People thinking that APUs are good for gaming. NO.
my dad thinking that having an external 5400rpm HDD hooked up to USB 3.0 will make it faster. NO.
When people think you need an optical drive to boot a computer (they did at one point.)
People thinking I am hacking when I bypass a command line block at school. That is not hacking, that is CRACKING.
When people mix RAM and brag about how awesome their 12/24GB computer is!!!
The absolute worst though is when someone is goaded into buying an overpriced video cable because "those cheap ones will give you really bad image quality."

Or whenever a member of Best Buy's computer staff opens his mouth (no offense to those of you on here who DO work at Best Buy -- this does not apply to you because you are here)

    Yes, yes yes and yes.

This is EA. This is no surprise. When they decide "oh well it's time for you to buy more" they will force you to if they can, possibly with a gun if they could find a way to get away with it. Also I love that instead of -snip- you put -unholy logo-

    Death to EA

Good day ladies and gents, and please put on your tinfoil hats for this would be one conspiracy that just came to me...
Also, pardon if this is in the wrong section since I'd like to put this in the foreground for a small amount of time...

As we can remember Battlefield 3 became free on Origin last June. Since then, a lot of new players joined the crowd...
Now, more than a month later, I've experienced and seen posts about drops in performance on this game.

This topic is inspired by this thread...

    Now for the conspiracy part...

With Battlefield 4 in full swing and Hardline coming soon, I think that EA is deliberately nerfing Battlefield 3 in an attempt to sway its
install base, including especially those who got the game through Origin's "On The House", to abandon Battlefield 3 (whose servers
would shut down quietly in the background), and move to Battlefield 4, while at the same time, increasing the hype for Hardline.

    My proof:
Posts/topics regarding decreased performance of Battlefield 3 on hardware that should be more than capable of running the systsem.

Please note that this is just a theory and should be taken with a grain of salt unless proven otherwise.

I knew that this was happening on their EA sports line of games...
I never expected it to reach their Battlefield series of games... I've been watching over the series since it went head to head with Call of Duty and Medal of Honor...

    *cough* did someone say conspiracy?

The problem with calling this a conspiracy is that a conspiracy must be unprovable, and this is easily provable.
All one must do is look for this simple logo on the game

This sort of behavior is well documented from EA, especially their sports division. They shutdown servers for old games in order to force everyone to buy the next one.

Also BF4 is doing horrible right now, the new expansion pack has several guns that are FAR overpowered, and the lag I've been experiencing even though I have a "low ping" in the 60ish range on the servers I play on has absolutely ruined the experience

I never went to college so I don't what type of experience it is. I can confirm if you didn't get contact information from old friends before graduating you'll be quite lonely. For example I never got a cell phone when I was in HS so I don't have contact info... I just live the life of a hermit now.

How meany people have seen performance drops in BF3/4 threw resent patches on Nvidia(IDK about amd, don't have there cards yet), or to the game? In BF3 I am now only getting 3fps and in BF4 after the most resent Nvidia patch I only get 30fps. How meany other people are getting this same thing? I think this would be interesting to see...

yeah, I suppose we'll only be stuck with gigabit for a while, great thing Australia has the best internet ever \sarcasm
but I was mostly speaking hypothetically, IF we were to have this connection now, would it be limited to the sata bus/ssd speeds. And the answer was yes.

Why is it that people seem to think Al Qaeda is a joke? Whatever they may or may not be, they do kill innocent people. Hate the NSA all you want and I am with you, but don't act like Al Qaeda is something to take lightly. They're a group of religious extremists, which makes them extremely dangerous like all religious extremists, as their beliefs make them think they have a "divine justification" to kill anyone they want.

might of been a good idea to snip my post .
yeah ive had multiple intel and nvidia rigs over the years and moved to the underdog because i was tired of intels monopoly and nvidia bullcrap schemes and have never been happier, i will move back when they stop, and im sure they'll do that once they stop making money  (never)
gk110 isnt technically crippled (780 is, its like cut down to 75%!!) its the 770 and lower rebrands that suffer (though the customers will say otherwise, because customers know better than the manufacturer right?)
why is 770 (680) kepler, but 750ti maxwell?
so 750ti is maxwell but higher end maxwell is 8xx series? sorry if i dont want to be on my knees sucking that while im being headf******.
imagine if amd released their cards as the 8 series so...
    8450, 8570, 8650, 8670, 8750, 8770, (750ti competitor).......
    but thier higher tier was, 9830, 9850, 9870, 9950, 9970
then imagine if some of the lower tier was GCN 1.0 and some of the higher tier was GCN 2.0
now to bring it to the current time amd (nvidia) is about to come out with some new stuff on their "BRAND NEW GCN 2.0" architecture with a completely new name...
so nvidias releasing maxwell cards and calling them the 8xx series....but the 750/750ti is maxwell but 7xx series?
also why is the gtx750 a gtx?.....shouldnt it just be a gt? and shouldnt the 750ti be a gts or something? isnt gtx meant to be enthusiast/ high end? did they make a gtx630Ti superduperclock when i wasn't looking?
are we going to have the 850, 850ti, 860, 870, 880, (followed a few months later by an 880ti which hasnt been castrated...) only to find out that theres a 950ti, 960, 960ti, etc that are actually the high end, why does nvidia need to split thier cards across 2 generation numbers, they're screwing people around so that they cant get a grip.
i'll play devils advocate here and say that amd's naming scheme is a little off in places but i can see why they did it. the r7 is low to medium and the r9 is mid to high end...fine, but the r7-265......its my 7850 and is basically a 7870 which when it came out was mid-high end, if you didnt have a above the 78xx line you had a 7950 or 7970 AND THAT WAS IT, so why nuke its name?
the amount of people that think the r7-260x is good and the 265 only a little better dont know the difference (try doubel the memory bandwidth to feed double the frame buffer), IMHO as someone who had a 2gb 7770 the r7-260x/7790 is just a 7770 on steroids without the grunt (or rops) to push the pixels the 2gb frame buffer can hold when its not being limited by its 128 bit bus.
nvidia-hardware aside needs to stick to a propper naming scheme and stop messing around with peoples heads just because they know their customers will blindly follow them regardless.
amd-hardware aside they need to rethink thier naming scheme a little, the r7/r9 thing is a good idea, much like intels i3/i5/i7 line people can easily relate to that even if they dont know the difference between a 4350 and 4460, i think having the r7-350, r7-360, r7-370, r7-380, r7-390 etc would be a better move (with the odd x edition, sure) then next year have the r8-XXX and so on. or just copy what they both did in the past and start from "amd radeon 250", 260, 260x, 270, 270x...
oh and btw guys memory controllers dont like that.
    128, 256, 512 bit bus=512, 1gb, 2gb, 4gb, 8gb.
    192, 384 bit bus=768, 1.5gb, 3gb, 6gb etc.
typically its 256mb of vram per 64bit bus.
