  1. If you are planning to have long export times and will be hammering both cpu and gpu simultaneously then either go for a lower powered T-sku cpu or move into a slightly bigger case like the sg13/sg05(smallest volume wise with AIO support), or flat ones like the RVZ01(not that small) or if you are feeling rich the DAN Case A4 I personally find that the sg13 fits in backpacks easier than flat cases as they tend to get very wide/long. But i am currently working on a VT01 case with a gpu slapped on top of it still waiting for parts.
  2. The PSU Spec http://www.hd-plex.com/HDPLEX-300W-Hi-Fi-DC-ATX-Power-Supply-16V-24V-Wide-Range-Voltage-Input.html they will probably ship it with a 330 Ac-DC adapter and has a 94% efficiency on the DC-DC part. which means, as long as you use a T-sku cpu, u can actually use your 1070 But this will be stressing the PSU quite a bit. just dont try to run a server load or 3d rendering or something too heavy for a long period of time Sadly i have no experiance with this brand wish i can give it a test run and torture tests.
  3. yes , it will work just fine. without the need for T sku cpu.
  4. I think you got the efficiency backwards. thats only relevant at the wall.. the psu itself is capable of 300w continuous. As long as the AC-DC power adapter can provide up to 353W. Main problem is actually the 12V rail where its peak at 25amps with cont. of 20amps. With some tweeks its definitely workable.
  5. It will be cutting it very very close. u can get urself a T cpu version and maybe(if needed) undervolt your 1070 by 6% (its normally 150W tdp by the way). Its not recommended but will it work? yes. but really just get a bigger case like the sg05. or diy one mini STX yourself, and two power adapters (1x 12v for gpu and 1x 19v for the stx) it will definitely be smaller.
  6. 300w is enough for your spec, no worries. The GPU might power throttle at times, but you will only see that if you are hammering it maxed out.
  7. turn off the pc, remove the card. turn on, download and run DDU and unsintall ALL graphics drivers. turn off. insert card. turn on, install fresh drivers again. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
  8. I have owned all of the said cases and more actually. Other overhanging PSU designs like the SG05 or SG13 are reversible as to initake from inside or outside and taking air from the mobo area actually helps he airflow since OP is going with an AIO. I have tested this exact build with an overclock 5820k. Im sure pictures are somewhere on the LTT forums. The FT series are bit of a pain in the ass to work with and still have a lot of space wasted. both FTZ, node202 and RVZ01 cant handle AIO, not easily atleast, and they are alot bigger than the SG series. Dear OP, for your build i recommend the SG13 if you are willing to do bit of work, just dont put the HDD mounting plate in, and use the under motherboard SSD mount or just slap it on/beside the psu or something. If you use a PSU where the modular headers are more on one side (example seasonic 860), you can also fit the HDD in there. it will be resting in the top side frame and above the bundle of modular cables. Its quite bit of work, but it will be one heck of a small brick thats full of powaaa. or u can get an SFX PSU, and have no trouble at all note:i had to use big ass psu, due to 5280k+r9 390x (needs a case mod to fit). For you an SFX psu is better. ST450 will allow easy installation of your HDD. ST500-L might be a little cramped still. Both have enough juice to power your system safely. For more powaa, get the asrock x99e-itx. Just hit me up if you need help.
  9. The cooler master ITX cases doesnt really have good airflow. try to stick with Fractal or Silverstone. Much better.
  10. Then all the more reason to get something light 1kg less is alot atleast to me haha. and long enough batter life to not need to bring a power adapter( which adds like another 500-600grams) Good luck with your hunting
  11. AT ATH M50 -- 110usd(refurb) Denon DN-HP700 -- 88 (dj style) AT AH-D1100 -- 75 (new) Aurvana Live! 2 -- 99 (good sound, not so good built quality) Superlux HD668B -- 40 (not so comfy but sounds good) Koss ProDj200 -- 75 (overall good, punchy not boomy) personally i recommend to get a good portable headphone thats comfy enough if you plan to bring it outside. The m50 and d1100 are rather bulky, check out the hp700 or Koss ProDj200
  12. I meant in what way, will it be in the room mostly, do you have to move around alot? if so, how many hours of battery life do you need, ect2
  13. Real world performance, barely noticable unless you have very large data, like 4k RAW footage. You could just use that one as your main OS drive.
