  1. I'd go with the 4080 Super. I like ray tracing, and 16gb is likely to be ok for the foreseeable future. I'd want to upgrade to 24gb once new consoles drop. Drivers are also more stable on Nvidia based on both personal experience and what's I've read on Reddit. Just do yourself a favour and get a good monitor after upgrading the GPU. The monitor in my opinion is just as important as the graphics card.
  2. I would 100% go for the microcenter deal. Buddy, that's not even a question! The upgrade is significant.
  3. I upgraded my PC at the end of 2014, where I got a 4790k, 16gb, EVGA 970 FTW, Strix micro ATX board, Corsair H100i AIO, Corsair 350D case. The only thing I kept from before was my sata SSD. I didn't really have a problem running anything on a 1080p panel. I remember Witcher 3 pushing the build to the limit though. I think I got everything on Black Friday, and then I updated from a GTX 770 to the 970 on Christmas because I wasn't getting the performance I wanted. 980Ti back then was aimed at 1440p. Nothing could play 4k properly at the time.
  4. I was watching Jujutsu Kaizen with the feature turned on and I very much liked it.
  5. I think it would be a good idea to force people into studying and taking a test about social media and its repercussions. If passing, they'd be granted a "license code" that would be mandatory for signing up. That license code would also be attached to who you are, so creating fake accounts would be significantly harder. If shit hits the fan, authorities would likely have an easier time tracking the perpetrator.
  6. I actually found the answer in a different post: https://ca.msi.com/Promotion/best-QD-OLED-monitors
  7. Curious about it, as I can't find the information anywhere. I purchased mine yesterday at my local Memory Express store.
  8. I never leave it on, and just leave G-Sync checked on.
  9. Well, if you make money out of the platform through your not so well-made videos, that's a purpose. If you've never built your fanbase on other social media platforms, you're in for some trouble. That aside, Tiktok and other similar apps could all burn for all you and I both seem to care.
  10. I wish Samsung would create the Pixel phones, and let Google handle the software experience. We had bost of both worlds
  11. My high end ASUS cards always had coil whine. I'm now on MSI and I either lucked out, or it's much better in general.
  12. Hi, I bought a AW3225QF monitor when it came out, and I was looking into how to better connect my computers to it. My PC has a 4090 SUPRIM X, and the Macbook Pro I use for work is the 16" M1 Pro model from 2021. The Macbook doesn't have HDMI 2.1, and it can only send a 4k 120hz signal via one of its USB C ports, so I need a USB C to DP cable. The monitor only has one DP input, so I'd need to use the HDMI 2.1 output from my graphics card. According to Dell's website, here are the relevant specs on the Alienware monitor: 1x DP 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3)(Supports up to 3840 x 2160 240 Hz, DSC, HDR) 2 x HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3)(Supports up to 3840 x 2160 240 Hz FRL, HDR, VRR as per specified in HDMI 2.1) (including 1x HDMI 2.1 FRL with eARC - to support Dolby ATMOS signal pass-through) Would I be losing any performance or feature like G-sync compatible from my PC if HDMI 2.1 is used? Would I get anything beyond 4k 120hz from the Mac by using a USB C to DP 1.4 cable? Please note that through DP the monitor uses DSC to achieve super high refresh rate at 4k with HDR enabled, while using FRL through HDMI for what I believe to be the same results. Thanks! PS.: I'm trying to understand the connections prior to buying the cable, and the monitor takes 10 business days to arrive here in Vancouver, 5 business days on customs, 5 business days in transportation. Dell is sending these from America, even if buying from the Canadian store
  13. Can you get your hands on a Ducky One 3? Take a look at mechanicalkeyboards.com. You'll find much better keyboards that in this Mexican Amazon.
  14. You need a BIOS upgrade. If HP never created a BIOS to support such CPU, you're out of luck (unless, of course, you can hack your way through a custom BIOS).
  15. Get a 6800xt instead if possible. AMD cards usually don't have great drivers, but if you can look past that... Also, don't forget that your CPU will constrain the card, no matter which one of all these listed aboves you go with. Remember that 4k 120fps does not come cheap, unless you are running potato titles.
  16. Is HDR enabled on Windows Display Settings? What about Nvidia control panel (assuming you have an Nvidia card), is everything setup properly on the color settings? (10-12bit, high refresh rate, native resolution, full rgb specrum)
  17. One last thing before you pull the trigger. There are certain "monitor features" and ports such as displayport that are good quality of life things not available on TVs. That's what kept me from getting a C2 42" a while ago (and the size that would be a little bit big for my 25in deep desk)
  18. The 1080 Ti has DisplayPort 1.4a connections, which have a maximum total bandwidth of 32.4 Gbps. It's able to handle 240hz at 1440p. Your monitor has a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, which is also capable of handling that. There should be no issues. My suggestion is for you to try different drivers and a new DisplayPort cable. If that doesn't solve the problem, the monitor may be faulty.
  19. Buy now the 4070 Super. Assuming the rest of your PC is up to spec, I don't even need to know anything else, honestly. We don't know when the 5000 series will launch, pricing, or even stock availablility. It's utterly pointless to wait. If you had a card that satisfied you at the moment, you'd be waiting without asking advice.
  20. I'm a sucker for having everything matching colours as well. Everything I have is in black and wood tones, so white is a bummer, but since the monitor will hang against the wall on a black monitor arm, I won't be looking at the white part at all.
  21. I just purchased myself the Alienware AW3225QF. It became available this morning on Dell's website for CAD1500 (I think it's USD1200 in the US). It's the same panel as the upcoming ASUS and MSI models, with the difference that the Alienware is the only one that is curved (1700R). 4k, HDR, 240hz, 2nd gen QD-OLED, 32", glossy.
  22. How dare you degrade their holy name to a non capitalized, filthy word?
  23. I haven't really read through much, but if this is true, then Apple needs to get **ed. It's crystal clear they knew they were infringing a patent.
  24. I was mostly thinking of RAM and storage, but limited TDP can be another huge issue like you said. Guidelines to products should exist, because companies are masterminds at messing their own offerings.
