I did sort of the same thing but I bought a server/workstation instead of just the motherboard. HP Z800 with 2 x 2.67GHz quad core hyper threaded cpus and 12GB of ECC memory for $400. Heres a link to my setup when I bought it.

Then I put 2 x Xeon X5672 quad core 3.20GHz hyper threaded cpus that I got for cheap in it. I also added another 12GB of ECC memory and a GTX970. Total with my 240GB SSD is about $1000-1100.

Her is a link to the finished setup.

Le me know what you guys think about this for a budget setup to game and edit. I couldn't find anything better for the price.

While I'd never want to play a game at a non-native resolution or with a framerate less than 60, Graphics is not everything.  Since I probably can't explain it as well as the guys at Extra Credits you can watch this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oK8UTRgvJU

Nintendo has nailed the style they wanted to create in every game they've made, and when you emulate their previous games in your Native Resolution they look even better. Just look at Skyward Sword run on the Dolphin Emulator:

Because Nintendo makes such great games I would never want them to make a game with an Aesthetic style that they didn't want to make, but that isn't to say that they might want to make a non-cartoon style in the future. I would never want the fanbase to force it on them though.

However, since the Wii was the last Nintendo console my family owned when I lived with them, as long as Nintendo keeps developing their games as their own platform exclusives, they will never get any of my money.  It's as simple as that.

EDIT: I guess this also means that if you don't screw up the simple things like platform exclusiveness, rebindable keys, no framerate locks, and extended resolution support you're essentially future proofing your PC game.

wow maybe this is also hinting towards Smash 4 not being as slow as molasses and actually apealing towards the ssbm crowd. If this is so I will throw my money at this plastic box SO hard.

Vcore at 1.5v, you are crazy. Whatever guide you are using is bad.

Haswell is a complete crap shoot when it comes to overclocking, your results are going to be unique to your chip, so go into this with an open mind.  Don't push your chip higher than 1.3v with just a 212 EVO.

This is a long process, so be patient, start low and work your way up, don't start high or in the middle.  Don't delid or purchase a more expensive CPU cooler until you are sure that temperatures are the only thing holding you back.  Without sounding like I am gloating, I personally use an i5-4670k + 212 EVO and my 24/7 OC is 4.7Ghz @ 1.275v.  This is a good example of the silicon lottery, your results are going to be much more dependent upon the chip, and not the temperatures.  Temperatures are a big factor, but it is not the only factor.
