Maybe they're just not gonna let a lot of people stay inside the court room, so if there is an "audience", then they'll be limited seats so they can keep their distance.

I don't imagine people would be allowed to stay inside who aren't the parties involved, their attorneys, bailiffs, and judge(s).

There are instances where people can just sit and watch, but I guess that's limited to primary courts and a select kind of cases, at least that's the case here afaik.
