Is there such a thing as wireless keyboard for only media keys, so only Play/Pause, Next/Back, Volume etc.? I've seen the all-in-one keyboards with the track pad and keyboard but not what I'm looking for. Thanks ?

Not sure if it will help your situation but I found a fix. Open Settings on your PC (Win+I) Search for “Turn Windows feature on or off” Find “SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support” in the tree Make sure everything underneath the parent node is selected – for me Server wasn’t Reboot After reboot I was able to access and open/play all my files through ES Explorer and VLC again The newest update for Windows 10, Version 1709, disabled SMBv1 for security reasons, so turning it back on may not be the best idea but atleast now you have the option.

when you say share, do you mean that I would need to download the files from the FTP server to my phone/tablet to watch them or are you able to stream it?

I have been using ES File Explorer and VLC on my phone/tablet to access my PC files just fine but then the latest Windows 10 update killed my PC so I had to do a fresh install, now I can't get them to work again. It's been so long since I set my PC up for sharing but I'm sure I have done everything corretly, Network discovery and sharing are all turned on and the password protection turned off through "Advanced Sharing Settings" on my PC. I've then went into the folders I want to share, went Share>Specific People>Added "Everyone">Share and got "Your Folder is Shared" but now when I try to access it from my phone/tablet it wont connect, I can see my PC when I scan for device but nothing happens, VLC just has the circle loading icon, ES File Explorer lets me see my files and folders but not actually open them. I have uninstalled ad reinstalled the apps and also tried using Solid Explorer and the same thing happens, I can see my PC but when I try to connect i get nothing. Thanks

I really wasn't sure about the RAM, I read about the 1GB RAM per 1TB memory which I believe is really only for ZFS? I am planning on having 26/28TB. I have no plans or really any need to do any kind of RAID setup, for my situation RAID would just be a waste of money, I just plan on a JBOD system. Anything about the PSU? no idea what to look for there, I do plan on having it on most of the time but not 100%, 24hrs/6days or something. Yeah I'm leaning more towards the Node over the Arc Mini as I've built with it before and liked it, also would probably fit better in my room.

Hey, I'm going to finally be building my first NAS in the next couple months, I have a list of components but not 100% on them as I've never built a NAS before just looking to get some advice on them. I am not looking at doing any transcoding or anything just a storage box to keep all my files on. I do plan on having 5 drives, eventually. Hey, I'm going to be building a nas soon but need a little help with the OS. So far I picked out the hardware I'm going to be using for it and am happy but I have been looking at FreeNAS for the OS and I feel comfortable enough to use it but I don't want/need RAID, I know all the benefits of RAID still don't want it most of what I will be storing is easily replaced or have a backup externally. My problem is that ive read a couple times that FreeNAS isn't really "good" used with multiple drives not in RAID. Can anyone offer some alternatives or guidance on using FreeNAS without RAID.

Hey, so finally got around to playing The Witcher 3 on my newly upgraded PC but when I change the settings to Ultra and then change the resolution to 3840 x 2160 or 4096 x 2160 (it sets res to 1440p automatically) the picture becomes too big and half of it is off screen. Am I missing something? Both the Windows display settings and Nvidia Control Panel resolution settings are set to 3840x2160 I'm trying to display it on my TV, a Samsung UE48JS8500 (3840x2160 @ 60Hz) and my GPU is the MSI GTX 1080.

Hey first time I have used Homegroup and it doesn't work...:( I have 2 PC's a TV and a Laptop that I would like to have connect. I set up Homegroup on my main computer and from what I can tell its working, I then tried joining the homegroup from the 2nd PC but on the Homegroup section there is no option to join stil says "There is currently no homegroup on your network". and the only option is to create one. My tv though (Samsung JS8500) does pick it up and I can join (without putting in a password) but it only shows the Pictures, Music, Videos folders for some reason. I havn't bothered trying the laptop yet The 2 PC's are running Windows 10 and both of them as well as the TV are connected by ethernet cabel to the same router Or is there another option that I can use other than Homegoup so I can access files from my other devices. Hey, Been trying to downgrade from Win 10 back to Win 7, it has been over a month so don't get the option in the "Recovery" section any more. My problem is when I put in my old Win 7 install DVD it doesn't boot from CD just come straight to desktop, when I press F2/Del I get the message "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD..." so I do but then it just boots to my desktop and nothing happens.... I have tried running the install from the setup.exe on the disc but after the first option to install all updates etc. it give me the error message "Windows could not update the installation files. To install Windows, close Setup and restart the installation. Error code: 0x6"
