IDK if it would be bad idea to SLI  GTX 770s..........

 

Since a 770 2GB is like $100-130 on most e-tailers.

This could be a stop gap until I have wayyyyy more money.

    I would be quite a noticeable boost, but I don't think it would get you into the range of a single modern high end card like a 1070 for example.

    @Ryan_Vickers It appears that in many games I'd get a 50-70% performance improvement (if the game even supports SLI *UBISOFT*!)

    I used to have 2 770s in SLI (the MSI 4GB OC version) and if the game or benchmark supported SLI they were somewhere between the 980 and the 980Ti in terms of performance.  Often trading blows with the latter. 

    Of course as soon as you had no SLI support ...

    well, he has the 2gb version, so im guessing 960 at worst for him

    Yeah, after some digging into this it looks like you're right.  Probably isn't worth it on the 2GB version.
