  1. Are there even any empty ram slots left? For the SSD, just find whatever is on sale at the moment.
  2. Updating the WIFI card is probably a unnecessary. If you have more computers, or are into computers having a simple ssd laying around is never a bad idea. If you are contemplating on buying a chromebook anyways, simply keep the laptop and install a light version of Linux. And then perhaps add the SSD. 4GB should be just enough for browsing if you are using Linux. Also you don't need to buy the fastest SSD, just a cheap SATA one with okay specs should be fine (though most SSD's match the max sata speed anyways). You might want to find out if your laptop is capable of SATA 6GB/S in the first place.
  3. You're not going to be doing a heck ton of UE4 on a $600 laptop but perhaps something like an Acer Spin 3, Lenovo yoga-530 of HP Pavilion x360 could be something for you?
  4. Hi, I've been running my computer for almost a year now and never ran into an issue, until a few days ago. Whenever I try to boot up my computer by pressing the power button, the lights and fans come on for about a few hundred milliseconds after which the computer shuts down with a click. (it sounds like a relay) If I want to reproduce the issue I have to completely disconnect the power from my system, re-plug it and try again. So I thought that either my power supply or motherboard was broken. After trying a different power supply however, my computer worked. So conclusion: power supply broken, motherboard/cpu good. Well, not so fast. If I try to jump my PSU is seems to function normally. I took my server computer apart to use that to test the PSU and it seems to work absolutely fine, even after a stress test. I tried a lot, unplugging literally everything from the motherboard, I checked for shorts, I reset my BIOS, I updated my BIOS, re-seated my CPU, and I replaced my CMOS battery. My PC specs are: - Seasonic FOCUS PLUS 700 - Gigabyte Designare EX x399 - AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 1950x - NVIDA GTX 660 - 2x Samsung 970 evo m.2 SSD's - quite a bunch of fans My Server specs are: (for reference) - ASUS P8Z67 PRO - Intel i5-2500 - 2X samsung 840 SATA SSD - 4X seagate IronWolf HDD's - Radeon HD 5770 I'm at whits end to what is causing my issue. Perhaps my server can't pull the amps that my main can during booting? Still I find that to be far fetched. If anyone knows anything to help it would be very much appreciated.
  5. @Wolf ~ IRONI So much for the silicon lottery I guess...
  6. Hi, I'm buying a pc, and couldn't order my ram because it went out of stock everywhere. I wanted the G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3600C17Q-32GVK. It seemed to be the highest spec memory I could get for my motherboard, the gigabyte designare EX x399. The ram compatibility sheet is here: http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_x399-designare-ex_v1.pdf I already assumed it wasn't possible for me to combine two kits of: F4-3600C16D-16GVK. (Can someone confirm) Now for the actual question. The following ram: G.Skill Trident Z F4-3600C17Q-32GTZ seems to have pretty much the same specs as my ram of choice. It doesn't show up in the memory list however. So would this ram work? What other ram would you recommend? I already went all out on the rest of the parts so I don't intend saving on the ram. Important specs: gigabyte designare EX x399 w/ AMD Ryzen TR 1950x. Using an AOI so cooler clearance shouldn't be an issue.
  7. Thanks y'all for your quick answers, though it was pretty much the answer I expected. I'll just ask my websjop for a new one.
  8. Hi, I recently ordered an enermax liqtech oc tr4 360. It came in a box and inside the box the cooler was wrapped around in a plastic bag. The problem is that that plastic bag had quite a few drops of liquid in it. How concerned should I be? Should I just ask my webshop to repair it or give me a new one? Right now I'm not putting this thing in my system. BTW, its the water block bag that had the liquid in it. Also sorry for the bad picture quality. Thanks in advance, Tthecreator
  9. Awesome!, I'd like the New Razer Blade 2014, because I do still want a good gpu in it. I mainly do programming but I do want it to have some graphics power, for if i'm working with unreal engine or something else. Anyways, Congrats to linus and the whole team for 3000000 subscribers.
  10. I whould like one, i've now got 2 GTX660's and no i don't use ski as that is unstable AF. But it would be useful to have a new GPU as this one is a little old now
  11. This is a usefull projector, you can take it with you anywhere and know that you can put it in a place where nobody will sit in front of it.
  12. Jezus man, how do you add a video to your post? Edit: fixed it, paste only the link.
  13. So here's my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMCSok1a81I That was the fulllength version. But since linus only accepts 30 seconds, I also made a short version.(not as good as the total one.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTFcWQlr3p0
  14. You are right. but linus also said some other things in the video than on the website or the forum post. the website sais you can't make 3 video's, linuses video sais you can. The website should have said it although it's not being managed by linus himself. I completely forgot about it in the video. But now, I made a version under 30 seconds. I took my favorite scene and shortened it(it's now way less awesome than it was first tough). I now hope that it will go fine because i'm really sad because i had to shorten it soo much. thats why i'm going to put up a main video and an alternative shorter one. Linus can watch the shorter one by clicking on an annotation appearing on the screen as you start the video, and because you can give more youtubers up on the LG website. I can hope that lewis will watch the full version.
