  1. I think I may have fixed it!! The VBOIS actually updated something when i tried again.. I can now control my fans again. I followed this thread if there is someone else stumbling over the same problem: https://rog.asus.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-88228.html
  2. I started up Jedi Fallen order and all was well, but then suddenly one of the fans on my Asus GTX 1070 started revving up to full speed. I went into MSI Afterburner but I found out I no longer had control over the fan speeds. Also in HWmonitor it said that the fan was at 200-500rpm when it actually were at 1500rpm. I began with doing a clean sweep with DDU and fresh drivers, but as soon as i log in and the driver kicks in the fan revs up again. I then were clumsy enough to touch the fan so the blades broke, and i had to place an order for a replacement fan, then i disconnected the broken fan. It's this fan I'm referring to btw: https://imgur.com/a/BJFkug3 Now it runs on 2 fans, and i still have no control. And it's also this weird buzzing noise sometimes.. Games run just as it did before with no issues, thermals also seem to hold up fine with 2 fans.. I tried running a VBIOS update but it says that there is no need. So now I'm sitting here with 2 fans that live their own life and a weird buzzing noise. A small detail to mention is that i got a new monitor yesterday with 144Hz 1440p HDR, if that matters at all. Help anyone? I'm planning on upgrading to a 3080 but that's not in stock for a long time it seems.
  3. I do sometimes develop some apps on Android.. How will it perform with emulators and such?
  4. I don't really use heavy programs, I have my desktop for that.. On my laptop i typically use VSCode and IntelliJ for development..
  5. I'm looking into the new XPS 15 9500, but here in Norway I can't get it with the i7-10875H, only the i7-10750H.. My question is if i really will notice a difference? I'm a web developer so I won't do much rendering and stuff..
  6. While playing a game my PC suddenly shut itself off. And then proceeded to turn itself on and off again. It doesn't reach post and the error code on the motherboard reaches 14. I have had the system for about a year now with these specs: Maximus X Hero i7 8700k GTX 1070 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 AX860i (5 years old) I have tried self test on the AX860i with the light turning green, though it shows no light sometimes too for some reason. I have taken out the GPU and disconnected all storage drives. Also tried switching around the RAM.
  7. I am harvesting old HDDs that could work for me, as I can't afford an SSD yet for my system (I had to sell my previous system that is described in my profile).. So I am currently running my OS on a 2.5" 5400rpm drive, and yes, it is slow. And I think, or know, that every modern system should have it's OS on an SSD!
  8. Would love that Kova! It's my birthday January 26th, so it would be an awesome birthday gift!
  9. I have always used compressed air on my components, and a vacum on the fan filters
  10. To be, or not to be. What was the question?

  11. I would give my mom an SSD for her laptop that DESPERATELY needs an upgrade, her HDD is so freaking slow.
  12. I love how it took you 3 afterparty's to get through the UtraWideFestival videos due to audio problems #LinusAudioTips
