  1. I am thinking of upgrading not just for performance, but also for reliability. I don't know how long my old system will work (without a randomly blown capacitor in the MB)... Locally the used market is kina bad unforchantly
  2. Thank you, OK, I'll try. Although it means taking much more storage...
  3. I want this NAS to just work, all the time (as it has for the last many years, with freenas before). So, I going the safest as I can, with team green, and mainstream parts. But, thank you for the input.
  4. Thank you, I'll see if I can get a deal on the 4060.
  5. Wow, that's super important, I'll make sure to double-check that it has quick sync. Do you have any recommendations for a GPU, if I'm not buying a new CPU, RAM, and motherboard, I have a large budget for it (I have active Plex Pass) I need to transcode 4K sometimes when I'm outside, and I want to watch 4K content, but the connection is not strong enough. Can I just have another copy of a file and Plex will use a lower-quality one if I select for it?
  6. My CPU usage when Plex is in use is 100%, do you think that with a modern GPU and a 10+ year old CPU, it would be ok? My RAM is also just 16GB DDR3, idk if its a bottleneck.
  7. Hey everyone, I have a NAS running Unraid, mostly used for Plex and data archives for me only. My current specs are: Intel® Core™ i5-2500 Memory: 16 GiB DDR3 Intel DH67BL No external GPU WD RED 4TB *3 WD RED 3TB *2 This is not good enough for 4K, so I must upgrade. I will re-use my PSU and case, I don't need new HDDs. My budget is limited, This is what I have in mind: Intel Core i5 14600KF Noctua NH-L9I-17XX LGA1700 MSI PRO B760M-P LGA1700 DDR5 Kingston FURY BEAST RGB 32GB DDR5 4800MHz CL38 I have a PCIe SATA Card at home, not in use, I was thinking of using it to plug in one of the HDDs. (Rivo PCIe SATA Card 6 Port, with 6 SATA Cables and Low Profile Bracket, 6Gbps SATA 3.0 PCIe Card,Support 6 SATA 3.0 Devices, Built-in Adapter Converter for Desktop PC. From Amazon). Let me know what you think Thanks!
  8. I am just staring to use nextcloud, looks really nice. Tnx
  9. Hey everyone, I have an Unaid NAS, working perfectly so far. I'm looking for alternative to google photos. Does anyone know of a nice Plugin/App to sort photos? I don't mind uploading the photos form my phone manually, but what I really miss from google is the nice browsing: Albums, dates etc... I know that there is no way to have face recognition Thanks, Nir

    Mesh WiFi

Thanks for the response, Here is why: 1. Its really annoying having to switch wifi networks when you move in the house, this is the situation right now. 2. From what I know, you can wire the mesh and having it use the ethernet as a backhaul. The reason I'm thinking about wifi 6 (Asus) is that its very close in price to the non wifi 6 Veloop.

    Mesh WiFi

Anyone has any experience with one of the products?

    Mesh WiFi

Thanks for the response. You're right more details are needed so I edited the original post. Of course, by "best" I meant, best for my uses. I have cat5e in every room of my house (pro tiip don't run wires in August ) so wifi is really only for cellphones and smart devices.

    Mesh WiFi

Hey everyone! I want to buy Mesh WiFi for my home, I need 3 units (hub +2). Where I'm from Amazon's mesh is not an option. I think I found 2 good options: 1. Asus ZenWiFi AX Mini 802.11ax Mini (XD4) Mesh Wireless 2. Linksys Velop Wireless Whole Home WiFi AC6600 Tri-band Mesh The 2 are in similar price (at least here), but the Asus one has wifi 6 so maybe its a better option? If you have a better option in mind please comment. Thanks a lot Edit, More details : All of my hight bandwidth devices are connected via a wire. But I have a lot of IOT like light bulbs, ac etc. So good coverage is a must. My internet speed at horne is 200/10.
