  1. Those sounds popping thru out the whole video were really unnecessary and quite disgusting.
  2. This video was quite disappointing. While it covered the basics, it really gave poor advice regarding better internet security. While the listed apps could be user friendly, we have learned absolutely nothing about security of the apps themselves. When I was trying to sort my passwords, I found out that none of the "big" password managers are open source and there is absolutely no guarantee that there is no backdoor included. By installing these apps, you could actually jeopardize your security even more. Unfortunately, with data mining and still better solutions for big data handling, you can´t count on not being important enough for anyone to care. Today, everybody´s personal info is sought for and everybody´s personal info has a value. If there is some actually safe solution, it would be great and I would like video about that, but trusting your most sensitive information to a closed box you don´t see into is just foolish. As for myself, I found no solution when I was searching for one a few years back, so I was forced to implement my own solution, which I have been using ever since.
  3. That is just so rude. This is the kind of thing, that can make me really mad.
  4. Well, I don´t really want anyone to pick the movies, I can watch. Plus again, I don´t know what movies they will add, so again, I´m paying for something up front w/o being all that sure what it is. It is pretty much like normal TV, where you pay, not knowing what will be scheduled in one week time, only a little better, since you chose when to watch. Plus I´m not using VPN just so I can pay for something, that is silly.
  5. I always download it b4 buying, I would be a fool to pay up front for product of unknown quality. But I want to pay for the ones, that were good. No matter, if it´s movies, series, games or books.
  6. Downloading anything in here isn´t violating the law, as far as copyright goes. But I just want to pay for something I have enjoyed. But it is just plain dumb, getting movies, books, games from "other sources" is so easy, just one click away, but when I want to pay, I have to spend hours searching, like an idiot. Hope this MS thingy will help, so far so good .
  7. Ah, these advertising comments, don´t even read them, just a bunch of malware and scams.
  8. Asked me for USD $3.5, maybe there are different offers in your region or it is free when accessed thru different google service? I went thru Play.
  9. Another update, was not happy with lack of content on google play. So I kept searching and stumbled upon MS movies store. I actually had to get some fake info and say to be in US, but they didn´t check it all that much and I´ve got it working on a second try. They´ce accepted my credit card w/o any problems. Still quite outraged to be forced to search for months, just so I can pay for content and then even having to lie to get around more obstacles, but the store itself seems quite user-friendly, good prices. I like it and have no problem recommending to others, facing the same problems. Oh, forgot to say, they have WAY more movies than google does.
  10. No, it wasn´t and it still is not. Just looking at my subscription box, LTT are pretty much the only channel that does it. And I´m no big uploader. I just upload a few onboards from racetrack or whatever else interesting I capture for family and friends to share, so quality matter, but is not as important. But you are right, that this option is here pretty much since YT introduced 1440p.
  11. Wow, this was really interesting video. Not sure how happy YT will be, if ppl with 1080p cameras start to upload in 4k, it may well be that YT will start checking for up-scaling and come up with restrictions. As for me, I hate YT´s low bitrates, it completely ruins the asphalt when uploading my videos from racetrack, but not sure if I´m willing to go for more than doubled rendering and upload time. Never the less, this was an amazing video .
  12. The iWatch vs. Butler is brilliant idea, do it please!
  13. Taran did amazing job with this review, no cringe-worthy jokes, on point review, ton of factual information. I clicked the video to find out about mBot, knowing nothing about it and got just that, from the basic information about the brand and the product to fairly in-depth stuff, thanks!
  14. After trying out SC2, I found out that wireless mouse isn´t really all that great for playing games, so I bought some cheepo Genius mouse with wire and have both plugged in and swap them. Can´t really bring myself to getting something that is actually intended for playing games.
  15. Must have missed that. I´ve had some bad experience with iTunes back in the day, when it took me few hours and picking thru the registers to get them off my computer, so some antipathy probably still persists, but I will check it again and see if it works for my region and if they have more stuff than Google Play, thanks . EDIT: Well, that didn´t work well at all, their web is a mess, so difficult to navigate thru, when I got to movie rentals, it has just sent me "to movie" anyway and asked for $20. It also kept telling me to dl their app, mistake I´m not going to repeat .
  16. Do I have to watch the movies I have bought on Google play in order for creators to get the money or can I just leave them unwatched? (just in case somebody knows) Btw, they also appeared on my Youtube account, but strangely enough, it is not listed in YT Movies, just interesting observation . Also, everything there was quite fast, pretty much like Amazon, good experience overall. Think to note is, that one is dubbed to my native language (personally hate dubbing). They disclosed it, but gave no option to change it to original. Google play also misses some movies I have bought on Amazon previously, so please, keep the suggestions rolling .
  17. Checked iTunes, found only prices around $20, wanted tons of personal info. Will check the other two. I´m not looking for somewhere to watch the movies, just a way to pay the creator of the movies I have enjoyed.
  18. Will check it out, but I thought it was some monthly fee and you can watch what you like. Also thought it was pretty positive on geo-blocking, I already feel like an idiot paying someone who doesn´t want my money, I wont go thru VPN, just so I can pay. EDIT: "Sorry, Netflix is not available in your country yet." - well that didn´t go well Didn´t know about those, will check them out. I don´t care about quality at all, just looking for a way to pay for it. EDIT: Google play asked for $16 for Inherent Vice, but had other movies for reasonable price. They also wanted tons of personal info, but I inserted fake for all but the credit card number, expiration date and that code at the back and it worked fine, already bought two movies, thanks a lost man! Still looking for somewhere to pay for Inherent Vice. EDIT: YT movies didn´t have it at all.
