  1. I'm running a msi twin frozr 960. It sucks, and nvidia is a terrible company who keeps on shafting us, that's why I want to win!
  2. That's way too big, I'm gonna be carrying this with me all day for the next 4 years of my life lol.
  3. I have an hp laptop at the moment, and I thoroughly hate it. I've seen some really good reviews on this one, though. It's made by Voodoo, which HP owns kinda like how Dell owns Alienware.
  4. My budget: around $1600 USD I'd like a thin and somewhat light laptop. I've been looking for a few days and I've come down to these choices: Newest GS60 with a 965m, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152816 or The HP Omen with a 960m, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834261109 does anyone have any experience with either of these laptops? I need to get one in a couple of days for when I go off to school. I do a decent amount of gaming, mostly cs:go and a little gta v. I really like the look of the Omen but the GS60 has slightly better specs. Thanks for any help, and if you have any other recommendations I will great appreciate them.
  5. I can't fit one in my case, that is why I am concerned about the h80i...
  6. I've got had a hyper 212 Evo for a while and I'm not entirely happy with the temps I get (80c+). Is it worth to upgrade to the h80i gt? I would get bigger rad if I could but my case only has room for a 120mm and I'm not really looking to buy a new case. Do you think I'd get a considerable drop in temps? I know I can push my cpu farther and I'd like to.
  7. modmic 4.0 is awesome, I use one. It's pretty much the cheapest decent mic you can get. You could go with a desktop mic, but it'd cost a little more.
  8. That's what I was thinking, I just had to make sure. I'm kind of a cheapskate lol.
  9. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/31526-overclocking-your-monitor-refresh-rate-amd-gpus/
  10. Can anyone recommend a decent 1080p monitor that can overclock pretty decently at a decent price($100-200)? Also I am curious, could you overclock a vg24qe past it's 144 hz refresh rate?
  11. Have you ever seen a chicken with clothes?
  12. I'm looking to these headphones for gaming, movie watching, music, and normal computing. I have a crappy pair of turtle beaches I bought for $40 and the buzzing is driving me insane. I've seen some awesome reviews on these headphones and I'm wondering if I'll need a dedicated sound card or DAC. I have no idea how any of this works, so any recommendations and explanations would be greatly appreciated. I'm using onboard audio and I'd like to try to stay under $150 for the sound card, if I need one.
  13. the 390 launched in 2013.... think about that one hehe
  14. Would someone kindly rate my build?(specs in signature)
  15. I think I'm leaning towards that
  16. I was thinking this too, I've gone through 3 hdds in the last two years and I'm tired of having to reinstall everything, and from what I've heard ssds are much more reliable.
  17. I'm buying an 500ish gb ssd today and I'd like some guidance on which one to get. I'm looking at the Intel 730, Samsung 850 evo or pro. I'd like a reliable one as I plan to raid 0 after I buy a second one down the road, is the $50 premium on the 730 and 850 pro worth it over the 850 evo for reliability? Thanks
  18. I was thinking about this the other day when I was looking at the evga 980 hybrid. It's a 980 with an aio mounted to it for $650. Why would anyone buy that over a 295x2 for a little less money. If you're investing in a $600 card I would imagine you would have some knowledge of how to configure your psu and have enough money to buy a 1000 watt psu.
  19. you'd be fine with a cx430, you don't need this much power but I'm pretty sure you can't get a smaller one.
  20. Thank you for pointing me towards this. It's a good $600 less than the origin1
  21. I didn't realize it was an mq chip, that may change my mind. The main thing I'd want to upgrade is the gpu. I've got Asus g55 with a 660m in it and it can hardly run modern games at medium in 1080p, I'd like to avoid buying a $1500 notebook that can't play games after 3 generations again.
  22. So far the only bad thing I've heard about the Asus is that sata 2 channel which everyone who reviewed it on Newegg seems to bring up, but I'll keep an open mind. The Gs30 wouldn't be a great fit for me because I need the gpu power at work and home. My hardest choice right now is deciding if I want to spend a lot of cash up front or slowly upgrade. Like if I bough the Origin I could throw in a broadwell cpu, or the Alienware I could buy the external graphics thing.
  23. I like the size, but that's not one of my worries. It also can't be upgraded very much outside of storage.
