are using a bootable flash or CD for your OS install? what are installing it on HDD or SSD?

Hey guys, So a couple of days ago i posted about my PC suddenly shutting down at random intervals. Now the issue is getting worse the moment i enter my password on the login screen and hit enter the computer shuts down and restarts without any error messages. i am starting to doubt it might be a PSU issue but i can't verify as a PSU issue would pop up under load. i haven't done any recent modifications to the system other than add 2 TB HDD. which is working fine, and i haven't heard of a HDD causing shutdowns i am completely out of ideas to the point that i am considering just starting a new build System specs: 550W thermaltalk PSU - i7-950 - 12 kingstone KVR RAM - MOBO: Intel DX58SO2

i am using the HDMI port and the DP. but for the DP i am using a DP to HDMI converter

well the card has very little in the way of ports it has 1 HDMI 1 DP 1 DVI. so i have an (HDMI to HDMI) and (DP to HDMI converter for the other port) also the cables are new unless they shorting from the head of the connector next to the body of the case

I have 12 GB of ram i don't think it's causing an issue

Hi guys, so a month ago i decided to switch from a single monitor to a dual monitor setup so i picked up two used dell P-series monitors a 22" and a 24" and ever since then all hell broke lose, any time i connect both monitors and start running programs on both. my computer shuts down suddenly and restarts. For example if i full screen a youtube video on the 22" and browse the web on the 24" the computer just restarts, no error messages or anything. if i disconnect the second monitor and only use the 24" it runs fine, and gaming is completely out of the question. So i was thinking it could be a PSU issue but a PSU would shut down with one or two monitors, then i thought maybe its a GPU issue and i am running out of GPU Memory since its a 1GB card but i am not getting any memory errors. i've already updated the GPU drivers to the latest stable version but i still can't figure out the source of the issue. My setup is i7-950, AMD Radeon 7770 (Note that both monitors are connected via HDMI to the GPU), Thermaltake 730W.

Hello guys, Recently one of my HDDs Failed, So i took the precautionary measure of disconnecting the drive till i send it for data recovery. but afterwards every time i boot up my PC i got a Boot mgr missing error. which would make sense if the OS was installed on that HD but its not, the OS is running from a 120 GB SSD. And the HDD only contained files like pictures and other documents, no programs or anything. i tried going into the BIOS and making sure the boot order is proper. but even then it wont boot. The only way i can get it to boot from the SSD is if i go into the boot menu and select the SSD. is there a way to fix this issue without formatting? Thanks in Advance

I am a bit of a fan when it comes to attempting DIY solutions but usually the risk is much lower than completely losing my data. So i guess i am taking your advice and checking with one of the local electronics retailers that offer a data recovery service, i am just hoping the fee is reasonable. Hello guys, So Recently I've run into a bit of a problem i started hearing clicking noise from my 500 Gb seagate which we know is a sign of failing HDD but just to make sure i ran crystal disk info and it is indeed reporting a bad HDD. To make matters worse i use this HDD as a photo backup. I've already ordered a new higher capacity drive but with all the logistics issues its gonna be a week before amazon delivers it. So meanwhile i'd like to transfer the data on this drive to the other one before it takes a turn to the worse. Now i tried to normally copy and paste the data but the speeds are inconsistent (I assume the head is failing) and it keeps disconnecting and the copying process is terminated. My question is there a safer way to copy the data from the disk without risking the data? PS: The failing HDD has about 13780 Power on hours while the other HDD has 39700 Power hours on and its showing fine in crystal disk info. which i think is weird.

Hello guys, So I've recently moved back to android after i got a Huawei Nova 5T, I used an iphone 6s for the past year (not a bad phone). During my time using the iphone i got used to the Notes app and the table creation feature in it, pretty handy not gonna lie. when i switched back to android i started looking for notes apps that are just as simple yet include the table creation feature. couldn't find much. most of the apps i found have either a bad UI or are Ad infested or they simply don't work. in the mean time i am using Microsoft word as a temporary solution. So my question is does anyone know of any app that is similar to the iOS notes app?. I wouldn't mind paying if the app is good and the price is reasonable.

i mean i've had a couple of HTC devices with the front facing stereo speakers and tbh i rarely listen to music from the phone speakers i am mostly connected to my cars Bluetooth or to my headsets it's one of those features thats nice to have when you need it. anyway thanks for your opinion

