Yeah I did stress testing to see if it would be okay to play games on it, so I wouldn't worry about overheating, at least maybe not

How safe is it. At idle I get between 30-40c. Seems like these Haswells get pretty darn hot.

I have a gigabyte z97x-sli, i5-4670k stock, asus r9-280 gpu. xfx 600w pro core PSU, adata 2x4gb ram I built this PC myself, the first time I put the cpu and cooler together I was getting temps that would jump up pretty fast and it 90c or a little more once. So I ended up cleaning the cpu and reapplying the thermal paste(ceramique 2). This time it is better, the highest I seen it go with prime95 was 81C after a few minutes. It did not look like it was going to go past that when I stopped it(I let it fluctuate a bit before I exited it. P.S. The case is a Corsair 230t, which has 2 intake fans and 1 rear exhaust fan. I plan to get a hyper 212 evo for it sometime soon, but I want to play SWTOR for a while until I can get one.

For some reason I hear people like Skyrim better, but I liked Oblivion better; I enjoyed the story more than I do with Skyrim.

I can't choose one but I like motor the metal gear series and almost all assassins creed

It would be nice to test it, though a little afraid of something happening. Also seems replacing the cpu cooler with a different one could be risky, and a little difficult to remove the heatsink from CPU.

I have everything except a good case. I wanted to test it out and see how well it worked and see if I had any DOA items too.

Maybe unplug some things to lessen the power usage to see if the psu is under powered. It may not be this issue but one way I would try an eliminate the possibility.

Just wish I would have thought about the height of my ram.

It is going to contain xfx 650pro psu Asus r9-280 directcui gigabyte z97sli board(supports crossfire too) DVD writer i5-4670k 1tb wd blue hard drive. Will also contain the hyper 212 evo. I have everything needed except a good case and a good after market cooler. Sorry on a cell phone so harder to type. Ah, for some reason I was thinking of 149 I guess. How acurate is pcpartpicker's compatibility? Atleast for case and CPU Cooler? Also I have an old HP case, I was thinking of putting my stuff in it, until I can get a better case and leave the side off because I doubt there would be good airflow in it due to not having any case fans in it. What do you think? Also would be using the stock HS/Cooler until I can get a better CPU cooler too.
