I would think that ,,to have an upgrade of processor and motherboard will be worth it for the 390x

What do you suggest then? New LGA 1155 motherboard ( they are starting really hard to find in my country) or i5 4690 and new motherboard?

Does the 290x bios work at 1ghz? If so, it should perform better than a slightly overclocked 290, so you might as well keep that.

Put your specific model number in here.
There are a few models from Sapphire no doubt.

I would have normally said switch to the other #1bios, back it up, put it on the other bios #2 profile.
Then go to techpowerup bios database, find YOUR card model, and its bios.

If you have a dual-bios card (most are) then you will never brick it.

But watch more than one of the tutorials on youtube of people doing theirs,.. get a better idea of what to do with multiple sources.
It's not that hard, You could do it in Windows or DOS, either is fine, I've not screwed up anything doing it windows all these years.
Sapphire prob has a tool to do it, just open that program, click update and FIND your downloaded/saved bios and select it.

    hi guys,,

recently i bought a used sapphire r9-290,, one of the bios setting  was flashed to r9-290x bios,, I am hoping that somehow i could return it to its original bios,, on the first setting (near the IO area) i could not overclock the card,,on the second setting which i believe is the uber mode was flashed,, set to 1ghz,, adding as much as MHz ,the GPU will give me a blue screen or absolute lag while gaming

can someone help me to bring/teach me how to flash the card to its original bios? or at least give me a link where I could flash my gpu,, i have downloaded a bios but I'm afraid to use the USB method,, I'm afraid to brick my card, I have been saving money for too long just to break it.

    thanks in advance guys

Firstly, very slick build there. Very nice!!

Whats the room temp when your gaming or what ever? If its in the mid teens to early 20 degrees C, I'd leave it alone. if its higher, then its doing a great job.

Honestly, I would go adjusting the fan curve before adding to a hardline setup.

    Just my opinion.

can you make a part list for the custom loop?
because im also planning to do a custom loop and we have the same kind of hardware

This kind of gives me pressure on my own upcoming custom loop!
And btw, the water cooled gpu alone gives a lot of advantage in terms of overclocking.

How did you afford custom water blocks for both the CPU and GPU then? Those are super expensive, and result in no benefit for the CPU since it's locked.

I do not understand why you would get a CPU that can't be overclocked in a custom loop. It doesn't make sense to me.

now im not too Up and up on AMD GPU temps but your CPU temps look about right. Perhaps there is a seating issue with the GPU? or like others have said this could be an issue with the block perhaps pull out the manual? and see if its a 1 way Directional Flow block? I Know some EK blocks are one way Flow.

You can get it lower, but it depends on your priorities, looks vs temps/noise.

First of all what is the gpu waterblock you are using?
You might be getting limited by the block performance itself.
From the looks of it you are using Alphacool NexXxos Monsta, that radiator likes a high static pressure high rpm fans like gentle typhoons ap15.
Also what pump are you using? You should at least get 1GPM flow rate so you get decent performance.
