DoctorNick got a reaction from Ozzieh_man in New build plan
The arctic is better because you'll be able to run lower fan speeds. Also if you set AIO as intake you'll be able to get lower temps because GPU is not exhausting hot air over CPU area. I would also get the corsair case over the deepcool, unless you want to save 30 euros.

DoctorNick reacted to jaslion in LTT videos shot with the Blackmagic 12K?
It would be useless since those are heavily edited to remove noise.
Also hi basic internet safety remove your real name and close location.
Best to look at actual reviews of the product and raw shot footage. Llt has neither that is up to date

DoctorNick reacted to TatamiMatt in Is the rx 7700 xt a goob substitute for a 4060 ti 16gb?
They sold you that processor in 2017? it was 7 years old already
Yeah the 7700xt will be a MASSIVE upgrade over the 1050
This is the 6800xt vs 1050Ti, both are slightly better than their counterparts (7700xt and 1050 respectively) so dont look at the numbers but the comparison should be similar

This seem like a nice build. I would go with Arctic liquid freezer III 360/420 though. Especially if choosing the H9

DoctorNick got a reaction from Black__Jack in Razer Blade 15 - Rtx 4070, Intel® Core™ i7,i7-13800H good enough for a while?
Good point, its also very light at 2.1kg. I found this beauty though. 2.3kg and 14900HX rtx 4070, 165hz display for 2100:

Something like this, with AMD CPU could also be ok, if mostly for gaming:

Aight so that eliminates the flagships. This is the best hard value for competitive/optimized settings 1440p144, with @jaslion GPU-CPU combo being my step up with a monitor.

Achieved including a screen even. If you put a 3090 in there it will be a faster gaming pc than your build. Or save a shitload of money for a 20% slower card.
Case is quite big id downsize that a bit

Yes either get 7800X3D or 14900K/KS for maximum gaming

DoctorNick reacted to Levent in Folder sharing in Windows: holy ****
Pretty sure your issue is with one client and has nothing to do woth your server. SMB server works quite painlessly from my own experience.
Windows is the worst piece of shit operating system that is currently being sold as a product.
I also had this problem numerious times, I have had to clear my credentials in credential manager.

DoctorNick reacted to kennethk in Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE V2 usb keyboard issue
Guess the pc gods decided to smile on me. I inserted a m.2 with windows installed and I was able to go into bios by default they switch off usb legacy, supper annoying considering we're in a age where we belive PS/2 connectors shouldn't exist on motherboards.

DoctorNick reacted to Somerandomtechyboi in MSI MPG B650 Edge WIFI + 7800X3D Red CPU light/flashing issues
Return mobo
Usually its the mobo and never the cpu since defective cpus are very rare and the mobo is the #1 most error prone component aside from ram and youve already tested your ram so dud board rma and get a replacement
And if you get a refund instead of a replacement the b650e taichi lite might be an interesting option depending on price since its a top end board with usb4 on the rear i/o + tons of usb3 ports, postcode, and eclk for overclocking that 7800x3d, yes it also has wifi

DoctorNick reacted to Levent in Did i get scammed
$40 for a grey key is always getting scammed in my eyes.
-
DoctorNick reacted to Poinkachu in is this safe?
Safe as long there is no exposed wire.
That kind of cable is pretty cheap, so just replace with a new one.
-
DoctorNick reacted to GamerDude in Thermaltake Core P8 Riser Cable
It should work, you might initially get a display when you power on, but best way to check is to run HWInfo, GPUZ to check if the GPU is running as spec'ed.....that is, IF the mobo is PCIe 3.0x16/PCIe 4.0x16, that the card is running at that spec, and not PCIe 1.0/1.1 or whatever the case may be. When I was looking for a GPU riser, I'd read that the Linkup riser I'd gotten was the only one guaranteed to work at PCIe4.0 x16, and it did, still does. Again, nothing wrong with trying out the GPU riser cable that came with the case.....tech might have improved since last year when I got mine that just about any riser works perfectly, who knows?!

DoctorNick got a reaction from silencer12 in Is PM850D good?
No not really. If it last for 5 years it got a pretty good chance at lasting for 10
