  1. ReasonTV released a video on Assassin's Creed's libertarian view of the world and the embedded message. Not sure if it's accurate thou. It could be but considering who produced the video (ReasonTV) I'm a bit skeptical. The video:
  2. Compared to the components the table probably was cheap. The former seemed to total at least $6000.
  3. At least as far as battery life goes in smart watches, Pebble is hard to beat. They got that nailed. Haven't heard that any other smart watch came even close.
  4. Hmm. The first one I found on Amazon is $500: Casio WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch. Seems they have a different approach when compared to Citizen. More of a man-of-the-nature. Plus this seems to be a smart watch although at this point I'm having a hard time making the distinction. At least battery life would suggest that this is a smart because it isn't that great.
  5. What are the main functionalities that you use? Read texts obviously. Is the primary function still to check out the time? Something complicated like tweets or facebook?
  6. Up until now and probably for some to come that's my choice as well. Except for the Windows part. Plus a nice shining piece on my wrist But I'm thinking about that Citizen proximity watch. Eventually I'll buy a new watch. It'll be solar powered. Maybe even proximity watch..
  7. Seems like Citizen is releasing watches that are synced to your phone via Bluetooth to deliver some of the more used features of smart watches. You get notifications about calls and texts. Comparing the latter to smart watches it's a notification instead of the text itself. Personally I like Citizen watches. I have several. I have found that their Eco Drive watches (solar powered) are rock solid. I live in Finland. It's not exactly a sunny place but the watch has never stopped. They claim that their proximity watches never run out of battery because they're also Eco Drive watches so at best it could be better than smart watches on the battery life department; something that @LinusTech has in numerous videos raised as a very important issue with smart watches. This could be for me even thou the price gives me second thoughts (~$600 - $650). It's also a real watch. Something that you're not embarrassed to wear like most of the smart watches although the current models aren't exactly my style. It merely adds some convenient features without making you shake your arm to see the time or constantly keep charging it because it can't make it through the day. I'd be interested to see what the other watch manufacturers have up their sleeve (worst quip ever). Could be an OK idea for a video.
  8. Just to provide further encouragement to leave email to the pros: How I Lost My $50,000 Twitter Username. I know I might be annoying at this point since you already replied but I had to share this because I was surprised when I read it.
  9. Wow. No wonder I didn't pick up that one. Very local and I'm not from around China or Hong Kong.
  10. Or make up brands when there are real ones. They could've just picked up some randomly or at least ones that fit into the story. The rich guy would smoke Marlboro and so on. Or at least in Finland Marlboro is (or at least was the last time I checked 20 years ago) one of the more expensive brands.
  11. @Dan Castellaneta true. In my first post I referred to a youtube clip. It ranted quite a few times about the cars. Both the main characters and the ones that had less than a second of screen time.
  12. A bit of a stretch, yes. Sorry, I can't help but comment on stuff like that even thou it's probably a distraction Tends to be somewhat useful in code reviews but probably not elsewhere. I noticed the macho-bullshit-military-posturing on China's part. I've gotten used to that in some American movies and TV-series; first season of NCIS comes to mind. I missed the Hong Kong part. How was it expressed?
  13. It'd be an interesting conversation to consider whether Bumblebee (Chevrolet Camaro) is a product placement Can something that's playing such a central role be considered product placement?
