  1. As a recent buyer of an Alienware M17 here is my take. I'm an immigrant and often move between countries/jobs. This makes my PC very impractical if not impossible to take with me so until recently it just sat in my parents home not being used while I'm abroad for most of the year. I'm also a person who hates using mobile devices, my phone is only used for emergencies and when I need something but don't have access to a PC. For me there is nothing like sitting comfortably on a chair, in front of a decently sized monitor with a full size keyboard and a proper mouse. So I needed something that gets me as close as possible to that experience while it also being able to fit in a backpack. I'm not going to use it while in the process of traveling but at the destination I'm staying at itself, so size and weight doesn't matter as long as it fits in a backpack. That would mean a laptop with the largest screen possible, nice keyboard and a thick chassis that can keep everything nice and cool. The Alienware M17 seemed like the closest thing to what I want - nice 17" 4K IPS display with HDR and 120hz refresh rate, one of the very few laptops available with a mechanical keyboard, nice choice of customization options(besides the screen and keyboard, I also went with the AMD 6800H, 32GB ram and a 3070ti) and a decently sized chassis that also looks pretty clean and minimalistic(especially with the rgb off) compared to the ugly monstrosities offered from other vendors. Managed to snag it during a sale and using a coupon to get even more off the price, so it ended up not being expensive too. Been pretty happy so far with my choice, good for movies, good for games, should be be able to even do some creative stuff like 3D rendering/animation.
  2. Was this an LG ad? Because Linus' impressions doesn't make sense. This "monitor" have the exact ppi(91.97) ratio as a 24" 1080p display which is not good.. like I can definitely see the individual pixels, even on my 27" 1440p which is 108.79 ppi. How can Linus say 48" 4K looks better than a 27" 2K when the later has a higher pixel density. I just can't imagine how this is usable given normal eye distance to monitor, the size of the monitor itself and the low pixel density.
  3. This thing has great potential. Much simpler and cheaper design than the ones using hydraulics. If only the price was more reasonable and they improved their software.
  4. I am amazed this thing managed to be delivered to you without it being blown into pieces during shipping. Still, bad product though, they should have laminated the side facing the TV so it doesn't blow and scratch the screen.
  5. Sorry for the late reply, barely audible for me as well, completely random and doesn't go with hearth rate. Another thing that I think helped with not noticing it, is me getting a new PC some time ago with the damn Ryzen stock cooler that constantly changes rpm and creates audible static noise so idk.
  6. Fuck me, why did I click on this thread.. Same issue, it drove me nuts going outside to check if a truck is passing by or wtf. At some point I must have completely forgotten(my brain probably learned to filter/ignore it) about it because it's been like 2 years since I've noticed it.. until I read your post I've never considered checking it with a doctor since I've never had any hearing issues. If you get diagnosed please leave a reply because I'm curious what could be the cause.
  7. Irrelevant to the thread but something that I've been wondering. What's up with your video titles not mentioning the product the video is about? I get the catchy titles makes it more likely for your subscribers to check the video but aren't you losing views by not mentioning the product? For example searching for "Easythreed X1 Mini 3D Printer" in google/youtube doesn't show your video anywhere in the results.
  8. Stupid question but will pointing a computer fan(or something) at it while it's printing help with cooling and improve quality? If the "smearing" issue can be fixed with some DIY it would be an incredible bang for your buck printer. A quick googling says that is mostly BS.
  9. Come on Linus, you put the MAC in the cabinet but didn't close the door? During the whole video I was wondering "will the protruding handles on the MAC prevent the door from closing". Disappointed to not see my curiosity answered.
