that isn't a bad idea although there is some extra risk/trouble running naked.  Like @Thx and Bye said, there are some possible issues like losing ram channels, spotty boot issues, complete no-boot issues and the increased chance of bending pins.

If you are careful and follow the directions, you shouldn't have any issues going straight naked.  Most of the issues I've seen others encounter have been from under tightening the block or using too much liquid metal TIM (it only take a TINY bit and it must be spread out to a thin layer!). The naked kit directions say specifically to tighten it all the way down and I have personally found even a single turn less can cause issues.

ALSO they do have delidding tools now which are pretty much fool proof.  Because SOMETHING about sticking an i7 in a vice still doesn't seem right

Yeah i saw that you must spread the liquid metal. And if i decide to delid and naked dye ill trust in EK to prevent my cpu from being completely crushed lol.

As for sticking an I7 in a vice, it seems so counter intuitive its great lol

I have increased them and it made no difference to cpu temps, it makes a difference to gpu but no cpu
If i delid ill get a bigger difference cause haswell. Room is always 20c and as for water temp, i dont have a sensor yet, but if the gpu is around 26c,  the water temp should be lower than that.

Yeah you know SSD's are more reliable than HDD's right? Specially in a use case scenario that the user could be moving around while the laptop is on.

HDD's sure love some extra vibrations.

Legit websites can be compromised. This is an important fact that people seem to just ignore. LTT is vulnerable to attacks, as shown by the big password leak we had. Malware was on the server, remaining dormant.

And people are using this to be the end-all-be-all to security. "As long as I avoid these websites, I'll be okay." While that is mostly true, the minute they encounter malware, they'll likely be fucked. And they'll wish they had something that would most likely be able to stop it from happening in the first place.

That being said, I don't like when people say "I've been using X antivirus for Y years and never had any issues with viruses." Of course you wouldn't have issues with viruses if you've never encountered them in the first place, which also means that if you've never encountered them, you've no idea the actual effectiveness of the program you're using.

This is my view on the issue: Run a proper antivirus and firewall program, keep your OS and programs(especially Java and Adobe Flash) up-to-date, and avoid bad websites. And in the event that you do encounter malware, KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR SYSTEM. That is perhaps the most important aspect - It allows you to restore back to a clean state before encountering the malware, and of course keep it stored away from the actual system such as on a NAS or external hard drive which is not connected.

Screen to size ratio? Seriously? 70% on the LG G5 vs 72% on the S7? Not that big of a difference.

    Camera bump? Both have it.

I just didn't approve of the direction Samsung went for with the Galaxy S6 in the first place. The S7 is just what the S6 should have been in the first place.

post config, or if your lazy, just use the GUI, make sure you update the firmware first (1.8a is the latest?, but that's alpha, so go 1.7), gives you access to the wizard to do it for you.

But in all seriousness, it's pretty basic config work, just run the wizard then export the config/boot file and use that as a template/starting point. when you have your config setup, upload the new config, do a re-boot and your good. Give it 30mins or so and you'll understand the syntax and what not. Don't focus so much on the commands as they change between vendors (Cisco and HP's CLI/config files are very similar).

What? LG makes awesome phones, LG G4, V10 just being some example. Try being a bit less biased

They actually still have features on their smartphones that other manufacturers have abandoned.

Theo reacted to Glenwing in Buying a 2K monitor or 4K?
    0. 3840×2160 is a 4K resolution because it is ~4000 (4K) pixels horizontally, likewise 1920×1080 is a 2K resolution since it is ~2000 pixels horizontally, and 2560×1440 is a 2.5K resolution. Just something to keep in mind. 1440p is not a 2K resolution.

    1. 3840×2160 is like a 2×2 grid of 1080p monitors, so you gain quadruple screen real estate in theory, but this is only if you leave scaling at 100%. In practice, you will probably not gain that much screen real estate. If you could imagine a 24" monitor being divided into 4 quadrants, and shrinking your 1080p screen and everything displayed on it into one quadrant of that monitor, you will be able to fit much more stuff but of course all of your applications and text would be extremely tiny. You would need to have applications be scaled up to a readable size, like the same size they'd be on a 24" 1080p monitor. Since a 4K monitor has many more pixels, everything would be sharper, but applications would still take up the same amount of space on the screen if you scaled everything all the way up to 200%. A 1440p 24" monitor at 100% is about as low as most people are comfortable without any scaling, so if you got a 4K monitor you'd probably have to scale everything up to a similar size anyway, so the amount of screen real estate gained on a 4K vs 1440p monitor is pretty much equivalent, unless it's a very large (32"+) 4K monitor which you may not need to use scaling on.

    2. Yes, you can lower games to 1920×1080 resolution on a 1440p or 4K monitor and it will still fill up the screen without any black bars etc.

    3. Whether everything is tiny or not depends on your scaling settings, which are adjustable to however you like. You can make things tiny if you want, but Windows 10 scaling will allow you to make everything the same size as it would be on a 1080p monitor, or a size inbetween if you want.

    4. Scaling is ok. Most programs scale fine but there are some exceptions, such as Origin.

    5. No, the field of view in most games (including League) will be the same on any 16:9 display, regardless of resolution. Since 1080p, 1440p, and 4K are all 16:9 ratios, the actual image will be exactly the same, it will just be rendered with finer detail.
