You could set it to airplane mode and only use wifi. You can stop apps from running too. You could also turn of location services. Uninstall things taking up batteries.

yeah im aware ssd would be much better, but its just for and old laptop, and looking for an hdd for around 20-40 bucks
If you are in the US you can grab 128GB SSD for about 40$ but you need more space you can buy the highest capacity 7mm drive.

Your room could have been hotter. Your PC could be at some amount of load. Heat soak in your computer. It could be a number of things, I would actually try check the thermal paste, because that does seem odd.

What OS is the laptop running?

Hey if you could share your city we could see what stores can help you. Also I would try looking for a Fry's or Microcenter for system build locally.

Okay man, thanks. Will possibly look at custom ROMs, it's just I'm lazy and for what I use the phone for, it'll be fine.
Yeah, I definitely understand what you are saying.

Would definitely recommend getting a 240GB SSD, they are getting pretty cheap at this point. You will be losing size but will gain speed.

Okay, how do I set it as default?
It is nice and simple, install it from the playstore/APK and then when you click a link it will ask what browser you want to use, and just select chrome and shit always.
Also if you want a performance boost and update custom ROM is the way to go, you can get to Marshmallow which would be a huge jump. -
Why do you want to remove the stock browser? You can just install Chrome over it and set it as default. Also removing system apps will require root. Which requires a bootloader unlock most of the time, which will wipe you data. I would also flash an updated ROM if you do decide to unlock the bootloader.

380 it is?
Pretty good value, but hoping for a better Canadian Dollar.

I would buy a used GPU first imo.

really? like how much is it different from america?
i5 6600K are 300$, GTX970 are 420$+, and so are 390s

Your build is a little skewed. The GPU is really low end. I don't know why it is like that. I just whipped this up.

Well laptops are weird, mostly because most consumers aren't a 100% informed. I would image the extra VRAM doesn't cost much extra so they can include more VRAM to up the VRAM number making the laptop more appealing.

1) Yes they will run at USB 2.0 speeds. You could get a PCIe/PCI adapter for USB 3.0 speeds.
-
Your PC is just very old. You can fix this but honestly I would get a new PC. If you spend around 450$ you should be able to get a good enough gaming experience.

Budget? Location? What are the other system specs?

remember that I don't have much space, I'm looking for other relatively small but powerful cards
If you have space problems you could get something like the R9 380 ITX from Sapphire.

not sure about AMD card for his system, that cpu isnt that powerful
might not be able to handle the cpu overhead
But would he still not have the same problem with the 960? Plus isn't he going to get more performance if he upgrades?

It would be more helpful if you provide what device you were actually looking to purchase. This is because there are difference between the different implementations of the processor.
But in general the Core I series CPUs have better performance and more power consumption compared to Core M CPUs. This is more important if you are using applications that require more processing power. For regular use, such as sending emails, taking notes, watching videos, etc., the hardware around the processor will be more important, like having more RAM or an SSD.
