  1. You could get the razer ouroboros, http://www.razerzone.com/au-en/gaming-mice/razer-ouroboros Linus' Unboxing of this mouse: It seems pretty cool especially how you can customise the side grips.
  2. But I am now considering the Blackwidow ultimate keyboard paired with another mouse like either the G500s or the m95. The g9x doesn't interest me, the shape of it just wouldn't work for me I don't think and as for Ducky and Filco, while I am aware of the quality of their products, all of the ones I've seen so far lack some features that I need in a keyboard such as macro keys and media keys, if you can point me towards a Ducky/Filco that has those features then, great that is probably one I would look at getting.
  3. The main reason I originally insisted on same brand is just a personal preference thing. Call me picky or OCD or whatever but I just like to have everything matching for my own personal satisfaction.
  4. Yeah I've gone to JB Hi-Fi but all they carry is the Blackwidow and even then all I could do is play with the arrow keys as it was still in the box, Fell in love with mechanical there and then, though I was trying to avoid Razer as I've never really been a fan of theirs but maybe I should broaden my horizons and go with that one as it does carry Blues and I like the idea of Blues. Should I perhaps abandon this idea of paring the two up and get like a G500s and the Blackwidow? As for features, all I was really looking for was macro keys and media keys which both of those keyboards I originally listed do have and so does the Blackwidow if I remember right, and with the mouse I was looking for something with (preferably) an 8200dpi sensor and more buttons than my current MX-518 has (back and forward buttons on the side and dpi adjusters). The main reason I was leaning towards the Corsairs in the first place is that even though I love logitech I have been using them for years and kind of feel like branching out. As for the k95 I saw Logans look at it when Tek Syndicate went to corsair it seems really cool so I'm in about 4 minds about this lol.
  5. I'm looking to get a new Mouse and Keyboard to replace my current setup of an old (but still good) Logitech MX-518 and a Logitech G110. The reason I'm upgrading the keyboard is I want to go mechanical and I would rather keep the two things in the same brand like I have now as I like to just have matching parts. I've narrowed it down to two I would like at this point: On the Logitech side there is the G710+ keyboard and the new G500s mouse. And on the Corsair side I would like the m95 and k95. Anyone got any thoughts on which would be better, I'm currently leaning towards the corsairs as I like the k95 but I would almost prefer the Brown switches on the 710+ rather than the reds on the k95, but without having used either of those before, I don't know what they actually feel like to use. On that same note, this is a long shot but does anyone on here know where I can go to try these products out in Brisbane, QLD, Australia? The places I buy my gear from are online stores (umart and MSY) and so don't really have any demo models. Also if anyone have any thoughts on the software, I know Logitech's software is amazing as I've used it for many years now, does anyone know how the Corsair software is? Sorry guys for the long winded and multi-faceted question but I like to research a lot before I buy my computer gear. Any help at all would be amazing :)
  6. If it's anything like other alienware products, it will be decent but nowhere near worth the money you would pay. The Razer on the other hand is a cherry MX Blue keyboard and relatively inexpensive for what it is, I would go with that one.
  7. Great giveaway just as I was looking to get a new phone too :) Twitter share @Merry_Steve here https://twitter.com/Merry_Steve/status/339737369739669504
  8. yeah all the sound levels still stay the same, it's just a crazy volume drop. And there should be no random bump or movement cause it often happens while I'm sitting back from the computer watching something
  9. Wow, thanks for all the replies guys, definitely some food for thought here. At this rate I feel like maybe I should just save up and get a proper one like the Dell Ultrasharp, but I have trouble justifying to myself spending $700 on a monitor even though I could definitely use it as I do a lot of colour grading for my film work. I kinda liked the idea behind the Nixeus and things like that, but the fact that they are based in North America doesn't help me much as I live in Australia so even Korea is closer for me to ship a faulty panel back to. At this point in time I think I will still lean towards a Korean monitor but Maybe I'll brave a Crossover rather than the Shimian that I've had my eye on or maybe even look in to a Monoprice monitor. Thanks for all the help guys.
  10. I'm currently having problems with my audio on my PC where at random times while watching a video (on youtube and using VLC) the volume level just drop dramatically and the only way to fix it is to either restart VLC or refresh my youtube page. I'm starting to suspect that my motherboards onboard soundcard is playing up. Does anyone have any thoughts that could help me work out how to solve this problem?
