  1. Oh yeah, way past due, grab a latest gen 6 or 8 core chip, doesn't need to be " K " series sku, decent Mb and you'll see huge gains in all games.
  2. Is it time to upgrade from a 7700k at 4.9 Ghz yet? Shadow of the tomb raider is the first real DX12 game to launch and having more cores will be the best solution in the near future for gaming, curious what you guys think!
  3. The whole point is to bring it to people's attention. I'm sure there are tons of people here who have had the same issues multiple times. Then the goal is to organize people and actually take action to end this blatant fraud. Everyone knows theyre selling defective and damaged panels. It's not an issue of qc. The only people who get good ones are lucky. Thsts not right. Ltt shills for Asus I'd expect everything less. Just like pc gamer still putting articles out as this model being the best gaming monitor available when they know about the issues as well the industry is protecting Asus and still promoting their product. It's time for consumers to make a Move.
  4. I should have know you guys would be less than useless. There are hundreds of reports of the same thing happening to other people. Bright dots dead pixels backlight bleed and damage. And your solution is to send it back? thats why companies like Asus KEEP selling defective products.
  5. It is 100% a problem created by Asus and not damage from shipping. The box is perfect with no signs of damage or abuse from the shipper.
  6. Has anyone else had the same issue with multiple ( 5+ ) Asus monitors showing up with damage, dead pixels, bright dots or backlight bleed? Anyone interested in starting a CLASS ACTION against Asus for wasting their time, money and selling a known defective product? because that's the only thing that will get this to stop. this is was done concerning the gtx 970 after the vram fiasco. And a class action is the only way the company will get the message to stop selling consumers defective and damaged products as new.
  7. Please don't move this from general. People need to see this. This is how my new $750 Asus Pg279q showed up today. Thats from the bubble wrap they used to try to protect it. And none of the scratches will wipe off with a clean microfiber cloth. This is after 7. Yes 7 defective Pg278qr's which all had bright dots or dead pixels. This is consumer fraud. Asus knows they're selling defective panels and they know their packaging is damaging monitors in transit.

    gsync question

Actually no. G sync makes the most difference at high refresh rates by making small changes in fps virtually unnoticeable.
  9. Op. This is your own inability to accept and acknowledge that ips glow and backlight bleed are unavoidable biproducts of how ips panels are produced and function. Not a problem with the monitors and I'm surprised they're accommodating you. Dead pixels. Bright pixels. Physical damage or scratches. By all means. But ips glow and bleed in an ips panel? thats all you over reacting and being unrealistic.
  10. It's kinda sad. The channel uses to focuse almost entirely on pc tech and hardware. With cool tech and gadgets on the side. Its become really diluted in their constant growth and need for near daily uploads. Probably would have have been better staying small and focusing their work. I wonder if we'll see ltt implode or downsize rapidly in the future. Floatplane club looks like it's doomed from the start. No clue why Luke's moving out to his own space and trying to push that project so heavily. Maybe fear of YouTube as a platform for revenue falling apart, only thing that makes sense.
  11. I don't need an video to inform me about the process methods or results. I was an offering an idea and opportunity to the team to create some more in depth and valueable content that is highly pertinent to the current state of intel cpus and overclocking.
  12. I'm not sure how much freedom employee's get to write or produce content. I'd really like to explore specific topics in detail and provide comprehensive content analyzing and testing various subjects, it's almost something ltt has been lacking in their production as of late. Great quality in terms of audio, video, production, editing etc but the content itself has been spread thin. I'm not sure if it'd be a good fit or if my perspectives and desires out of Tech media would go along with what seems to be their trend in content production... But I know I could bring in depth and high level technical content and exposition to the ball game. Hmmm.
  13. The delidding video by LTT has been one of the most half assed attempts I've probably ever seen that basically was just filler content for the channel. Any possibility you guys could revisit this topic and actually put some time and effort into it? The channel and company have been growing immensely it seems but the quality and depth of content has been lacking when it comes to the core base of the channel, pc performance and tech info. Really compiling research and getting into the core of the matter is the way to go, not more generalized, blase reviews and video's just to fill 7 minutes of time for an upload. -__- Wut did I just watch.

    Am I doing it right?

You do realize z has high level aspergers or possibly full autism right? Dudes doing the best he can with what he has, but I don't watch his shit. I just know how digital audio works, see my hobby, and side profession is a professional drummer and I work with studio recordings constantly. This is just my first step into a " hi fi. " set up for home, Jbl's won out over the Yamaha's and are a placeholder till I get to bring the Genelec's home. =D

    Am I doing it right?