Hey guys i am looking to buy a new phone. i am kinda struggling to choose between the Oneplus3T and the HTC One 10. i don't know if anyone has had an experience with either but i'd appreciate any input, i 'd like the phone to have custom ROMs on the internet so that i can just simply root it in the future if i need to. and off-course something with good build quality, i've owned an HTC one M7 and a One X9.. and i love the HTC build quality. Hey tt2468, i assume you want me to try those steps on a 3rd party router, if so sadly i don't have a router other than the one etisalat provided and my old router doesn't have Vlan settings. and i am hesitant to buy a new router to try if it will work, but ill try to borrow one from a friend and follow the instructions you gave me. Hey guys, I've been experiencing a problem with my bluetooth recently. I am always connected to bluetooth in my car or using my samsung level U, I use it for both media streaming and calls. But about one week ago when ever I am connected to bluetooth either to my car or my samsung level U I can only listen to music, but can't receive or make calls. So I'd be listening to music but if I get a call.. I can't answer through the car i need to pick up my phone. Same thing for my level U. I've tried everything from simply unpairing and pairing it again. To clearing the bluetooth cache. The problem only seems to go away when I restart my phone. But it will only work once after I disconnect bluetooth the first time the problem appears again. Ive also tried to simply check the phone audio selection under the bluetooth menu but it wont check it. FYI i use to have an HTC One M7 before this phone. And it works just fine. I also tested a Samsung Note 3 with both the car and the Level U, it works just fine. Specs: Phone: HTC One X9 dual sim ( Android 6.0)

Hey guys So a month ago i got scammed by my ISP to upgrade my internet connection, which i feel into. i got a speed upgrade and a "Free router" i was enthused non the less hence my old router was cutting out and dying, after the ISP technician installed everything and left of course i went into the router setup to forward some ports for my FileZilla FTP server and other stuff but it didn't work. Long story short turns out the new router that has been installed is programmed to block any type of port forwarding or any advanced setting, and to add over to that i cannot use any 3rd party router because i need a router that supports PNP even if i buy a router that supports PNP i can only use it as a range extender by connecting it to the carpy ISP router (How did i not see this coming ). anyway i am stuck with this connection for the duration of my contract as frustrating as it may be. Now to the real problem here. i want to run my FTP connection again as i often use it to retrieve files, stream media and other stuff. but i can't do it since my stupid ISP is blocking me from forwarding the ports on my router. so is there any other way i can use fileZilla again? like if i can Host it somewhere else or i don't know.. i am a newbie when it comes to networking. Hope you guys can help, if i left out anything or forgot to mention it ask and ill be happy to provide it.

Hi guys. I've been having this issue for quite sometime now. Suddenly my m7 would shutdown but i wont boot up again. I've tried looking around google for a solution. But most people solve it by rebooting the phone using a hard reset and other tricks and before you ask yes. I have tried holding the power button for different intervals, tried hard reset, even tried draining the battery and recharging just incase it was a battery calibration issue. Finally i've the only way to bring the phone back to life is to connect it to a charger, it shows the charging sign on a black screen. Then all i have to do is hold the power button down till the phone reboots and it works again. (I've included some pictures of what happens when i connect a charger) The problem has been happening every now and then no specific timing. And nothing seems to be triggering it. Phone specs: HTC M7 Rooted to HD revolution Android lollipop with stock kernel and HTC sense 6. I've had this phone for 3 years now, i would just like to know if this is a battery related issue or the phone is nearing the end of its virtual life. If i've left something out ask me and ill be happy to tell you. Thanks in advance.

is your's rooted too? i am thinking it might be the ROM. unfortunately the area was well lit. and i tried other situations. still getting the same result. but thanks any way no.. if it comes down to having to re-root my phone back. ill just remove snapchat, i'd rather have my phone rooted not really.. i checked my note3 and my brother's s3 mini.. works fine on both

Hey guy's. i've recently installed snapchat on my htc one m7. and i started to test it out, but for some reason, when ever i want to record a video, the video becomes choppy, i dont know how to explain it but it looks like the frames drop the moment i start to record video and the quality becomes bad. you can even see the choppy frames once snapchat starts to playback your recorded segment, even if i send the video to someone, the playback on their phone is also choppy. i've tried other 3rd party apps. such as Instagram and it also does the same thing. however recording using the normal camera app is just fine. no issue there.. i've tried testing to see if the issue is related to my CPU being overloaded but it doesn't seem to affect it that much and i don't have any unnecessary apps running in the background. btw i am running a custom ROM but with stock kernel.(i included screenshots)

Hey guy's, I've been using my Note 10.1 for taking notes and studying at uni for a while now, but with the release of the new new lollipop and marshmallow on the way i wanna root it to more recent version of android, since samsung won't release an update themselves and the 4.3 its running on currently is becoming a bit laggy. I've tried looking around the XDA forums to find a good ROM but until now i can't find something both reliable and without any bug's, hence ill be needing the tablet to take notes, so the last thing i want is for the stylus or Snote not to work. And all the ROM's that i have seen either do t run on the SM-P600 model or have some issues with the Snote app. So i need to know you guy's know of a good lollipop, rom and stock kernel, i don't want anything fancy just something to get the job done.[emoji3] If you need anything just ask.

Hey guy's i recently moved my PC from the living room to my own room, and with the move i had to relocate the router. So what i have done is i have moved the router from the living room to my room and extended an Ethernet all the way from the modem (which is in the living room) to the router in my room. now the problem is that the Ethernet cable is extending halfway across the apartment and i need a more aesthetically pleasing solution , i know i can put the main router in the living room and get a wireless AP to my room. but i don't want the connection to less reliable, my experience is that an Ethernet cable is much more stable.. Anyway, what do you guys think? will a wireless solution be stable?
