  1. linus hits about a million views, tweaktown channel average300 views, the math is simple. they were looking for viral video, it's an unboxing... this is not a technical review competing with review sites... it's a showtime video looking for trending, tweaktown should get a grip.
  2. it didn't, they downclocked the desktop Ryzen to 2.2GHZ instead of it's 3.6GHZ stock or 4GHZ OC
  3. my guess on prices for the X variants, and regular non OC cpus a 100$ less 10cores starts at 799$ 12 cores at 999$ 14 cores at 1199$ and 16 cores at 1499$
  4. these are not gaming cpus, logicaly AMD's are going to be better, so why would they slash the price, they can go for good margins, and they would still be much cheaper than intel.
  5. nvidia made more money, because AMD didn't introduce any product on 300$+ segment, it's not because of the switch....and that doesn't happen often, having free market to grab, Q3 results will probably be much lower than Q1 although it's supposed to be better, because AMD will have a competing product on 300-500$ range.
  6. their revenue increased by 18% compared to last year, who ever thinks AMD's Q1 results are idiots, most of the money from Ryzen isn't in yet, because AMD doesn't get paid at front, it's not a supermarket, beside they have full segments that are not covered yet by any products, and tons of new products coming, Naple, R3, Vega, APU, mobile, OEMs.... and the stock drop is expected nervous ppl tend to dump before results when they dont like risk or cannot afford risk, and it will go back up pretty fast.
  7. lol, and why would it be quake and not prey ? why not both ? AMD and nvidia often run multiple game bundles at the same time, dirt rally, total war warhammer, doom, etc, nvidia with for honor, ghost recon, watch dogs2...
  8. wth kitguru ? the TPU database info for unreleased products are just kind of place holders, that gets updated when the product is released. beside do you really believe AMD would release Vega without any event of conference ? dream on, the up coming dates where we might have vega release is computex 28-30th May , or E3 13-15th June. also there is no way Vega is slower than a 1080, the drawback from is far greater than just releasing a higher end card than the 480, and they had a year knowing the 1080's performance, AMD will target at least 10% over the 1080, and just by the number of CUs, vega should be exactly twice the performance of a 480, which puts it around 20% over the 1080 and about 10-15% under the Ti.
  9. well Superdata is a company that their job is to provide data for market research, they better be accurate. again im not leaning on sales alone, i am poiting to the line up and exclusives again, and the fact that studios started picking PC as 2nd platform instead of xbox being delayed or canceled all together. just to be clear, i do not have any console, i exclusively game on PC, my opinion is as objective as it gets, PS4 value makes it a great console, Xone, well it's a console that doesn't have much value imo, and my opinion seem to be backed up by a global trend from other gamers. xbone is liked mostly in the US, because it's an american company, not because of it's quality, xbox360 had a lucky break against ps3, but even then sony managed to turn it around, where the last years of these consoles life PS sales skyrocketed.
  10. weird because of this article dated 18 january 2017, superdata puts xbone sales around 26 millions, how did M$ managed to lose 2 million units in 2 years ... but i digress, i thought i spoke about line up and exclusives, because selling better is sure a vital point for a console's success, that directly leads to developers incentivised to exclusive content, that ultimately leads to the consumer's final choice for a platform, but it doesn't mean it's better...maybe when studios starts to consider PC as 2nd best platform instead of xbone, that would start becoming a problem, oh wait, it already started ? like Nier automata ? Hellblade ? and about my question it was to see why you would pick them, not looking for the best setup, but between those 2 which one would pick.
  11. that is excatly my point, why does microsoft cling into a dead console, that would bring the quality of the games down for the common denominator ( xbone ). game made from the ground up for 6 TeraFlops are completely different from games made for 2TeraFlops, then supersampled to 4k. dozens of millios is a bit of a strech they barely broke 25million units, that is a couple dozen, it's not yet plural untill you get quantity of 3 dozen..., ps4 is closing in on 60 millions units, and the games line up and exclusivity paints rather a clear picture. the increase in compute does barely allow 4k, and it is a marketing tool, contrary to say " detail rich games", the bump from xbone to scorpio performance although it allow the 1080p content to be run at 4k, it does that with details downgrade in favor of pixel count, which brings me to my point, the overall game will be more empty than any usual 1080p game could allow, and far less fps count. i do wanna ask you a question, on PC would you pick an HDR 144hz 1080p monitor ? or an SDR 144hz 4k ? and explain to me why, thx.
  12. well a 10% overclock to the gpu, i still think 4k is the wrong focus here, i would rather play a rich detailed game like the witcher 3 @ 1080p, than the witcher 1 @ 4k. xbone is dead, trying to hang on to it by making scorpio an extention rather than a standalone console with it's own exclusives, will bite them in the arse, it's just not that appealing. i might be wrong, we will see anyway.
  13. glofo have been in trouble for years, this is not new, and this light restructuring doesn't mean they are closing door, they just invested alot of money on new fabs and automated systems. the link between AMD ad glofo, is a deal where AMD have to make 1billion $ worth of wafer per year failure to do that, results in AMD paying a fine of 250mil or so, and few months back both parties revisited the deal, where AMD have the ability to use another foundry if Glofo's process hurts AMD's products and without paying the fine. if you ask me, the deal with glofo was hurting AMD more than benefiting it, the hard limit on AMD's products for polaris and Ryzen are due to the process not the design, i think they would be better off with another foundry.
  14. the funny part is, when seven goes EOL, there will be a majority of PCs running EOL systems than on going support ( xp + 7 > windows 10 market share )
