  1. Thanks will look into these and see what I have available online!
  2. Sorry, UK and I don't have a specific budget, just something that gives a little headroom for 4k playback. If I can sell the 970 to add to the funding that's a bonus.
  3. Hello, I'm looking into making a cheap HTPC for my parents using a leftover gtx 970 i have. I was wondering if anyone could point me towards the right direction on what cpu/mobo/ram would be best. Looking for small form factor to take up as little room as possible that can play 4k video.
  4. Will grab occt and see what it says tomorrow, and hopefully will be able to do some stress tests in the case if it decides to arrive. I can quote you here when I have more data if you'd like? Either way thank you for all your help!
  5. Not tested in case (delayed delivery....) Or in the room it will be in yet, tested on mobo box with prime95 in the freezing living room and was a toasty 83° so instantly jumped on to look at a different cooler
  6. DRP4 actually looks quite nice so leaning towards that one and full specs are Mobo:MSI b450m gaming plus CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU:Asus strix gtx 970 (kept from old rig so to be upgraded In future) RAM: trident z neo 2x8gb 3600mhz PSU:Corsair RM550x CASE: Meshify mini c Storage: 1x 250gb SSD Samsung 840 Evo (boot drive), 1x500gb SSD crucial mx500 (selected game drive), 1x2tb HDD Seagate Barracuda, 1x500gb HDD generic 2.5in laptop drive (because why not)
  7. Sounds good, think I'll go with the DRP4 or D15s ,after comparing them, and see if they do black fans for it at a later date. Was looking at replacing the stock case fans in the future too as the pc is in a quite small room with little ventilation. With raising the fan to clear the ram it would be 2mm higher than the cases cooler clearance which is slightly depressing, but if you're going for a mid size matx case you got to accept the consequences
  8. Will have a look into the DPR4 and the D15s, such a shame being off by only 2mm for the D15. Sand down that fan by 2.5mm? hmmm
  9. I see, apparently the d15 can't clear the trident z neos anyways unfortunately. Or atleast you have to move the fan up slightly
  10. Thought chromax was their solution to shit brown fans? Just seems that the trident z neos take up a big chunk of room. Preferably Amazon but can order from other sites, UK and considering everything I've read about Ryzen cooling being the best benefit to them I'd be willing to go up and possibly slightly over around £100 to get as best cooling as possible for that price point. Edit: more than happy to go AIO or Air
  11. Looking for a recommended cooler for my Ryzen 5 3600, I have the meshify c mini with trident z neo ram so clearance is not the best. I do plan on overclocking at some point (possible that AIO is better?). Thanks in advance!
  12. also got a question about this, what about running the 2nd monitor from the onboard gpu if its only 60 fps? if available of course.
  13. Will most likely go with the rmx but will have a closer look at them when I get a chance. Thank you for your help!
  14. Sorry should have added that, UK and probably around £80. Possibly more if there's any big benefit in a slightly more pricey PSU
  15. I'm about to start a new pc build. Will be getting a new mobo/CPU/ram (PSU) for now and upgrading GPU at a later date. The hardware will be a MSI b450 Gaming plus matx, R5 3600 and 2x8gb 3600mhz tridentz neo. Current GPU is a gtx 970 and would be looking twords a 2070 super or if I can get my hands on one, a 2080. Any suggestions or help on which PSU would be best for such a build is much appreciated! Thanks
