  1. For the sake of clarity, and anyone googling about this issue after the fact, I have solved this issue. Since linux was being able to see the GPU and have it operating normally, I felt as this was a software issue, and it seems to have been, I tried my hand again at editing the drivers myself, and it has worked. I used this tutorial to edit in my hardware ID and install the modified drivers, make sure to install it under safe mode with the driver signature check disabled, I believe that is where I messed up the first time. GPU is working fine under windows, and the only big issue is that I have to edit my own drivers and go into safe mode to install, but it feels like a small price to pay to have a working, and still good GPU for a laptop.
  2. I have tried that, I went back to Windows 10 2004. 1909, and 1809 and tried installing the drivers EVGA has listed for this laptop and still could not install it. keeps saying it doesn't find any compatible hardware.
  3. I have an EVGA SC17 laptop with a GTX 1070 running windows. BIOS 1.08 Everything was working until Windows 10 2004 update, rolling back would get windows to see GPU, but I pushed on to update because I wanted to be in the latest update. (HUGE MISTAKE). Windows is only seeing the GPU as a Microsoft Basic Display Driver. Thinking it was my OS I wiped the whole drive and installed windows again, first a fresh Windows 2004, GPU not found. Then all fresh copies of Windows 1909, 1809, and also tried updating to the latest preview windows, still nothing. Tried my luck and installed ubuntu, it sees my GPU, installs nvidia's proprietary drivers, and I'm able to install steam and play Bastion just fine. SO everything seems like GPU is still good. Looked around and saw editing nvidia's .inf files were a thing and tried that, driver always fails to install, there are many similar hardware ID's in nvidia's .inf's but not one that matches my hardware ID. The hardware ID windows is seeing is: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1BE1&SUBSYS_20053842&REV_A1 Uploaded is the closest matches to my hardware ID I found in one of the .inf files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Thank you for making awesome videos! Without you I would've made some bad decisions on buying my hardware, that your channel keeps growing. PS MAKE MORE SUPER FUN VIDEOS
  6. Well this thread is probably dead, but anyways here are my results at work which has a 25/25 FIOS business line and I'm on wireless. Without any VPN I get the expected results And here it is using a VPN, in this case privateinternetaccess. Honestly this is fucking amazing, while upload speeds don't change that much, the download speed is 5x greater, and this isn't what speedtest.net is showing, this is actual data being sent into my computer! Anyone else have similar experiences with this?
  7. Just because of the actual waterproof feature. Also that skin looks bad ass
  8. I like the brushed aluminum black, and a capable GPU to do some light gaming.
  9. While I love the 1440p screen it is not my favorite picture, the battery life and knock to unlock are my favorite features. I have a n5 and thats the only things that I hate about it, and the G3 has what my n5 doesn't. (also the snapdragon 801 is a plus )
