  1. Gotta love totally unbalanced difficulty scaling.

    AC Unity:

Sequence 10 and 11: Easy as pie.

Sequence 12: Haha, f*ck you loser.

Took 5 or 6 attempts to complete.

Of course I didn't realize Sequence 12 would be the final boss fight before starting it so that is kinda my bad.

Also, 185W GPU Power is not bad. Ik this excludes VRAM power but still not bad at all for running between 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz.

In case you're wondering regarding framerate, I'm running it at 1440p max settings with V-Sync turned off and I think also motion blur turned off.

  2. Not gonna lie, I wouldn't call having 15 left of an item in stock as LOW STOCK 😛.

Especially not when it's a case fan.

That is really low once you know how stock capacity is calculated in retail.

  3. It's a big shame .NET MAUI Blazor still doesn't support Linux. Having tried it: it's awesome but it not supporting Linux is a major letdown and rn I'm having to decide whether or not that makes it a dealbreaker.

  4. Hot Take: Battlefield 2042 is actually a good game at this point minus a few problems:

    • EA's lack of transparency about updates after Season 4
    • Price of £49.99 - To get more players this price has got to be cut in half. I'm not just saying that cos I wouldn't buy it at full price.
    • No permanent 64 player modes (they had some as a limited time event)

I'm shocked BF1 is doing better than BF2042 at this point considering the rampant cheating in BF1 and the much worse gun handling and feel in BF1 compared to normal BF games.

MW II is quite CPU/RAM intensive at least on my…

Not horrific perf but at that render resolution I have to wonder why it's not better. Have you got any non DLSS numbers?
  6. The cache is also smaller since the XT loses 1 Memory Cache Chiplet (which accounts for the lost vram bus as well since each chiplet gives a 64bit memory bus and 16MB Cache). It's also possible that they expected the 7900XT to compete with the 4080 12GB but Nvidia withdrew that card from sale after they designed it.
  7. They could be sandbagging and don't want Nvidia to realize how good their cards are. Or they could simply decide it's not worth making benchmarks comparing them since nobody trusts their cherry picked benchmark numbers. Or a hundred other legitimate reasons for not advertising their cards' performance. And until we see actual benchmarks there's no way to tell for sure. Cyberpunk isn't where an AMD card will be performing at it's best. I still maintain cyberpunk is a badly performing game and an outlier amongst benchmarked games.
  8. And we haven't seen any comparisons besides AMD's to themselves so any predictions now are premature; there's honestly no way to tell how they'll perform until we see objective benchmarks once reviewers have the cards and the embargo lifts.
  9. We don't have benchmarks and theoretical TFLOP numbers aren't good indicators of real world perf.
  10. I would also add: look at the specs. Typical cards of the same class have similar ish specs in memory bus and similar levels of perf and vram relative to cards above or below it. The 6000 series was an outlier cos AMD wanted to use Infinity cache to remove the requirement of having a bigger memory bus and the power draw it comes with.
  11. I think there'll still be a 7800XT model but I'm not sure we'll ever know if the real 7800XT was repurposed as the 7900XT or kept as the 7800XT.
  12. At least for now it's not gonna happen. Multiple GPU chiplets where the chiplets have graphics cores still doesn't work well for gaming. It is possible we may never see them released. I wonder if the mistake might be with AMD's technical writers given that AMD has had 64 SPs per CU for the past 10 years. Suddenly changing to 128 per CU, if that's what AMD did, may have thrown their technical writers. I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
  13. For some cards I imagine their will be like 7800 vs 7800XT that has been rumoured.
  14. AMD's website says the 7900XTX only has 6144 SPs tho. I'm super confused.
  15. AdoredTV's video about RDNA3 seems to have somewhat correct. Minus the part about having over 10,000 SPs.

And ofc AMD came out swinging with 2 good looking cards.

I hope the relatively low CU count (96 and 84 respectively) doesn't mean that they're not going to perform 2x faster than Navi 2X.

They're not going to perform 2x faster than Navi 2X, because AMD already said it's 1.5-1.7x in their marketing.

In my experience people usually pay interest for financing though. Also, I find it encourages buying a new product when buying used would have provided as good of an experience for a lot less money. Unless you're using it to make money or you need it for your job and your job won't pay for it.

  18. Esso, I love you but you gotta stop with selling a 12 pack of Masks for £9.99 . It's highway robbery, you know it and I know it.

Fortunately I don't normally need to pay the extortionate prices but today I needed to cos I was running low of masks.

  19. So you're fine with going back to the old way of buying major upgrades separately? E.g. If you buy Office 2016 and if you want Office 2019 then you need to buy Office 2019 despite "owning" Office 2016. Some developers (I am not in favour of this BTW but I am aware of this practice) currently sell programs to customers at different pricing depending on if they want to buy a license that works on multiple platforms or just one. E.g. You can right now buy a Geekbench license for Windows only (or Mac only, or Linux only) for $9.99 or for Windows, Mac, and Linux for $14.99. Wouldn't this increase pricing for those programs by forcing devs to offer the more expensive package without offering the cheaper package for fewer OSes? And if it did effectively increase pricing for these programs, would you be willing to accept the price increase in exchange for forcing the dev to sell a license that works across platforms?
  20. Reload times on the Famas in BF4 is death..... literally.

    Spoiler

Cos by the time you finish reloading after emptying your mag you probably got snuck up on and gunned down with our dear friend the AEK-971.

Which is why I've made the acquaintance of the ACW-R with a silencer 😛.

For people who would otherwise pay for both Spotify and YouTube Premium I guess it's a good deal. I was never interested in subscribing to YouTube Premium even without using YouTube Music. I'd rather not give my money or more of my data to Google if I can avoid it. I imagine it does if one doesn't care about their privacy.
  22. Ah yes, that feeling when you accidentally turn on High Performance Mode...... on your earbuds. 😛

Also, can we talk about how bad Spotify's shuffle algorithm is. It is not random at all, if  you use shuffle enough times you get the exact same songs in the exact same order.

I started using YouTube Music recently so that I don't have to pay twice. Works great.

As tempting as that is, (And whilst I'm having these issues with Zorin OS it is much more tempting than it should be) I don't want to run a proprietary OS. If I didn't game I'd have switched all my computers to Linux a long time ago. As it stands I only relegate Windows to my gaming PC.
  24. I just made the mistake of rebooting Zorin OS and now I'm struggling to get the Envy to boot back into Zorin OS.

If I ever get this situation sorted out I'm running back to Pop!_OS cos this is a joke.
