1. Hiho, everyone! So, I'll be flying from Europe with my microATX system and I'd like to avoid also having to bring my own monitor for BYOC. Worst case scenario I'll just buy a cheapo used one in Vancouver, but I'm looking for a better solution. I've seen several posts of people saying they'll just bring one monitor due to desk space. Is there anyone willing to lend or even rent to me their second monitor for the weekend? We could arrange to sit nearby in the upcoming seat selection, if that would ease your mind. This will be my first lan party ever (and of course LTX); I'm so excited! It will also be my first time outside Europe, so I'll spend about 2-3 weeks in Canada. I'll probably take the train to Prince George and enjoy the scenery. Does anyone know if there are safe lockers at the train station or somewhere, so I could travel a bit lighter? Last question (pinky promise): Which carrier has good coverage suitable for my trip? Any sane plans? I'm only interested for data. PS: I'll be bringing plenty of Pokemon, especially from Go Fest Dortmund. Hit me up, if you also play PoGO and want to trade.
2. Phew...Better late than never... I hope you'll get it

4. You're cheap Mr. Linus... or maybe it's just that Logan set our expectations a bit too high
5. Beyerdynamic DT990 it is! I better find more money soon, cause it's like the 3rd time my whole right earphone comes off and it looks kinda bad this time...I don't know how much this tape will last Thanks all! Thanks Mogwai!
6. So I guess "good" and "wireless" don't like each other. After some research, I'm stuck between AKG K240 Studio/MKII and Beyerdynamic DT770/990 250ohms. It seems the K240's Studio is the same as MKII without the extras. Can anyone confirm that? It's a big difference in price for just that. Again, my primary goal is comfort. I'll use them for pretty much anything... (Music, movies, games and a bit of noob audio editing/mixing) My setup is onboard Realtek ALC889 audio and a pair of YST-M15's. It says "Output Impedance: 900 ohms", so I guess they could drive any of these? Or maybe a better question would be which ones make Linus sound better?
7. I don't really like wireless either, I just though I'd try it since it's very convenient and I would finally stop tripping on the cord
8. Oh, I forgot to mention I wear glasses. Just something to keep in mind, if you happen to know your suggestion isn't quite comfortable with glasses.
9. Too high impedance I think. My amplifier is an old pair of Yamaha YST-M15 speakers These look promising. No idea why I skipped them earlier. Reviews are good. Btw, what's the difference between Studio and MK II?
10. I live in Greece so shipping and imports from US are kind of any deal breaker. They cost around 145 euros locally which is about $195.
11. MDR-XB500 and the likes seem to be "No Longer Available". I guess I'll have to upgrade my budget to $200. Maybe I'll try going for HD 558 and find out what Linus is rumbling about Thanks
12. I don't really mind being it wired, if I can't find the same quality/comfort in a wireless one at my budget. If it can handle falls, it's fine
13. I don't need a microphone so either is fine. The RS160 are indeed great, but reviews say they aren't comfortable in the long run. I also don't think you can use them while charging which is a must for me. Otherwise, I like this type with the external transmitter and the regular 3.5mm audio jack.
14. Update: I may have marked this as answered, but the answer is "good" and "wireless" just don't like each other... Personally I prefer quality over convenience, so I stuck with wired headphones. Hello, After 2 years with my first "real" headset it's time for a replacement mainly because it's about to fall apart... I have a Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Sigma Gaming Headset, and even though it lacks build quality, it's pretty comfortable and a hell of a lot better than some crappy $10 headphones I had before that hurt my ears after 5 mins... I'm a Corsair fanboy, but I don't let my "fanboyism" control me...I just love the build quality and looks of their products. Corsair Vengeance 2000/2100 look awesome, but I'm not sure if it works with Linux or Mac OS X. Has anyone tried it? If I can't find anything that mainly has good build quality and it's wireless that works cross platform, I think I'll get the analog Corsair Vengeance 1400. I'm open for any other suggestion, wireless or analog, as long as it has good build quality and industrial design. I like analog because I can use it with pretty much anything, but being wireless is also very convenient. I don't really need a microphone since I use a Zoom H1 via USB and it works great. I also checked out Sennheiser HD 280 PRO, but reviewers said it lacks a bit in build quality. But most important: comfort I use my headset like 14-18 hours a day, so I need something suitable (for some reason I wear it even when I'm not listening to anything, as long as I'm in front of my computer) As of sound quality, I don't really think my ears can tell the difference, so as long as it's working without any problems, it's fine by me. Almost forgot: My budget is around $100-$150. Thanks, YiamiYo
15. I'm running 2 WD Caviar Blacks 640GB in onboard Intel Raid0 (I wanted to try Raid) I also had a WD Green 640GB for important files, but it died relatively fast...I really though it would last much longer than my Blacks... Fortunately I was able to copy most of the files from Linux before it was too late. After watching several videos of Linus, I started to feel kinda nervous, so I just got a new Samsung 840 250GB for my OSes and I'll try to Raid1 my Blacks.
16. I got a CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Evo I got it back when I wasn't overclocking and I was getting like 85-90C with stock cooler at 2.66GHz... I was happy with it's low price, the reason it didn't need a backplate and it's performance till I saw this thread using the same cpu/motherboard: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/254386-29-overclocking-gigabyte-ud3r-excellent I didn't know a first generation i5 was so capable of overclocking... I've tried to increase voltages along with bclk, but didn't mess with setFSB at all... Prime95 was reporting problems at first minute and I was getting random crashes when using lots of RAM. Maybe I should go back to using only 4GB RAM?
17. Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forums! I know this has been discussed a lot, as I've spent a lot of time searching google if gtx 670 worth it over 660ti... The truth is I might not even need a 660ti cause of bottlenecking so here are my PC specs: Motherboard: GA-P55A-UD3R (rev. 1.0) CPU: Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Evo RAM: 4x Corsair Dominator 2GB 1600MHz DDR3 (2x CMP4GX3M2B1600C8 + 2x CMD4GX3M2A1600C8 cause when I upgraded my old memory was discontinued and I was in need for more RAM to run VMs, so I picked something as similar I could find) HDD: 2x WD Caviar Black 640GB 64MB in RAID0 PSU: Corsair 650W CMPSU-650TXEU Case: CoolerMaster Sileo 500 Black Current GPU: Palit GTS 250 1GB I've managed to OC a bit, but my PC couldn't run stable at speeds other people have reached with the same CPU/Mobo combo (maybe cause of the different RAM modules) http://valid.canardpc.com/2713270 I want to try 3D gaming in the future, so I'd like to be able to reach 120 fps even at mid graphics (for 1x 1080p display) at games like Guild Wars 2 and Skyrim or other future games. My budget is around 350 Euros and I don't want an AMD GPU. I love Nvidia's stability and I also like experimenting with CUDA and PhysX as a programmer. Thanks in advance!
