I'm raising awareness of the new rule changes that the mod team decided to inflict us with so here:

 

TL:DR No more politics in any fashion in Status Updates.

I've already made an initial reply to the status update thread however I will be making a longer more detailed reply later.

 

I'm very dissapointed in this decision. It's sad that the proverbial 1% need to ruin it for the proverbial 99% who were fine with it.

    It was never allowed.

    Now it's explicitly not allowed.

     

    There's no censorship here ?

    @givingtnt It was previously okay to post it in Status Updates and now it's not. That's the change.

    Not really, there's always been some issues, maybe people didn't see yours as much so it didn't get noticed.

     

    There were some loosely followed lines but it was never implemented well enough to enforce properly, now it is.

    No, the mods chose to not strongly enforce it until now and now they're choosing to because apparently people complained.

    I still don't think it's an issue, this is a tech forum not /pol.

     

    If you think it's unwise of the mods/owners to not want political talk on a platform where many people who (if let's target market is anything to go by) are young with impressionable minds hang around, that's your right.

    Instead of politics we all should just talk about thicc thighs. The world would be a much more peaceful place.

    @givingtnt I'm not arguing for it to come back to topics. I'm only concerned with it being taken away from Status Updates.

     

    The argument for letting it on Status Updates is that you choose to seek out that content and you can stop following at any time and therefore if people don't want to follow somebody who talks politics then that's your decision.

     

    But apparently the mod team received too many complaints about it ocurring on Status Updates.