  10. Just found about this drama. Though Lew has done some shady shit in his past in regards to his channel(like that fake "truck full of iPhones" giveaway)I don't think he is in the wrong here. I don't see how you can copyright a phone case given that it has to follow the shape of the phone it's supposed to be used on. If you're making a thin slim case for a certain phone you don't have much of a choice when it comes to the design(shape). PITAKA didn't invent carbon fiber/kevlar/whateverthefuckitsmadefrom or making products out of it, the material and texture aren't unique either. The design language of that case and it's functionality is just way too generic for it to be copyrighted. Now how both parties chose to handle the whole situation is a different story but I don't really care about that so I'm not going to comment on it. With that said, personally I find both cases to be overpriced for what they are so if it were me, I'd just buy one off alliexpress for like $5
  11. I see. I'm not an expert obviously so given the info released we got, all I can do is speculate. The numbers on the thickness are from here . Idk what their sources are but they make sense to me given the demonstration with the sledgehammer. No details on the weight but I'm curious if it's going to be something massive.
  12. Something I didn't see anyone commenting on, is how this truck is a massive coffin. Take in mind the following - retractable door handles with electronic locks(already proven unreliable on the model s), body made of bulletproof 3mm thick steel panels, armored glass, massive lithium ion battery. Now imagine you're driving all that and you get involved in a nasty crash, how the fuck are you supposed to escape that? Electronics are messed up resulting in seized doors, you can't brake the glass because it's armored, even if you manage to crack it with those tools for breaking windows, it's "sandwich" laminated(any sort of armored/bulletproof glass is) on the inside so you can't break it off.. but hey, EMT arrives.. and they can't do shit - flushed door handles whos electronics have failed and didn't popped up, armored glass, don't have the tools to cut the body because it's designed for normal cars made from 0.8mm easily to cut through soft metal but the cybertruck is made from 3mm thick steel panels. Did I mentioned all of this is sitting on a massive battery that is very likely to catch fire the moment you crash? It baffles me how unsafe the truck seems and what's even the point of all this? It's cool that the body is very touch and can withstand abuse but is it worth it? Exoskeleton, really? When it's shown with the doors open you can see that it's just an unibody with flat panels attached on it instead of curved ones. And what's with the trend on new cars(tesla are not the first one to make the side windows tougher) to make the side windows laminated(like the windshield), I'd rather get some scratches from the tiny glass pieces from the broken window during a crash than not being able to escape instead. Also the already mentioned everywhere bed that can't be loaded from the sides(also lacking bed liner and hook attachments for tying stuff), no side mirrors, no hitch for trailers(though it's show to tow one in one of the renders), questionable visibility due to the way the massive A-pillar is positioned on the front and a bunch of other things. With that said, I like the idea of tesla releasing something that radical(I love the cyberpunk/80's futurism inspired aesthetic), but at this point it looks very poorly thought out. It makes a nice technical for isis though EDIT: wording
  13. I don't think this is a good choice of sponsor given that most of your audience is tech savy enough to not need an AV. Unless you're someone's grandma/pa who downloads and clicks on every facebook ad and installs whatever "the thing on the screen" told them to, or someone who need an AV for commercial/office/business purposes, AVs are useless for you. They are mostly bloatware, slowdown your system, constantly give false positives about random stuff that're perfectly safe not to mention even delete important stuff, and they won't protect you against a modern(newly updated virus/rat). Reading the comment on youtube from pissed off people who had to use the product from the AV company that you chose for sponsor, it looks like you did not picked even remotely decent AV company to sponsor you. As someone who download a lot of pirated shit I've never had an issue with viruses since the windows XP days, ironically that was the only time that I used AV software. Now it is possible that my PC is part of a botnet since I don't use a dedicated av(I'd disable windows defender too If I could without getting annoying reminders that it's off) bit for the last decade I'm yet to have any issues in that regard and I pirate shit constantly. Although even an AV wouldn't protect against that give how easy is to fool them.
  14. Not what I expected from the title. You guys should have showed the weird shit that people buy. Watching a video about what ram a bunch of dudes bought is boring. You should make a following video showing the weirdest items bought using your link.
  15. Not what I expected given the title of the video but still very interesting.
