That’s true, I agree, but he has a 1k budget. His current stuff would lag behind a bit today, and a full overhaul would spike the performance

Is there a micro center nearby?

Do you only need the GPU for AV1 encoding or should it have enough performance for gaming as well? Otherwise, something like an A380 would be a much cheaper option to get AV1 in hardware. Current gen AMD and Nvidia cards support it as well, and might be a better option if the card is also used for gaming.

Your build is pretty balanced as is, the only thing that makes sense to upgrade here is probably the gpu, for the AV1 encoding as you said, and save the rest for a new system in the future

Why is Asus tuf boards for z370 not the same as the previous tuf series boards? The warranty is 3 years compared to 5 years. No tuf fortifier on the back and no thermal armor. Like what gives?

that's a really badly written game, my 4.5 ghz 5820k with 32 gb ram and a 1070 sli can't run it very well. 

You won't see any games using more than 6-8gbs as for SLI I can't say. When it comes to processors I would say fater cores would be the better option.
