  1. So I've had this problem for a few days where any message from a specific contact get deleted as soon as I view them. I can see them in the notification bar and send messages to him but as soon as I open the conversation or try to reply via the notification bar, the message disappearing. I tried looking into the mmssms.db sqlite database on the phone and the messages exist there, however they have the thread_id value of -1 (I assume that is the conversation ID). Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this without losing all my messages? I would rather not lose them if it was possible. This is on a Samsung Galaxy S4 running the 5.0.1 Goldeneye ROM (Android). What I've tried: -Restarting phone -Reflashing ROM and restoring messages -Deleting conversations from phone -Deleting problem contact -Deleting the messages that were disappearing from the database Background: This started when I was texting two people - the one I am currently having problems with and another person. Some of the problem person's text began showing up in other people's conversations, so I restarted my phone and upon reboot, the messages were gone and his messages began getting deleted.
  2. My only issue with iFixit is it costs like twice the price of the product to ship it to Canada.
  3. I don't have any self-powered external hard drives, but I think I remember seeing something about a device failing to enter selective suspend in a powercfg /energy report
  4. Nope, marked exactly the same as the rest. Have no idea what would cause this. Hardware failure? Problems with power delivery when switching on/off battery?
  5. Ok I just tried that, still an issue. I also just tried plugging the receiver into other USB ports, the issue doesn't show up then. Just a single USB port has the problem.Well that was easy I guess
  6. I'm not sure when this started, but it didn't happen when I first had the mouse. It started a day or so afterward. Every time I either plug in or pull out my laptop charger, the mouse disconnects and reconnects a second later. Is this intended behavior or an actual problem? Windows 10 Asus RoG G551JW
  7. Alright, I fixed the issue. It was indeed an issue with the BIOS, I downgraded from 207 to 205 and sleep started working again. For those that have this problem (if anyone at all): 1) Download and install the WinFlash program from the Asus website 2) Download BIOS build 205 3) Open a command prompt window 4) Navigate to WinFlash directory (default C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\WinFlash) using cd command 5) Type this into command prompt: winflash.exe /nodate This command will let you run WinFlash without it caring about the dates on the BIOS versions, letting you downgrade. Follow the prompts and select the BIOS file you downloaded. Hope this helps someone in the future.
  8. Sorry for late reply, I didn't think anyone would respond to this. Thanks, I'll try moving to the previous BIOS version to see if that fixes the issue.
  9. Summary: I've had this problem for a while now, and I've tried a number of things to fix it. Whenever my laptop goes into sleep mode, it shuts down unexpectedly somewhere in the process. I never had this problem with windows 8 or 8.1, and even after upgrading to Windows 10. This problem only showed up after doing a fresh install for a third time (first time wasn't working great, second time I installed Pro instead of Home). Using the keyboard after it is put to sleep or opening the lid does turn the computer on, so it is in some sort of weird sleep mode. Here's what I've tried: Upgrading BIOS Setting Power-Off Savings to Disabled in BIOS Defaulting Power Settings sfc /scannow Installing Windows 8.1 drivers Installing Intel ME 9.5 Uninstalling Realtek Audio Turning off Fast boot Hardware: Asus G551JW +i7-4720HQ +16GB RAM +nVidia 960M +250GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD BIOS version 207 Peripherals: Logitech MX Master HyperX Clouds v1 headset Files: Energy-Report.html (I can't upload it directly for some reason, so I'm putting it on google drive): https://docs.google.com/document/d/14Qu7oyF8uzXVg1-MGylxhATat4OvFkpRY9hE7CLOpA8/edit?usp=sharing Event Viewer Logs are attached There may be some things I've missed and if you need anything, let me know. 10. How do these companies keep getting these GPUs in these tiny boxes? Want this so I can host some game servers without loading my actual computer
  11. That keyboard looks sooo nice! Might have to buy some new keycaps though, I'm not good enough yet to not have the letters printed on the keys
  12. Yeah I've not once used the other mode, not sure which I am on right now
  13. Thanks for the help guys, it makes sense that it would be an anti-dust thing, but why it only happens once in a blue moon?
  14. So, as in the title, one or two of my fans spins up to max speed right after loading Windows(I think it's my GPU fans), before going back to normal a couple seconds later. This is only the second time it has happened and the first time was a few months ago. Does anyone know what might cause this? Bad hardware elsewhere? Evil cosmic ray? Glitch in the matrix? Any help would be appreciated. Specs: CPU: i5-4690k Mobo: MSI Z97 G5 RAM: HyperX Fury 2x4GB GPU: Asus DCu2 R9 290 PSU: Corsair RM 750 SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB HDD: WD 1TB Blue
