  1. Wack that this was a reddit poll when there's a first party forum, also didn't we all get rid of reddit over their shenanigans this year Or was that just me ;-; In any case, i agree w fairphone or the nothing phone!
  2. I'd be kind of curious to see how recommendations for pre-builts on forums or even from ChatGPT stack up against these systems. Though, that might be an unfair battle since they could look across multiple manufacturers and multiple retailers.
  3. I think it was interesting to see consumer GPU performance in the data science space. As such, I feel like it would be a valuable benchmark to add to GPU reviews when you guys make them... though I have a side interest in data science/machine learning so I couldn't say if the greater ltt community feel the same way
  4. That's a shame, though it is understandable that with such a large community moderation would be very difficult. But I also think there should be some sort of compromise. Maybe make the server boosters only (like wsb) or make it floatplane / lttstore.com purchasers only or something. But w/e
  5. Yikes, I mean is there any reason as to why the Discord is closed to new joins?
  6. There's none of that licensing BS If you work in a technical field (development or server maintenance) having system supported bash and ssh access is wonderful I think that the main difference for me is that when I use a Linux machine vs anything else, I feel like I'm actually using a computer, not just clicking mindlessly on a screen. IMO that comes from the fact that Linux is developed without the corporate mindset, prioritizing features that people will use rather than the features that people think that they want. What this means is you get a lot of functionality without all of the nonsense holding you back The level of customization that you have is UNREAL Package managers are actually a godsend, it's so much easier to make sure that your stuff is kept up to date when you use a package manager rather than using a bunch of launchers or individual programs Of course because there is no monetary incentive, things can seem a little unpolished in some areas, but personally I find that's some of the charm. I enjoy spending the time to figure out what needs to be done to my system to get it working again. I view it like the process of building computers. I think we can all agree that we love the process of going through a new PC build, taking any problems that it might throw our way in stride. To me this is an extension of that -- you only build your computer once, unless you have lots of disposable income, it's likely to be a while before you can do it again but if you have Linux you can continue to do some of that tinkering over time while you use your system
  7. I recently got a Google Home Mini for my dorm room and I was setting up my daily news stuffs when I realized that it would be very nice to get my YouTube news on there all at once. So, I went over to Google Podcasts and found that Philip Defranco is already on there and up to date as well as the WAN show, but TechLinked only has the first episode ever. Would it be possible to get the TechLinked podcast page kept up to date?
  8. Okay, so today i decided that I was gonna swap out the already installed op amp for the one that they shipped with the motherboard. Everythign went well, but, I don't seem to notice the difference. I tried googling what exactly the OP Amp does, but didn't find anything, just got more confused than before. I remember though, it's like supposed to change the way the audio sounds, but as I didn't notice, I thought i was mistaken. Lastly, if I wanted to change it for a different one, would any OP Amp that I can find on the internet work, or would it have to be a specific one?
  9. Erm, my favourite product in the giveaway is probably the case because the one that i have right now looks like it was made in the 90's, LOL.
  10. I just realized that the winners are going to be drawn the day before my birthday, would be an epic birthday gift.