  14. im from malaysia actually, but living in germany, and working in netherlands but yeah i thought the prices here are bad. im spoilt with malaysian pricing anyways, there a http://www.wallashops.co.il/מחשב-נייד15-6-80NV00QNIV-Lenovo-16GB-1TB-i7-WIN10/pi7LS80NV00QNIV?cfm=7e05afd1 good price good spec, only problem is its heavy. Its still hard for me to recommend you a quadcore over a mobile chip. really depends on how much you are going to move around and such. Needs more info on how you will be using it
  15. I found this ASUS, good specced but looks gamey. If its anything like the 502vs(i owned), the build quality is even tho plastic, quite good. http://www.zap.co.il/compmodels.aspx?modelid=936774 but that orange colour.... Its so painful too look at the prices there T_T
  16. If it was me i would take the lower price of that ASUS and spend some money on faster storage cus IOPS are important for development, dual core vs quadcore really is application specific. But if you can spend more on something with same spec of that omen but not a HP will be nice. Acer does have thier new VN7. but as u mentioned support isnt good there. MSI is alright, but depends on the model, they make few lemons too razer blade? joking ill take a look later, have some parts to repair now. maybe pendragon can help meanwhile.
  17. Yeah.. HP.. shit consumer series since ever, but its not as bad as before, but they bogged down thier TB3 ports. seesh. Need to be gentle with it. But for OP who wants light gaming, looks, portability and power it its bit unfair to pay as much for the older 7559.i Hes still learning, this isnt for work as well so cant be too expensive. if the 7559 was 30% cheaper perfect. but its very pricey still over there. @keavla Ill have to take a look again at what available in your market. will take a while.
  18. This is why i dont want you to buy more than you actually need. Since you can easy setup a an affordable desktop solution for VMs and the heavy stuff. But if you really need the mobility, i think the omen 15 with 1050/1050 TI is of decent price there. Weight is ok, specs are ok. probably add another 8gb of ram, you will need it. It should suffice for learning and experimenting. But for real full stack work, its passable.
  19. normal work in his case will be chrome, bunch of IDEs and SSH probably on all the time. Macs do better power management with networking being consistenntly but i cant recommend the latest macpro. but it will suit him. This guy wants looks too, so no bulky 6820HK will suit him. Atleast not in Israel. So Aorus and Schenkers are out. As it stands the Omen 15 or 17 with its 7700HQ is his best bet, atleast it seems so.
  20. And how long under full load can that 6700HQ sustain. its also down to the TDP design of the laptop/system. In real life its more like an i5 6500. Anyhow, its really depends on you, i have a full stack dev as a close friend and aside from compiling time there isnt much need unless you want to run multiple heavy VMs by which you will want a quadcore with HT or more, but it all depends on how many VMs you want to run at the same time and such. If you want all the features crammed into a laptop, you have to be ready to pay around 2000usd for something like the XPS15. 4K might is not so useful unless your eyes are good(test are small, windows scaling 100%) and love multitasking, which i did enjoy on the older xps15. The omen is alright but i cant vouch for HP quality, it should be fine with thier premium lineup
  21. Are you doing any software compiling or anything that requires alot of CPU compute? or VM? If its just daily work, HQ really is pointless own multiple notebooks from core m3 all the way to 6700hq with a gtx 1070 and i can safely say for normal work and light gaming having that HQ CPU is just draining battery and giving off alot of heat. Just to be safe, can you tell me exactly what you will be using it for? you can use this website for comparison. its alot better: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-6700HQ-vs-Intel-Core-i7-7500U/m34954vsm171274
  22. yup. U processors for Notebooks and mobility. the HQ and HK CPU will drain your battery like mad and still no where near the performance of desktop CPUs. If you are doing CPU compute work maybe a HQ CPU is worthwhile. for normal work high clocked U is enough.
  23. Sure why not. Unless they are IDE/PATA drives which is bit problematic to connect to the SATA Controller, need adapters. Im amazed they are still working after 10 years
  24. Any 1600MHz ddr3 Sodimm + SSD + Fresh install of windows 8/10. Remove all the crap software. Disable most startup applications. Should feel pretty brand new. Oh, clean the insides too and maybe apply new thermal paste. Have fun with your new notebook.
