Honestly I think we have the best chance of going through the Aussie courts. They are pretty hardcore on consumer protection. If we can get them to require a company open source a hosting package upon spinning down a non-mmo game, that would fix it globally

Yeah, i just got it to boot, the cpu and dram lights were on, but I just reseated them and it works fine! It didn't have any storage drives in it.

Wingfan reacted to Levent in What are games that'll make my entire PC cry [require alot of cpu AND gpu power]
What? Tell your parents that your room is too cold then. None of this makes any sense. If you want demanding games, take a look at the AAA games released in the last 4-5 years. Any game with RTRT is demanding enough for current GPUs. As far as CPU goes, as long as you are pushing high frames it will get used enough.

If you want to " performance test" then use 3dmark. Otherwise your data will not be compareable to anyone elses.

Not really. That's normal here in NA. Our price tags don't have tax included for what ever odd reason.
If you're ever traveling here and see something for $9.99, it's actually $9.99 plus what ever sales tax there is locally.

Christmas is a LONG ways away.. Come back when you are close to buying parts.
By the time Christmas comes we will have had many new parts release pushing prices of older components down even more.
Hardware prices change month by month, no point in looking at anything right now.

I would say that you should get a 5700X3D, a Thermalright peerless assassin cooler to keep noise levels down as this was a complaint.
Spend the rest on a new GPU.

Edit: Damn, Canadian Rubles aint a joke! a 5700X3D is 330 bucks.

Buy a new CPU cooler and a GPU 🙂 Thats it

Hard to consider what took place if you don't know (and you don't).

As for the appropriateness of the joke, we've always been PG / PG-13. I don't think there's really gonna be an overall change there. A self-deprecating joke about one's own promiscuity/infidelity is well in-bounds, and watching that get turned into trivializing sexual harassment has been bizarre to behold. Projection is for watching movies, not posting in forums.

Wingfan reacted to GuiltySpark_ in 780X3D VS 7900X3D
7800x3D and 7950x3D are near identical and swing a few % points either way depending on the game. Effectively the same experience (in gaming).

7900x3D is the red headed step child and IMO is a pointless SKU that they made just because they can and uninformed people will pay for it. You're only getting 6-cores in each CCD.

For gaming, you'd pick 7950x3D over 7800x3D for two reasons and two reasons only.

You have a legitimate dual purpose gaming / workstation system that truly will benefit from 16 cores for non-gaming tasks. You are a bigger number better person and don't care what it costs even if it makes no difference.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by imported, nearly all GPU's are made in china/taiwan and "imported" to your country.

I am currently finishing my masters in Electrical Engineering, and I work on machine learning/AI models pretty much all day everyday. We recently sold the farm (literally) so I built a new workstation to help with my modeling. Honestly, I don't have much time for gaming anymore but I bet this thing would game like a beast 🤣

    Computer specs:
    Threadripper 7970X, ASUS TRX50-SAGE WIFI mobo, 2x MSI RTX 4090's with EK full coverage blocks, 128GB DDR5 at 6000 MHz, 1x Sabarent Rocket 8TB, 1x Samsung 990 Pro 4TB, Seasonic Prime ATX 3.0 PX-1600 PSU, Case: Corsair 7000D Air-Flow, Fans (All Noctua): 7x NF-A12x25, 4x NF-A12x15, 1x NF-A14.

I am actually fairly proud of the amount of radiators I was able to fit in this case. Mainly putting this out here incase anyone else is curious about what is possible as far as radiators in the 7000D, as this config is definitely not officially supported. They are all EK "White" radiators: 1x P360 X-Flow (Top), 1x P480(Front), 1x S480 (Side), 1x S140 (Rear).

A few mods had to be made: I had to do a little "clearancing" with a Dremel tool on the rear top 120mm fan to get the fittings to....fit. Next, EK's vertical pump mount would (just barely) not fit when mounted to the front rad, as it caused the pump to hit the basement cover. Instead of bolting the pump to the face of the mount as it was intended I cut a larger slot in the mounting bracket and bolted the pump to "backside" of the mount. This gave enough room to fit the pump/res. Due to the length of the EK 480mm rad up front I had to do a also had to give the mounting bracket for the 7000D a little bit of a workover with the Dremel as well. Finally, the original PCI-Express slot metal brackets of the 4090's were triple slot. I wanted to be able to fit the GPU's in the top two slots so that I can use the other slots for more expandability. So I cut down the PCI-Express brackets to dual slot.

Also, I really wanted a distro block for the 4090's but after contacting EK they apparently do not (currently) make a distro block for the their "Vector2" blocks. And because this thing will most likely be getting a set of 5090's whenever they come out, I opted to go with soft-tubing so that it's easy to change out later.

This shows the alternate way of mounting the res:

Most people playing on windows spend very little time troubleshooting. If you are having to do alot of it, there might be a deeper issue with your PC.

Wingfan reacted to Needfuldoer in Is my Brothers Pc okay for Modded Minecraft?
There's probably not much you can do about the graphics (unless it's a mobile chip in a desktop for some reason), but more RAM never hurts. (If he has two sticks of memory, that would help the iGPU a little as well.)

I'd get that PC up to at least 16 gigs across two sticks.

If these mods don't cost anything, you might as well just try them and see how it goes. They won't run as well as on your desktop PC, but they should be playable at the very least.
