  1. I fixed it! The problem was not the windows update but me I inserted the bluetooth adapter in a USB port that is controlled by the same controller as a USB switch with a bunch of other devices and a hub. The moment I changed port with one controlled by a controller that has less devices, issues disappeared. Gah!
  2. HUGE UPDATE: I just tried using a wired keyboard instead of the wireless controller and the issues are still present So, just the headphones connected to the bluetooth, the audio stream is interrupted since I installed Windows 11 - everything else I wrote still applies.
  3. Hey Sawa! Thank you for your swift reply! I am using the Ryzen High Performance power plan which does not have any setting related to bluetooth. Also, my pc does not have bluetooth by itselft so I tried with 2 usb adapters, a dongle from Asus and an external antena from EDUP. They both behave the same... I tried using a different controller that connects through a dedicated dongle and everything works just fine. I was hoping I could use just one adapter to connect both the headphones and the controller.
  4. Hello everyone! I think it's my first post since forever but I have run out of ideas. Since I installed Windows 11 fresh (previously I had windows 10 updated to 11 and a feature update degraded the usability experience massively), I have issues when using bluetooth headphones + xbox controller in the form of 100ms-1s sound interruptions every 30s-1min. It's not regular, sometimes it might go 5 minutes without interruptions other times it would interrupt so much that the sound is unintelligible and the controller disconnects. Hardware: - Bluetooth adapters: ASUS BT500 dongle, EDUP bluetooth 5.3 usb external antenna - Headphones: Sony WH 1000 XM4, BOSE qc 35 II - Controllers: Xbox Series S controller, PlayStation 4 DS4 controller - OS: Windows 11 Pro 22H2 (fresh install) I tried different bluetooth adapters, different headphones, different controllers - nothing changed, same behavior. I tested with an old bluetooth external speaker (perhaps older version of Bluetooth?) and I couldn't replicate the problem. I don't remember having this issue while I had the previous OS (Windows 10 upgraded to 11). Other than dual booting into Ubuntu and going back to Windows 10, I don't know what else to try... I wouldn't want to waste this amazing community's time with trivial issues, so of course I searched the web wide and far but nothing helped Can someone please help me? Thank you very much in advance!
  5. I agree, but the format demands it. Yeah, that could work ! Hey, I respect your opinion but I believe that your understanding of my thoughts might be a bit off. I am interested in the things they talk about and the videos they make. I have been watching LMG videos for a long time now, and I can't just stop watching them, because of this small inconvenience. As I said, it is not something that I find to be a reason that would make me want to drop this habit. Through their videos I am getting in touch with the latest things in hardware and the IT news in general. The purpose for this post is to express my opinion and maybe encourage other people, that feel the same, to express theirs. I respect that you appreciate their more professional approach, instead of the whole garage thing (even so, don't you think that, maybe, advertising for butt wipes is a bit low ?). Yep !
  6. Yeah but if you watch the video (before he "test drives" the costume) you will notice that he is somewhere else and not with us. He is either not paying attention, or is not excited enough (which would make no sense) or something is going on. I had high hopes for the presentation and I felt a bit dissapointed. I felt no energy being transmited through the screen (like in the olden days; pepperidge farm remembers ) dat reply! I totally agree! Your idea is really good. He could talk about the really interesting parts and offer a link towards precise in-depth technical information. I thing I mind the most, is seeing his eyes read the info Sorry for paying attention to such puny details, but I cannot help it. Even his voice tone is dull (compared to the way he sounds during WAN Shows). There is a video with 2 pilot videos regarding some new topics and, even though I like both of them, I prefer the toy related one. The main reason being that Linus seems full of energy and willing to show how awesome that salt shotgun is. He is like your buddy who is excited to show you something, in comparison with Slick's more serious and rigid approach. He sounded like a teacher at a course, and I quickly got bored, even though the info was very interesting.
  7. @Vitalius - I totally agree with what you said @Foxxer - Indeed, it's very hard to remember everything you said, but IMO his videos are not about that. Now it feels like a lecture held by a professor too much in a hurry to just personally explain to you the things he teaches.
  8. @tezza192 - Yeah... To be honest, besides the WAN show, I find the videos, that he does for NCIX, easier to watch and not be distracted by the comercial part. Oh well, there is still the WAN show And thank goodness that he is still impartial and objective about the things he presents. @helping - I agree with what you say, but IMO his channel was unique and different from the other channels because he was trying to help everyday people like me and was not struggling to make something professional and enterprisey. He had no fancy intro with loud music, no fancy name, no fancy language just for the sake of it. He was all like : "look, I know how to do this ! let me show you how I got to understand it and what I learned from it".
