    So... yeah...
I decided to get started on blogging here... Not sure if it's just the effect of boredom or caffeine overdose...
    Stay tuned for more posts...
    and while we're here...
I might be feeling the downsides of AMD with Watch_Dogs... Can't get it to go consistent 45fps at 720p high (HBAO, Temporal SMAA)...
It might just be the crappy code since I can run most modern games at 45-75fps at similar settings...

I just completed watching episode 1 of Kantai Collection (more info here)...
The animation was beautiful, but leaves much most of the cast (the source material has over 150 characters) off-screen or in cameos...
The story revolves around Fubuki as she joins the fleet as a newbie...
A comment that I can make on how the anime handled this is that the supposed admiral/commander of the fleet is a shitty admiral... He sent off a level 1 ship to an event map (the enemies that appeared match that of an event that happened in the game), equipped them with weak equipment, and expected them to sink the enemy in a single run...
This anime sort of requires some prior knowledge of the game's lore and some WWII history to fully enjoy it...
Even with these complaints, the first ep was good enough to have me wanting the next episodes already...
for now, enjoy Mustuki's pouting face...

So... I just figured out why my higher-end phone (than the Alcatel One Touch 5021e) won't play 720p...
It was the fault of f*cking VLC... Yes gents, VL f*cking C...
I enabled full hardware aceeleration and my vids won't play properly... So I went and said f*ck it and got MXPlayer instead...
    Now it plays properly...
The thing with VLC is that it apparently uses software decoding even if you tell it to use hardware decoding... not sure why...
So yeah... don't get VLC for playback and go get MXPlayer instead...
