  1. Ok, that hardware is impressive. But what about the software? Are you still using FreeNAS?
  2. I love this kind of videos... There's one thing I didn't get tho: why did he made two SSIDs? is it one on 2.4 and the other on 5GHz? <_<
  3. My favorite thing about the G3 is the removable 3000mAh battery
  4. More network stuff videos will be definitely appreciated ! Also it would be great to see some "internet of things" products like Tado, Nest and so on...
  5. What about this for comparison? powertrekk.com

  8. I also prefer Intel in most cases, but in i3 would cost me way too much... Anyway, is the A6 well supported by Ubuntu server and Virtualbox? Does the integrated gpu helps if i need to encode a media stream on the fly?
  9. Can anyone suggest a better config? :(
  10. This happens to all low end phones which have low memory for apps. The reason why you lost suddenly almost 280MB of memory i due to cache and other app data (remember that you cant lower than 20MB of free space). Solutions: Buy a better phone that will provide you a better overall user experience Use Link2SD following some guide online
  11. Hi everyone, I'm planning building myself a home server using this as a guideline. It will be running: The OS (ubuntu 12.04 64bit) with firewall, a lamp server for admin (webadmin, phpvirtualbox...), virtualbox and few other essential things (only LAN acces) The Web VM with lamp, ftp, owncloud and other web services (a do not have many visitors, i think <50) The Media VM (not accessible from the outside) with media server, torrent client, maybe a print server... The Backup VM to handle securely my backups So, my question is about the hw... not too expensive, not too creepy and not too power greedy This is what I putted together until now but maybe there are better solutions... I hope in some advice :) (prices in €, components will be bought in Italy) AMD FM1 40AMD A6 508GB 403x WD Caviar RED 2TB 225SSD 60 GB 50PSU 400w 80 Plus Gold 40Fractal Design ARC MINI 60 I haven't choosed the specific components models yet, but the prices are referred to high quality brands (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Corsair... the ones which Linus suggests :P) Thank you in advance!

  13. Although linus and many experienced gamers can easily tell the difference between 60Hz and 120 Hz' date=' [b']the fact that we don't need a video for "can linus detect the difference between 1440p and 1080p?" is very telling. The difference is obvious, and in an awesome way. And to Rhizo wondering if the difference between a 32" 1366x768 screen and a 1440p 27" monitors. Short answer: yes, your eyes will stop bleeding from that crap 32" screen. The 2560x1440p resolution is often consider QuadHD, or QHD, because its 4 x 1280 x 720p, thats nearly 4x as many pixels as your current display. Well i know that better resolution is always better... But how does a PLS panel perform in FPS games?
  14. But the Asus PB278Q response time is not so good... I'm a FPS gamer...
  15. Here are some references from the only one :)
  16. Well I just realized that no one of the PC stores near here have a 120Hz nor a 1440p monitor... So I can't try anything by myself :(
  17. Well I play almost only FPS games and my intention is to play in 2D most of the time anyway... So I don't know if would be better having a good gaming 1440p @60Hz or a 120Hz 1080p... But I'm concerned by the low res in this case (I'm considering the two Asus models)
  18. I know it's mostly subjective... That's why I'm interested in your personal opinions ;)