  9. @WiiManic - I agree with you, it is hard to remember every single thing and I am okay with having notes on a laptop. But, in some videos, he is reading every single word he says He looks like he is not paying attention to the viewer but to something else (the script ?). IMO it would be better, and perhaps faster, to just start filming with some basic notes, like in the old times Now it's like making a presentation, with a Powerpoint slideshow, but instead of talking about the subject, you read everything from the text cluttered slides. I will add a profile pic in a sec
  10. Hello Linus ! I thoroughly enjoy your youtube channel, the WAN shows, techquickie, etc. even though you kind of dropped the unboxing part of them. I really enjoyed taking us on a journey by unboxing a product and getting you first hands-on impression/oppinion. However, I noticed that you are using some kind of a teleprompter (monitor maybe) in order to say what you have to say, and, for me, this is killing the fun . It is a pain to watch your eyes move as you read, what you need to say, and it gets even worse when you "make a joke" that was obviously on the script. You are not a puppet or a text-to-speech device. You are an intelligent person with tons of experience and, in my oppinion, the whole ideea that made you better was the "garage" feel of your videos. I don't mind having the unboxing interrupted by one of your cats or a loud truck passing by. I don't really appreciate sterile and rigid information, as I enjoy your natural knowledge and battle tested advice. I like the camera work but I would prefer you were actually talking about a product, even though you may be wrong. It makes you feel more human. The WAN show is great because of this very reason. I learned a lot of stuff from you, and it was easy to do so because I really felt that you were teaching me something from your knowledge. Now you seem to do, what you do, just to get it over with. Anyway, this is my oppinion and I hope it is not insulting. Please excuse my English (I am not a native speaker), I may have made some mistakes. PS: Remember when you were doing unboxings outside, and every now and then you would crack a joke about someone around you or the weather or something ? Thank you ! Vlad
  11. @Captain3xtreme : my headphones are plugged in the front panel and the panel is connected on the board + my onboard soundcard is disabled from Bios. Good news ! I noticed that since I installed the Asus Xonar Uni drivers (as suggested by Captain3xtreme) my 5.1 system (Genius SW-HF 5.1 4500) is definitely louder (on a scale from 0 to 30, the comfortable level is at around 15 (with the Windows volume at max), level 20 being too much in order to enjoy the music). The headphones (plugged in the front panel) are still not loud enough - I will try connecting them in the back.
  12. @Captain3xtreme : Yes and it is set on the highest (loudest) value possible (I have "VOIP mode or for <32ohms headsets", "Pro-gaming mode or for 32~64ohms headsets" and "Exciter mode or for >64Ohms headsets" and it is set on the last one, the "Exciter" (lol) ).
  13. Right now I am using Philips SHP2500. At work I have a pair of Pioneer SE-M290. I know that they are cheap headphones but I am ok with the quality (especially the Pioneer ones). My problem is the volume. I just finished installing the uni xonar drivers and nothing changed. Also, I disabled the onboard sound card and uninstalled all the related drivers and applications.
  14. Hello ! I recently bought an Asus Xonar DGX, because I wanted to see how dedicated sound stacks up to embedded sound (Linus is zealoting (if that is a term ) over dedicated sound). Also I wanted to do this because my onboard sound card did not have a high enough volume (I am not deaf nor have hearing problems; the bloody thing is not loud enough). Anyway, I bought it, installed it and noticed that the sound quality is similar-ish (I felt no difference, maybe no more sound breaking in Euro Truck Simulator) and with the volume at max (on the board and headphones) the sound level is normal (I bet I can cover the sound from my headphones by eating an apple or popcorn). If I tinker in the Asus Xonar application, I manage to raise the volume to slightly above normal I tried with different headphones (the ones I use at work) and the volume issue is identical. I tested the same headphones on my work laptop, and at 50% volume, my ears hurt (so the problem is not me). Is this normal ? On a slightly different note, is there another application that allows me to configure my Xonar board ? I am asking because the application that the board comes with does not have some useful settings that even the default Realtek HD Audio app had (for example, the option to specify the distance to each speaker that is part of my 5.1 system). The Xonar application has a bunch of virtual environment settings (like, simulate a bathroom/opera house/cellar/etc), karaoke stuff (why would I need this ?), vocal FX, and others that are plain useless to me. Considering the experience I had since I bought the card, I feel that I kind of wasted my money (it's not expensive but still ... I could've bought some games on Steam or a truckload of HumbleBundles or Magic the Gathering boosters, or DLCs, or ... - you get the idea). Thank you, in advance, for your answers ! Vlad