  19. Hi, I´m looking for a site where I can pay for watching a movie. Up to this point, I was always buying them on Amazon, where they offer SD stream for $4 USD, which is roughly a price I´m looking for. But when I tried to pay for Inherent Vice, it refused to accept my new credit card (old one expired and I just wanted to change the expiration date) and wants me to fill in tons of personal information, some even US only, which is silly, since I don´t even live there. I really feel like the greatest idiot, I only know about this movie thanks to torrent site I visit. My usual practice is to have a look at what new stuff they have (they really have nice rundown of pretty much everything of any quality, something I failed to find elsewhere), download anything even remotely interesting and then watch few of these, mostly giving up after half an hour. Torrenting a movie isn´t even illegal here btw., but I really liked this movie and since I would be willing to pay for seeing it, I wanted to do just that, since that is what I always do when I enjoy a movie. I used amazon for this, since they had all the movies I wanted to pay for and had reasonable prices (I would definitely not pay $20 for seeing a movie, cinema here is about $4.5), but amazon doesn´t want me anymore. I tried to chew thru their "options", but no success there. I have tried to find someplace else, but gave up after an hour of wasted time, official web didn´t help either. Getting this movie w/o paying took me two clicks and less than 5 seconds, finding a way to pay for it already took over an hour of my time and some of yours as well, since you had to read thru this wall of text (unless you skipped ). So, do you know any place where I can buy/stream majority of movies for around $5? Thanks Update: Google Play has a moderate number of movies for a reasonable price. They already had my credit card, had no problem w/ payment. Update: MS has much better solution.
  20. As I have enough space on my desk in office and at home, I prefer larger keyboards, numpad is a must I also like some media buttons to skip song, pause etc and sleep, hibernate ofc, not rly much more I want from my keyboard .
  21. Probably my least favourite WAN show to date. I come here for the news, love how the show keeps me up to date to all the tech news, I don´t have to pick thru the articles, it always picks the important items, and hosts and guests just provide their insight based on their rich experience. In this episode, it was greatly reduced. The new host showed little experience and mostly just silly comments, for my experience, she wasn´t beneficial at all. In here, I see a lot of positive comments, but looking at youtube, like/dislike ratio is the worst I have ever seen on WAN show, so I wonder, if people just don´t feel like sharing their dislike, for fear of being shunned. Well, I might just get the same treatment, but if I don´t at least give a feedback, I´m doing anything to make the show, that I like, better. I´m not hating, I just don´t think the new host is beneficial for the informational value of the show, for example when Edzel came as a replacement host, it was so interesting to see his insight and the show was better for it.
  22. Unfortunately, Vessel is REALY bad. I don´t like Youtube so I was happy to hear about new serious competition, but when I have signed up, most hope was lost. It all started with the sign-up, when they were forcing me to choose some categories, but none of the things they have presented was intriguing. They were either something I don´t care for at all or categories, where I care only for a small subcategory. At this point I just closed it and thought I would be done with it, but they have completed the sign-up anyway and sent me an e-mail, so I decided to give it another go and clicked the link to the main page, and another disappointment has arisen. It was just hours of awkward strange, often disgusting nonsense, no diversity. So I still didn´t give up, maybe these things are just most popular and I have to search for what I prefer. I did just that, first going thru categories that were closest to me, but science was huge letdown, with just some pranks and I don´t even want to talk about it. Cars were little bit less disappointing, but had little content and even less diversity. No motorcycles in sight. My last call to arms was the search button, I have tried about 10 searches, exactly same phrases I search for on youtube, for each one of them, the returned result was "Hmm, we couldn't find anything. Try something else?" If you like the biggest youtube channels and are into the kind of stuff that they do, I think it is called awkward humor, you might like it, the player is quite good, it loads quickly, the buffered videos are left in the temporary memory so you can jump back. Works much better than YT, I would be little bit concerned about some lower setups and weak notebooks, but apart from that, it looks nice, works great, but has absolutely no interesting content for me. I will not come there just for earlier Linus tech tips videos. I just hope another service open to everyone will eventually arise.
  23. Did Linus seriously just compared Samsung galaxy phones to Mercedes cars? I mean, Mercedes is just car that works, it works perfectly, it works for ever, it is practical, ergonomic and of course, comfortable. You can look at their lowest tier A Class and still find these values. Where galaxy is just painful to use, not clean, no longevity, terrible ergonomic. It is just overflow of stuff some of it work, some you don´t even care and some just outright broken. Having send their development process, their terrible communication between HQs in different countries, the chaotic environment (but quite friendly, nice guys :-) ), no wonder. Only think that came close was that Alpha phone, but lacked a lot on the practical side, for me. Also, Mercedes Chief wouldn´t say this if he wasn´t pretty sure.
  24. I play it sometimes, but only campaign (still didn´t beat it  ) and on LAN. http://eurobattle.net community seems to still be alive, you might want to check that out.
