Well I could write you pages about myself...but I'll keep it short since we are all have things to do. I stated messing with computers around the 98 SE era...seems forever ago. I have messed with ever windows version since and a lot of Macs. I do some carpentry, along with have an active interest in cars. I do collect music...on a small scale I have (currently) 16.9 GBs of music, which is a tiny scale of what I use to have. I also have about 500+ GB of movies & TV Shows. I do not currently have a desktop & am using my laptop.

  1. Awesome, thank you so much, I believe I'm going to go with a thinner rad tho.
  2. So I want to get into water cooling but was wondering if a 63mm radiator would be too thick for the top part of the phanteks luxe.
  3. So basically I have no idea where to start on this one. I want to do a server for backups, plex, and store movies, so that way I can keep the main desktops noise to a minimum. This will run 24/7, which I don't think will cost that much in electricity. I've been looking into xeon, but it needs to be fairly low powered and have room for a raid 1 setup. Also I do not know what the passmark is for streaming outside your home network, but I would want to be able to stream to 4 TVs, plus one or two outside my network. Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you. Note: I will not be streaming movies in 4k, just 1080p.
  4. That's actually fine for the ram if we decide to upgrade it I will just use 2 sticks at 8gb a piece. Haha. I doubt it will come to that. Thank you for your help.
  5. I like this but is it hard to update the bios for ryzen?
  6. Nothing fancy just wireless things would be nice. 1 terabyte hard drive soul be plenty.
  7. Basically this is for my father and he doesn't really use anything heavy on it, no gaming, just uses it for photos, emails, research, Microsoft office and that's about it. Currently he has a 10 year old desktop that still has DDR2 in it and it takes about 100+ seconds to load, and just normal things just weigh the processor down. I was wondering what kind of build to do for this, budget is $500 dollars, monitor is already bought with speaker system, and I currently have an SSD on order (Crucial 500gb from amazon) that we can use as well. I do need a wireless mouse and keyboard included in the budget tho. Thanks in advance. This is what I was thinking. 8. I know they are riddled with wiring problems, same reason I will not buy a charger or a Lincoln anymore. Also thought about both of these as well.
  9. Well lets be clear 18000 to 19000 is my limit i really dont car on the car so much as long as it has 4 doors and awd for the winter, alot of traveling will be done. I prefer sedans tho. Found a catty tho.
  10. I like them but I might consider it if it had 4 doors. carseats aren't fun in coupes.
  11. I was looking for right around the 18,000 dollar max, I would have a higher one but I have to get my fiance a Toyota Camry as well. How are the repairs on the G35x tho, just curious since I know Audi and higher end cars have higher repair costs as well.
  12. Haha. I know I know its a tech community, but there was alot of car people around here when I was around more. So lets see if someone has some input. Currently I have a 2009 Chevy Impala with 156000 miles on it I plan on trading in when I move here this season. I was thinking of getting either one of these two cars: 2015 Nissan Altima 3.5 SV w/ Navigation. Pro's: heated everything for winter, navigation, good gas mileage, among other things. cons: no AWD. 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium with the 2.0L I4 Turbo engine. Pro's: AWD, navigation, spacious, good gas milage. Con's: Not heated everything. Problem is I am looking more to which is a reasonable car and why, like I'm asking people who may own them or for opinions. Basically I need a family car for my next car and I want to know which is safer, and ect ect, and what your opinions are. Thanks.
  13. I wasn't meaning that as an insult and I'm sorry you took it that way. I was just trying to be realistic.
  14. Quiet Decent Gaming capabilities. Bluray player.