You try REALLY hard to be smart but it doesn't work. I have almost everything in 24 / 196 and 32 / 196 straight out of our recording studio I work with and listen to at home. So strike 1. Also my entire collection is lossless 24 / 96 or 192. Strike 2. And thirdly, No one, Absolutely No one should be using the Gain attenuation on their powered monitor for volume control....... what the fuck.
  16. Seems like he's following his true passion. How can you knock that?!

    Am I doing it right?

Really the magni introduces volume control and pre outs into the set up, that alone is worth it. Not to mention they can drive pretty much anything. Running rca out off of the modi leaves it down to windows sound for volume.... Using software volume control does two things. One, it doesn't change the output signal voltage of the source, output voltage is constant. Two... it actually reduces the signal. it reduces the waveform by removing bits to digitally control the volume level...

Are you big into vinyl? Finding it to be worthwhile? I'm still stuck in the streaming realm for content but Finding Tidals Hifi to be a pretty good solution for the cost. Still need to invest in a music library for myself but I've just gotten into audiophile stuff this year!
  19. Well it's at a point where it's almost guaranteed. My method and tools have never created an issue and I've been doing this locally for about a year now, I do have the cash to set aside and create some sort of guarantee system where if there was any damage or failure I could replace the customers chip, but I don't have that hardware to test each different chip from various ranges, I only have Z68 / Z77 / Z170 / Z270 hardware available at home as of now. I've done the custom pc build thing, helped people design systems for their budget but nothings quite as fulfilling as custom mods like delidding or water cooling to me. My whole goal was to establish something without designing a website and going that route, which I've done with a family business in the past, and the tens of thousands of dollars for web design and hosting ( at a high level. ) isn't something I want to get into for such a small project vs our High end Auto detailing business, which can sustain that website itself.
  20. check that nothings muted via the volume panel. esp if there's no red x.
  21. With the issues going on with the new kaby lake series from intel I was wondering if anybody has offered a delidding service through linus tech tips? There are a few companies out there that offer this service but I'm seeing prices and turn around times that honestly kind of suck. I've delidded quite a few processors in my time and was thinking about getting all the necessary tools and starting a service for forum members, I currently am using custom 3d printed tools for kaby lake and skylake, I'd have to get tools for ivy bridge if I were to go through with this, I could offer a reasonable turn around time, within a day or same day of receiving it and wouldn't be pricing that high, this is more of a hobby of mine I'd like to see if I could turn into a business? Of course it would be an at your own risk service with no guarantee or responsibility accepted, but with 40+ delids I have not had a single issue at all. ( I've never used the razer method, only custom tools to properly secure and hold both the IHS and chip in place with proper support and clearance for any capacitors / transitiors. ) Really just trying to see if there's any interest for this type of thing and if it could take traction amongst the community! The best way to do it would to reship back and let the end user chose their thermal interface material, or I could offer a selection of popular pastes or liquid metals and offer a relidding service as well, I've personally found best results without relidding ( no resealing between the IHS and pcb ) and using liquid metal myself though. Let me know guys! Really just curious if this could be a thing.
  22. Every single racing style gaming chair is trash. Not a single one is designed for ergonomics or durability over time. You are wasting your money if you buy one. If you want a real chair that will be worth the money and actually make sitting enjoyable and HEALTHIER for your back and posture look into Brands like Herman MIller or Steelseries, There are many great chairs available that were designed by actual designers and medical researchers to benefit those who sit for multiple hours a day and work with your body to provide the best support and comfort. It's worth it to invest in one good chair that will last a decade or longer than go through several of these terrible designs, never truly getting a great experience.
  23. I never applied to lmg after I received an email for an opportunity as a writer because of family matters at the time. If you guys are looking for a personality similar to nicks and someone who lives and loves all things tech hit me up! Totally down to move to the great white north now. I could bring up to date. Passionate and highly inclusive content on the cutting edge of pc tech and gaming. Trust me. I write much better than my rushed forum posts. ?

    Am I doing it right?

I've stayed near the $200 mark for headphones in the past. Im not tied to any brand but I do seem to prefer closed back designs. What's a good pair to look st in the sub $500 range? I listen to all genres and really like tight, articulate sound over other sound signatures. I want detail and precision more than anything.

Safely put away so no dust gets on them. Sennheiser Hd600's. Hd380 pros for gaming and daily use and beyerdynamic dt990's. Saving up for some higher end models down the road. I went with the stack because I figured they'd serve me well as I upgrade over time. I have a 60" desk. Im spaced at exactly 1m now with a true equilateral triangle to my seating position. The stereo imaging of the of the jbls is unreal. If I had more space I would def go a little wider but in working with my limits here. Don't want to put my pc on the floor.
