Curiously Flamboyant Sheep's Achievements

  1. Well that's it! Don't I feel dumb, haha. All the other modifiable fields had brackets - [ ] - around them to change values. The multiplier didn't. Well I feel dumb. Don't mind me...
  2. Hey LTT, In the overclocking pane of my motherboard's BIOS, the CPU multiplier cannot be changed. I just want to put my 4690K to 4.0GHz (something very modest even at stock voltage). I don't know if I have to enable any settings to actually overclock my CPU as I'm pretty new to overclocking (first overclockable chip apart from my 8320). OC Genie will do it even though I'm locked out of it manually, but I don't trust it at all. Anyone have some advice?
  3. I wouldn't mind a 5820k. Would make opening all my Word documents all at the same time ever so slightly faster!
  4. It's getting expensive to buy another reference 980, with EVGA being one that I can find (but $60 more than my ASUS 980) or a PNY ($40 more than my ASUS 980) being the few I can obtain. The non-reference 980s, like EVGA's ACX 2.0 980, are around $540-560. I have a NZXT H630 which has pretty poor airflow so I was prioritizing blower reference cards to avoid the hot-box state that the case tends to develop with open-air coolers. Should I just save up a little more money and get a reference to go with my other reference 980 or would it be okay to get a non-reference card? I would think the heat that the open-air cooler blows around would raise the temperatures of my reference 980 detrimentally.
  5. The new XB1 bundle has a 1TB hard drive and I believe an upcoming PS4 refresh will give a 1TB hard drive as well.
  6. Hmm, those look good. I might get them. Good looking quality there...
  7. Hmm. Amazon says there's a newer model and I can get it without microphone for $100. Tempting!
  8. I got the GTX 980 from ASUS. Just go for that. Unless you really, really want that factory overclock.
  9. Title. I have Plantronics GoBeat 2 wireless IEMs and I'm fed up with only having 4 hours of battery life. They don't last me through a customer-service-light work day. To that end, I'm looking for some new headphones. Have any suggestions? In-line controls aren't necessary since I have a Pebble Steel. $100 is my sweet spot, with cheaper being preferable. I can go a little bit over as well.
  10. How would the 980 fare with 3440x1440? I'm returning my R9 290X to Amazon. The idle temperatures were around 53-55 Celsius when the ambient was around 22 Celsius. Was often hitting 80 Celsius at times. Amazon is letting me return it instead of RMA'ing it to Sapphire. With the money from the refund I'm looking at the 980 for my LG34UM95. How would a reference 980 perform with UWD? Will it perform similarly to my R9 290X? Better, maybe? Haha.
  11. That sounds fine if the air is going out of your case. Your fans and radiator are in the "pull" position. If your fans in the front aren't on, that means that there's little air being brought into the case. I suggest buying some Y-splitters so you can hook up more fans. How many fans do you have hooked up to your motherboard? Are your H110 fans hooked onto the CPU headers?
  12. Will my AXi 860 support Sapphire R9 290X Vapor-X in Crossfire? Would it support a R9 295X2? I'm looking to expand my graphical horsepower beyond my singular R9 290X Vapor-X. At 3440x1440, the performance is okay but not amazing.