  11. Mine oddly enough came from when I was playing World of Warcraft. I created a death knight just for fun, and called him Wysoseriouss because I liked the idea of having a stuff around character sort of reflect that nature. I then figured that it kinda reflects my feeling about internet gaming in general, so I made it my main username in pretty much anything I play, from LoL to Battlefield and now it is my main username on all the internet.
  12. Currently running an LG 24 inch 1080p monitor, but really want to go 1440p 27 inch soon
  13. I have no real preference so I always go for whichever one is cheaper at the time. Which is why I have a combo of both WD and Seagate in my rig. But if they are the same price I tend to prefer Seagate just because I've been using them longer and have never had one fail. Also at the moment, Seagate Barracuda drives are stupidly cheap so they win for me.
  14. WIndows 8 is awesome, yeah Linus siad that it runs games better, but that's only becuase it is better optimised for multi-core processors, which is aweomse, so people running either an FX8350 or something like an i7 with multi-threading it is the better option for gaming. As for games not working properly, I actually have never encountered problems like what linus was explaining, the only issues I encoutered with games not working were fixed by the devs themselves as the game just needed patching to work properly on 8 and even that was only one or two games. The modern UI is fine once you get used to it and the new shut down procedure actually suits me better than the old one cause you can bring up the charms menu pretty much anywhere. Everything about the actual OS is cleaner, smoother and faster and the new File Explorer and Task Managers are amazing. If you are willing to give w8 a run it will be worth your time to learn the new bits (took me about an hour to get a handle on it). Also, other bonus is it cheaper and will only continue to get better as more people adopt it and Microsoft start doing some serious upgrades like 8.1. P.S. Those boot times, holy crap, I'm running it on a HyperX 3k SSD and it boots in like 5 seconds, ready to go.
  15. I have the thermaltake FRIO payed just a little over $50 for it, I love it but for less than $50 I would have the say the 212 EVO every time
  16. I have a Logitch g110 absolutly love it, the only reason I would get a new one at this point is to get a k95 or a g710+ and go mechanical
  17. Probably the best bang for your buck Case that I've seen here in Australia is the Collermaster HAF-XM. No other case that I know of at its price point comes close to its 3x200mm fans as stock and awesome air flow. The only thing I would criticise about the XM is that 2 of the 200mm fans are mounted on the top with no intake fan on the side, but that's easily changed. But if you're looking for a cleaner look then Corsair and Fractal make some awesome cases at great prices as well as the Bitfenix Shinobi as everyone was mentioning earlier.
  18. I would say out of those 2 go the Titan, but I am agreeing with a few of these posters here that say to get another 670, the 670 is an awesome card on its own and 2 of them in SLI will probably outperform the Titan. Though it would be awesome to own a Titan :)
  19. Just wondering if anyone here has got or has ordered a korean 1440p Monitor like the Shimian QH270 Lite. If you do, how is it? Does anyone here have any horror stories? I'm considering getting one as I can not really justify spending the $700 - $800 it costs here in Australia to buy an equivalent monitor from someone like Dell or Asus.
  20. HDMI 2.0 which I'm not if it's coming or is already here will support 4k resolution though I haven't heard anything about refresh rates or anything like that though I assume it will be pretty solid
  21. My speakers are really good, it's just that they are a few years old, I made that point in saying that I wouldn't mind giving them a bit of a boost with a soundcard, but I don't really want to replace them just yet as there is really nothing wrong with them
  22. Hey so I'm currently running a fairly old but still really good set of Creative 5.1 Speakers for when I'm not using my headphones (Corsair Vengeance 1500) which are USB, but I tend to use my speakers more so I have considered getting a sound card. With having had no experience at all in sound cards, I'm wondering whether a $50 - $75 or so sound card will really make the difference over the onboard audio provided by my Gigabyte Z77X-D3H mobo or should I save up some more and spring for a really good one. Either way any reccomendations for good sound cards in either price bracket?
  23. I personally recently bought the Corsair 1500 Headset. I have slightly larger ears and they are SOOO comfy, I used to get ear pains after about 45 mins on my old cheap headset, I am yet to experience pain with my 1500's and I tend to game while talking on skype for hours (longest period I've had since buying my 1500's was around 6 hours or so.) Also, dat price, holy crap they should cost so much more for the build quality. As for the mic, I have been told the quality is very good, the only background noise leakage I've ever really had was when I had my fan turned up pretty high in my room on a hot day but apart from that I haven't had any complaints from my friends and I'm gaming with them on skype nearly every night. All in all well worth getting.
  24. X79 motherboard and 3960X would go great with my personal editing rig :)
