  20. Well my desktop is currently under my bed so I can't hear it at all, even at full load. But on a desk the HDD is the loudest part.
  21. A lot of the work put into the Chevy is from patents Tesla made publicly available, the only thing Chevy had to make was the Motor and Battery arrangement. (excluding typical design costs, those are completely Chevy) Of course Tesla made these available in hopes of getting more competition in the EV market, which it did. I'm not hating on Chevy for doing so, it helps speed up innovation, but at the same exact price point i'm willing to wait for a Tesla than to get the Chevy. Tesla also has the Supercharger network and it is a huge selling point for the Tesla.
  22. Tesla created this technology, Chevy only adapted it. This may change in the future, but for now while they are at competitive prices I will go with the innovator over the adapter. Of course if Tesla is still true to their word they would love it if you bought a Bolt.
  23. I really liked the Tegra 3 in my old Nexus 7, was quite snappy. Now if only nvdida would actually put work into their chips for something other than android gaming.
