  1. I tend to use a hook grip when writing with the pen so I don't smudge the ink as often... it took me a few days to get used to but once muscle memory came into play, I was able to write faster with a pen like this compared with ballpoints... I still can't write in print consistently tho...
  2. Not from the US but I primarily write in cursive unless instructed otherwise... I also frequently use one of these: Which makes writing in cursive absolute bliss... People here don't care as long as it's legible... Official documents require us to write in print tho...
  3. Thanks to the above responses... looks like I'll have to resort to running a VM... I just hope I can teach it well to the user... I'll be using VM ware for this... any way I can get it to access a USB Floppy drive?
  4. I'll be (finally) building my HTPC by Dec 27... I already tracked down where to get my parts (Q1900m, 320GB HDD 2.5", 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 ValueRAM) and have a draft budget prepared... Now to wait for the funds to pour in... I'll also be doing the white case mod with the "まるゆ" insignia painted onto one of the side panels...
  5. Thought so... but I'm looking for less desperate methods if they exist as the primary user of the software falls under 'non-techie' class...
  6. hey there, I need to run a really old piece of software on win 8.1 x64... I can't disclose much about the program but it was developed around the Win 3.1 - Win 98 days... back when 64-bit was not mainstream... I have already tried the standard methods and am about to move on to a VM that runs Win XP Pro x86, but am still looking for less-desperate methods... Anyone know how to do this? The program outright refuses to run on x64... even in compatibility mode... Thanks in advance...
  7. I want to shut myself in my room for a few days...

Being what your username implies? A hermit. :D

Never really got chances to do so myself, but there has been times when I would have wanted to lock myself up for a while...

Few days is fine. More than a week starts nearing dangerous hikikomori -line.

      Exactly...

Too bad it's impossible go full hikikomori here...

  8. Given that it's something that will be attached to you for a long time, and will most likely be used to identify you for a while, horrible looks is a downside... You're spending cash for something to get you from point a to point b and you will be noticed by people... drive a juke and you can already imagine their faces going sour (or laughing hysterically)... so might as well spend and get something like a Forester XT and use the change to get an Alto...
  9. Out of context, 'scat singing' brings forth very weird images... the internet has ruined me...
  10. JDM Skylakes. There should be no issues. The chips should've passed through quality control before being shipped... and the chance of getting a DOA is very small...

Should I paint my spare mATX case matte white?

Since the case is assembled with rivets, I'll get rid of those and replace them with machine screws and nuts...

^Plasti-dip or acrylic? (plasti-dip is really expensive here...) This is the case I might VESA mod... I'll do the interior in high-temp matte black paint... the metal exterior in matte white... the black (plastic) front panel also in white... Then replace all the LEDs with white LEDs... The entire mod will cost me short of 20USD...
  13. A shipping container full of brand new 16TB hard drives... You said only one...
  14. Doesn't matter... Recording live shows should be deemed illegal... same with recording cinema screenings of movies... But how do you differentiate between people using the phones for communications from those recording the show?
  15. You have not met the Vios yet, my friend... This thing is the Rattata of the car world... You'll see more of this on our streets than you'll see Zubats in a cave... and for that I loathe the Vios... It is the car for those who don't want to think about which car to buy... and Toyota has the gall to put together a one-make race for this thing... If Toyota made a car without soul, this is their masterpiece of vehicles without soul... The corolla is dead... The E100 was the last one that was actually cool..
  16. If he can collab with a company that can do this, he can hire a bunch of programmers to make a bot that DMCA-reports any video that doesn't come from his official channels...
  17. I don't know... I'd rather build a Faraday cage around the auditorium rather than resort to this... i.e. a building on our campus is a Faraday cage... once inside, abandon all hope of using your cellphone (GSM networks at least)... and it's not even perfectly sealed... That would be called ECM... and it's most likely illegal...

Probs acrylic, like be honest when are you going to paint and it be like "nah thats so shit i want to peel off the paint" you can just sand it back down and then repaint it the original colour.
